Upcoming Sorc Nerfs

I have heard that there are quite a lot of nerfs coming on Sorcs.
Can someone tell me when these nerfs will be on live ?

    All i heard was the ahh pet scamp damage nerf that's coming.

    Instead of 50k average damage they'll be doing around 45K. Its not fair when you look how none of the other classes had their damage affected. And every single one got something added except, you guessed it, sorcerers.

    Nah, seriously, I think they said they won't have a chance to test it on PTS but they did the math. I think they're in the process of learning algebra >:)

    The party has got to end sometime or the other mate.
    Sorc cannot simply dominate all aspects of the game unchallenged.

    Wow you must be kidding right? Sorc dominates the game in terms of dps and its not even hard to achieve. And still you find it unjust that only they get their damage sorted out? My god... long time ago that I have seen such bias.

    Every class has Access to 2 shields, so this would be a huge nerf for every magicka build. And we dont want magicka NB nerfed to the ground right?!

    Just remove The Passive from Sorc shield "your shield is 30% bigger"

    There is only one thing that is sure: That the "nerf Sorc" movement won't be satisfied until Sorcs share the fate of DKs and are left broken after so called "balance". When the patch notes hit we'll have another round of Sorc hysteria and rage fiesta. It's so predictable.

    But it's only mag sorcs that need a slight nerf. Stam sorcs are pretty balanced right now and you don't see many people running them. I think the only real change is that shields should be critable as some have suggested.

    Every class hast Access to 2 shields
    Templar's shield scale with health, so it's exclusevly to their "Bombertank" build )

    @vpy no one knows 100% as the Dev's haven't really said a great deal past stuff looking at pet sorcs, mostly it's all been speculation.

    However as others have said we will know what it is come Monday when it hits the live servers. Expect the forums to explode because... well something changed.

    If i maintain one shield i am spending one active cast per 6s if it runs the duration... more likely every 3-4s. That is basically 1/3 to 1/6 of the active casts. Thats not exsctly 15% less dmg but not a lot off. If i sm ttyingbyo kerp 2-3 shields, not a lot of active casts left.

    Block-cast and cast-dodge work great too.

    But consider what a hvy mitigation build with the one shield cast replaced by illustrius heal does.

    Mitigate the incoming dmg then apply 4s hot thats iirc not all that far off a big shield. And the heal can crit.

    Proudly skooma free while talks-when-drunk is in mandatory public housing.

    Honestly, I would be happy if Nightblades received a passive that would help them deal with shields. Something like "25 > 50% of disease damage you deal ignores shields". Nightblades are assassins, it's only logical that they are able to easily take out enemies that don't wear actual armor, and this would help Stamblades.

    Can anyone here post a video of sorc getting 40-50k self buffed? I really think people are exaggerating this. You probably need some insane frags luck to reach this dps.

    Wow, folks can't take a joke.

    In all seriousness, I don't want sorcerers nerfed in any way shape or form. I don't like nerfs for any of the classes. My favorite is the nightblade though I find the sorcerer to be the most well rounded. Its a pedestrian method of addressing power creep (or leap). Which every game deals with and every game tries nerfing yet somehow they still need to nerf later even though its where they want it. Why? No one is going to pay money to just be adequate. We want the feel of progression and they keep giving it to us. Which means we keep getting stronger then before you know it another nerf is needed. In six months time, the same people thrilled about the current nerfs will be asking for more. And though it might not be the sorcerer they'll be asking for another class to be nerfed. Its has happened and it will happen. So I vote that any future nerfs be put on hold until right after PvE and PvP are balanced together. Shouldn't take long. I hear they know math.

    i have a ll the classes- so dont have a bias- i just want to see all skills be counterable- and thats a good starting point for discussion. i dont think that thouhg- as casting shields- u can't attack anyway- they only last 6 seconds. sorcs are strong but they also take more skin to dominate than say templar. a sorc has to have quick reflexes and skills- the animation cancelling has to be on point. to be a dominant templar- u can do it with jabs and bol- literally. block spamming 2 buttons.
    i like the idea of everything being counterable- and for everything to have a risk reward thing. i think molag kena is a good example of that style of balancing. u can have more damage but it will risk ur resources.

    i think dark deal should be if interrupted- the cost gets taken away from the sorc also - or perhaps affected by increased cost . it should be that if you're going to try a big play- a big skill - but fail- u should be punished.

    night blade should be looked at it the same way- with sneak attack and ambush- if you interrupt or bash while someone is ambushing- they should be stunned in turn.
    and templar if they cast a breath of life in pvp- they get bashed- it should hurt them somehow too. this kind of thing is just ridiculous stupid and makes people not even want to play the game:
    i mean look at this ***. yes sorcs are OP. but its not necessarily a bad thing for each class to have their thing. one class best for tanking, another for damage, another healing, another for solo pvp, etc, etc.

    I guess coming out of stealth and blind siding them just doesn't work for you then. If they don't know your coming why would they stack shields?

    I know Nightblades need some work but if you just can't use the class then don't use the class.
    If your talking duels then hey there's a poison for that. Has magica steal in it.

    Oh and BTW a shield is ... you guessed it wrong but Armor. It's magic armor that magic users use to create a barrier between you and them. It's like metal but made from magic.


    Edit: Don't care if sorcs get a nerf. They have been nerfed before and I'm sure it to will cease to be the flavor of the month some day. Wont stop me from playing my first toon I made 2+ years ago.

    Eh, I have mained a sorc since beta. I have been around for all the nerfs and I gotta say, WoW's blizzard gets it better than ESO's ZOS does.

    Why? Because Blizzard figured out that nerfs lead to decrease in subscriptions because people want to feel powerful. So, they decided to start buffing players. And now, WoW has a momentum returning to their subscription base, even though the game is super dated comparatively.

    The nerf I wanted already happened. Pirate skeleton no longer proc on shields. So many sorcs will loose their "skill" in 3 days from now :smiley:
