    Can anyone here post a video of sorc getting 40-50k self buffed? I really think people are exaggerating this. You probably need some insane frags luck to reach this dps.

    I don't know about 40-50k but i was able to get 38k self buffed. And yes, a lot of skills got over my critical chance rating. This most certainly does not happen every time. I feel like 38k is a good number for bis gear and max level. BTW, By the time i finished the 3 mil skeleton, my magicka was on the verge of extinction. lol

    Bolded Which is how it should be at the end of any fight. Left over magicka means you can give up sustain skills/sets/enchants for more damage.

    The problem with mag sorcerer is simple:

    If you go full DPS build technically you should be sort of a glass cannon (Ultra high dmg but not that good defence). But with sorcerer it is a different story. If you go full dps and you have only like 10K health... you can still use "Conjured Ward" (stack-able shield) So it adds like 20 - 25K DMG shield to your health bar. This shield is not affected by penetration and crits.
    No other class in game can do that....

    In PvP - Let me put it this way: In order to kill a sorcerer you need to deal at lest 25K "true" dmg (with no crits and penetration) fast enough to even "reach" the health bar. You have to do it fast enough so your enemy will not have a chance to "stack" more shield.
    So you focus on destroying that shield while sorcerer throws "Haunting Curse" at you (un-dodge-able, un-block-able instant that explodes twice on you and even pulls you out of stealth 2x (even thou there is nothing like that in skill description).

    And in the end when you finally managed to get rid of that shield and start doing dmg to health bar what does the sorcerer do ? Either stuns you with Streak & kills you or just escapes faster than sprinting mount....

    In PvE - in addition to a DPS class being way more tanky than let's say a NB going full tank build you also have pets that take aggro form enemies making sorc a class that can solo even some group vet dungeons....

    Ugh ... only the boring Templars. Fun ones like mine use Harness Magicka. It's over 19k for me. Sorcs aren't the only toons that can use things that scale off of Magicka. #50kmagicclub

    This is how every game ends, at the end of nerf cycle of "balance", classes become weak and everyobe gets mad at whatever appears to be the least nerfed of the new weak options. It is like Zo$ is intentionally trying *** everyone off and thin out the player base, which would resolve most of the lag issues I guess, or prepare the player base for the next game on the horizon they put out.

    Which got a buff just this last patch.

    It's sooooo easy to get used to being OP, but giving that up is like somebody is kidnapping your children.

    Major Exaggerations seriously undercut your credibility.

    PVP:
    With a 50k+ mag build and 48 bastion (%15 extra shield), my hardened ward is 27k in pve. In pvp this gets cut in half, so 13k. Most sorcerers do not run necro pets in cyrodiil and it is much more common to see hardened ward cap out at 11-12k.

    Shields can't be penetrated or crit, but they also receive no mitigation from armor, so they are taking almost naked damage (CP does reduce damage to shields). Given this damage condition, dot damage eats shields alive almost as fast as they can be applied (jesus beam is exceptionally deadly when at around 30% health which is very common with multiple decent attackers.

    Stack on little facts like agony and fossilize un-blockable un-dodgeable instant disorients which are not broken when damaging sorc shields and suddenly you have a rather effective counter to shields, especially when you stack in a root skill or one of the like 14, 60% spammable snare skills in the game on top of gap closer snares and frankly a sorc doesn't have a super great escape skill either since streak has stacking cost which multiply with resource poisons... oh and those gap closers do not have stacking costs and if a sorcerer is on any sort of a downhill incline, streak takes us into the air... and then halts all forward momentum and drops us to the ground giving ample time for anyone to catch up if they have major expedition by say, dodge rolling with a bow or being a nightblade.

    Every other mag build can shield stack too btw. Have you ever tried bursting a shield stacking fear spamming health sapping magblade running skoria for burst? I'd argue that's worse

    Oh, and that haunting curse you have such trouble with can be purged, or since stambuilds can dodge every sorc skills except curse, you can just eat curse with vigor and be totally fine 90% of the time.

    Look, I'm not saying sorcs are weak, I can wipe the floor with bad - average players all day, but if one or two really good players of any class come into play, it's not like I can just shield stack and /lol and reply to whispers while they futilely assault my impregnable defenses. It is immediately a battle of wits, baiting each other, timing CC and burst, wearing down resources and eventually someone dies or more players join the fight.

    If you can't kill any mag sorcs in pvp, then it's either you that's bad or the sorc that's good or some gradient in the middle.

    PVE Tankyness

    No, magsorc is not more tanky than a NB in full tank mode. I know nightblades that off tank vMoL HM. They survive attacks that one shot me while I'm blocking with a 27k shield.

    As for soloing group vet dungeons, most of the vet dungeons can be soloed by any mag class or really good stam players. The notable exceptions are the dungeons that have mechanics that pin and one shot but can be escaped via streak (ICP, WGT come to mind)

    To top off pve, many end game pve sorcerers actually run harness magicka over the sorc shield for the sustain it provides, so it's not like hardened ward is some super advantage that other classes suffer for not having in pve.

    If you want to complain about something that is actually overtuned on a sorc, then complain about pet builds which are getting hit in like 3 days anyway.

    Eh, I have mained a sorc since beta. I have been around for all the nerfs and I gotta say, WoW's blizzard gets it better than ESO's ZOS does.

    Why? Because Blizzard figured out that nerfs lead to decrease in subscriptions because people want to feel powerful. So, they decided to start buffing players. And now, WoW has a momentum returning to their subscription base, even though the game is super dated comparatively.

    Nah, I think you mistake this for ESO players finally giving up on this game and returning to WoW ; P

    the more shields a (((((((((((((((((sorcerer)))))))))))))))))) has then the less damage they should be able to do.
    so if you place 1 shield on yourself then you do only 15% less damage, but if you stack shields on yourself then you cannot do any damage at all.
    is the way it should be and how i hope they make it.

    Kinda works that way now, shield takes mag and in morrowind regen will be king.

    Probably the 22nd...They've already stated this was the last patch to PTS and the remaining adjustments would be pushed straight to live.

    You're cool with armor working that way too, right? People generally don't hit harder when in full plate or simply because they put on a leather jacket. I don't care what Hollywood tells you. Then there's mobility penalties for same, but you're good with those too?

    (And in the interest of spite, they'd simply throw out the damage and then shield after the fact. Good attempt though.)

    Pretty sure that's how it is now. If all you're doing is defending (on any class), you aren't doing damage.

    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

    what the hell are you talking about?? Sorcs are the best dps in game HANDS down.... all other classes are way below sorcs..

    this is due to wroebel only playing one class in game..

    PVP Sorc has all that unblockable burst Damage, unlimited sustain and high damage with lightning heavy attack, Shields that are un crittable, and nearly indestructible at around 26k in pvp, magica pool that is insane while having pets. These magicka sorcs get it all. They got the most defense (with spammable shields) and burst damage in the game. Its not even slightly balanced. They are top tier top dps top defense top everything. They even got a AOE distruption teleport to top it off. They can just do whatever they want in cyrodiil UNCHECKED.
