On Spear Shards (and morphs - particularly Luminous)

I really don't know what to think when I see changes to Spear Shards in *every* patch notes.

Oh! yeah I noticed that.

I have a templar tank and I saw the original change and though. "Hey that might actually be good news because I'll be able to block more". Although not being able to stun trash sucks.

Then I was playing around with my cp630 template version of my tank and I noticed I wasn't getting resources back and I was confused, since I definately remembered reading that the caster would get resource return. It getting removed randomly later explains it!

I just thought I had read it wrong and I had to get an ally to activate the synergy to trigger it

That's because, just like templars, NB are not a CC class. You're asking for something that should not be given to the class.

And regarding giving resources to the caster... that's a stupid idea to begin with. Because it makes the ability free.
Hell, it doesn't even make it free. you GAIN resources by casting an ability. In a game where casting abilities reduces resources 99.99% of the time.

It's unintuitive, and silly, and very exploitable.

And this is why zos shouldn't read the forums.

Its the same old thing year after year, time after time. We tell them what's wrong, how to make something work, provide feedback and then we never get anything done for Templars. Always a dev saying "we listen and read" but they don't. They just stick to some sorry ass vision they have for a class that is stuck not knowing what it really is. Just because we have A healing tree doesn't mean that's all we want to do Zenimax. Every class should be able to perform every role. I don't know why I keep bringing my ass back hoping for something to change. I like my Templar. I want to play my Templar. But my Templar is no where near as effective as other classes are at tanking. Sure, I can stay alive and survive for a bit but if I am unable to keep my teammates protected and control enemies then I am not a Tank. The way you have threat designed in this game REQUIRES AoE CC to tank really. I don't know why you cant see that! Some of us don't want to be a damn priest! Let us be Paladins! Or actually live up to the name TEMPLAR!
