@Danikat He is not really important, buying subs on youtube can everyone. And so go on, most of his builds were about tanking in pvp. Which says everything in my opinion. I don't wanna be mean to him but I hope with him, his builds slowly disappear as well, he was just cancerous.

When i played after one tamriel I was looking at Deltia's site and a lot of the stuff seemed out of date on it. I went and looked at some other people on youtube instead for a bit and then played around with the different sets to see which bonus I liked the most. I advise procs, like defiler, with supplemental bonuses such as night mother's with thief mundus and divines traits after morrowind along with viper since currently it is easy to solo farm a set on a templar or anything with decent sustain and it might be your last chance to do it before either you're forced to group for normal dungeons or the game dies a half a year to year-long death.

By the time Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is out, possibly next year, even some of the people that move to Final Fantasy with it's Stormblood expansion in June may have moved to Pantheon if they play on PC. And Final Fantasy Stormblood (It's June expansion) Is an excellent option for Playstation 4 users. I'd advise taking advantage of a free trial and seeing how you like it.

Be warned the main quests tory is mandatory in FF14, and then Heavensward's main story as well to unlock jobs in HW & SB respectively. But playing eso I'm sure many people will not mind it and the story is quite good often anyways. There are also plenty of side dungeons to take abreak in since I last remembered playing FF14 once I hit the mid to high 30s. So I didn't feel burned out going through the story this time around I actually enjoyed myself.

Nope. I don't follow guides - not in any game. Don't see the point of getting all the answers handed to you. Rather talk to people in-game or ask around for tips & tricks. :'D
Or I sort things out myself, especially for smallscale-pvp. Thing is: I could copy a build 101%, but if I wouldn't be comfortable playing it, I would be terrible at it.

The hilarious thing about this statement is that only like .5% of the playerbase runs endgame PvE, so the vast majority of players do (in fact) make their own builds. You can't follow "the meta" if you're not looking up what the meta is. Most people don't actually care.

I read his guides as a reference (just so I know I am not ignoring something basic) but the more I play and the more I learn my class the better builds I make

Vet trials are pretty narrow in terms of what sets and rotations you can do to be viable, but most of the playerbase is either casually doing dungeons or pvping where there is more flexibility, or even simply playing the overworld where literally anything works.

Man, Deltia hate is full blown. I like the guy myself. It was his video that let me know ESO had finally come out. I remember years ago it about to release then forgot about it. Never saw a thing about it again until I was checking out something on YouTube. So for me personally, I think he did ESO a great service

But I did start to get over how this new build he had was the most outstanding thing ever. Until the next video and that build was the most outstanding ever. Then updated the old build making it the most outstanding thing ever. Now, if Gilliam talking about something, I'm watching. He does all the number crunching and provides detail demonstrations. I don't think they'd run that way in game. After all, a dummy doesn't fight back or have attacks that need avoiding or blocking. But the information on the abilities themselves is very well done.

I had started paying more attention to Gilliam so when Deltia had his breakdown (sorry, man, but wow), I wouldn't have found out if not for the forum. Still, I don't hate the guy like some. Not sure where its coming from. Perhaps during the funeral that people were watching he killed their dog. I dunno but it seem terribly misplaced. I think he did got overboard which is probably the reason to quit. He probably can't come back from that.

Still, the YouTube folks have a great deal of information but I don't think they can 'make' your character for you. That works for them. I might work for others. But not sure if you could just give someone that build and they'd blow through the content. But man, so much pure hatred have I only seen given to developers.

I tried to follow his, but I just made my own. Much easier for me since I have difficulty understanding why some skills and stuff are needed over others. I'd rather learn as I go and max all the lines

To copy a build will never teach you how your char work like own experience and tests.

But sure, for People that never would test anything by themself it can be a help.
At least if the delta is a youtuber with knowledge. (No idea, never look such videos)

I've referenced his builds (and others) from time to time. I don't copy ALL the things from anyone though. Now, if I do look at builds its because I am trying to figure out how to deal with a character I am learning how to play, and generally not loving. I'm not trying to be the most Meta Meta-er that ever meta-d, so looking at builds isn't about me trying to achieve some godly status of playerhood.

If a character bores me or annoys me, nothing in this world is going to get me to keep playing it seriously.

Why would ANYbody use someone else's builds? The whole point of the thing is to create your OWN character, your own way, reflecting how YOU play the game. Duh.

And you know, all these folks making YouTube videos on the game were appointed "experts" on the thing by themselves. That's the big lie of the internet age. Every idiot with a keypad is a critic, every loser with a camera built into their computer is a YouTube "star," and everyone who plays the game for more than nine hours thinks of themselves as "experts."

I don't believe that the overwhelming majority of players make their own builds like the poll results indicate. Channels like Sypher and Deltia get the majority of their views from their build videos. Also their builds are run by 90% of Cyrodiil. Ill admit, im guilty of it too but the reason I didn't choose that poll option is because I often disagree with aspects of their builds like too much sustain or too low mag/stam etc and change it up based on my preferences.

The reason people run their builds is because they are the most effective in the meta, nothing wrong with that im just saying the poll results are not accurate.

The only thing I care about from builds is the explanation of why an ability is used so my understanding improves and I can put together something I'm happy with.

So in that case it doesn't matter whether its Deltia or Alcast or whoever.

My big issue is whether the information is current or not, sometimes hard to tell.

I used to use Deltias build back in the day, but now i just tweak as i go along, i tried watching some Alcast videos but i just couldn't get on with it, he has such a monotone voice i find it hard to listen to him, he sounds like somebody built a robot and tried to give an accent.

Deltia was a good resource for me when I started to play this game. He also had some great builds for leveling up.

Now I mostly make my own stuff but I look at other builds for ideas.

Same goes for Sypher. His displays of PvP skills have spawned dreams and ambitions in many new players and you really can't measure the value of that.

Personally I could give two figs what you or anyone else appreciates. Deltia had a unhinged, food flying from his mouth rant on YouTube, and called anyone that disagreed with him in chat a "crapmuncher", (paraphrasing) and worse, not to mention the Bizzaro mock funeral held for his Templar ....I don't know if he was channeling Shia LaBeouf or what, but it was downright weird.

Burying the templar was a joke. It was funny and was intended to be so. If you can't see that and don't find it funny, that's on you, no one else. As for his quitting ESO video, that was no rant. It was, if anything, somewhat regretful,. The man's life changed forever when his son was born, and he's clearly trying to make better life choices even if hard for him. To condemn him for that is really ugly stuff.

1: Deltia is a public figure, so open to scrutiny, hence no naming and shaming especially when the rant is still available despite Deltia trying to delete it.

1. @Deltia is not a public figure in the sense that you mean it, I believe. He does not use his real name, only a pseudonym (screen name). Someone above used his real name in a post and that should definitely be disallowed. For several years, I've been aware of Deltia and his ESO related work. I even subscribed to his YouTube and stream channels for awhile. But this is the first time I've ever seen his real name. @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_KaiSchober, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom...please look at this situation. Is this use of a person's real name on these forums appropriate?

2. You might not be the only one, but that just means there is more than one humorless person in this world.

3. It's not having a kid that is the point in this conversation. It is the fact that he is trying to make better life choices and should not be disrespected for that decision. This is a game, people. It is not the be-all and end-all of anything real except to the people who work for the companies involved in producing and promoting it. So when you get right down to it, what exactly had Deltia done to deserve the crap being thrown around here about him? He decided to no longer cover ESO in his channels and website? Puhleeeze...get back to me when ESO becomes more important in this world than just a video game.

The only reason I mention his name is that he ended up posting it in a video on his site. For the people who don't know, the guy is a war vet. He is working on helping others with PTSD. I liked the game advice and videos, but it is his service to his country and helping others that truly earns my respect. There are a lot of people who know his situation, which is why they get upset when people attack him. I was peacetime Army myself, too young for 'Nam and out before Desert Storm. He has been through things that I can't imagine, and being a game streamer may help with his recovery. I don't blast any of the streamers, as they are all doing a lot of work bringing their content to us.
