No, "furnished" is essentially furnished while packs are premium. If you are both furnished and packs. You waste the money you spent for furnished. because those essential furnitures can't be used in other houses.

Disappointed in the pricing after the recent well priced items.

This really shouldn't have costed any more than the cavern, the limited time should have been the cash boost, not an actual price hike.

What dumb logic is that? Earthtear Cavern costs 13k unfurnished.

You expect an entire island (one you can even swim around fully) to be the same or less?

I bought the island furnished :D
The only thing which makes them different to the manors is they're exclusives to the Crown Store.

ZOS has been getting a lot of flack recently for the absurd price hikes and what can only be described as greed regarding the Crown Store.

The more recent items and limited items have been well priced and they've had a lot of praise for it. With this they could have shown a little respect and said "because this is limited, we will charge the same as the cavern" but nope, just bold some more money on it.

One day I would love to actually hear from the person running the Crown Store pricing as to their logic behind this stuff, show some respect and treat your customers well and we'll buy stuff. Keep up the jacked up prices and scummy grabs and people will boycot more.

Nothing to do with greed; it's business. These are cosmetic items that aren't required by anyone to join the game. It's like buying a limited time leather jacket that's on sale for a premium price. Does anyone need a premium, limited leather jacket? Of course not. But no one says the company releasing such product is doing it for "greed". Gamers are too sensitive and need to learn a bit about business and economics.
I agree it's good business for them, but that doesn't make it any less scummy for the community you're creating the game for.

There are other MMO's which do far better with their cash shops and respect for the community. ZOS has constantly been attacked because of shady "cash grabs" and hiked up prices.

The last weeks looked like they may have learnt from that after the 6k motif, but this is once again a big cash grab rather than a nod of respect to the community.

That is not the case. I have 2 medium houses and 1 is furnished and I put some of the furniture in one of my other houses.

You mean $150 to $188? Wow. I usually do not complaint about stuff like this but who in his right mind will pay for this.

Plenty of people will, and it will be a successful digital product for them. The complainers here are in an extreme, extreme minority and are irrelevant. No one *needs* this island, it is extra. When people understand that they will be much happier. Either you have the money for it or you don't. That's the whole point of these expensive, limited time items.

You may be right about some people buying it but I still think everybody who buy this is either super rich or super ... I better shut up now.

P.S. How will this empty island make people much happier? Most people will probably get bored with it in 30 minutes or so. It does not even have things close by, i.e. like a teleporting tower.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Why that price if is only time limited? It doesn't make sense, I would buy it if it wasn't time limited, same for the furniture packs....it seems a really dumb business decission to me, since only a few players like it and would be able to buy it

Premium feature for a premium price. You have to accept that not everything is going to be "affordable" for everyone, or even most people. I am sure they will sell enough of these to make it worth while.

Earthtear is 13k but ISNT LIMITED so I don't understand your logic, my problem isn't on the price but on the abusive practice of being time limited

The limited time is part of the premium offering. The cost is not only in Crowns, but in being in the right place at the right time with those Crowns. I am not opposed to limited time offers. Our world is filled with them, and it is not abusive. I am not opposed to super expensive stuff, either. If it is important to you, buy it. If it is not important enough to be willing to buy it now at the price they ask, then it isn't that important to you. It is a luxury item, and a premium one, at that. Buy it, or don't. It does not get much simpler.

Forgetting the island for a moment, the island furniture packs are quite nice and reasonably priced. I may get a few of those to use in my Wayrest house.

Hey, whether you buy it or not is completely up to you. If you buy it, there is plenty of reason to be satisfied with that decision. If you don't buy it, there is plenty of reason to be satisfied with that decision.

I am not buying it. It is not that important to me. If it were important to me, I would definitely buy it. I used the island as my base of operations during the Homestead PTS. It is a fine place, with lots of room. With the high cost and limited time, it will be a status symbol in the game. Nothing wrong with that.

    Seriously?????

£72 for an island when the whole game costs £15 in some places??? Where is the pricing logic?

Unfortunately, supply and demand come into play, there will be players who will buy this and so ZOS is then justified.

Please don't take the proverbial out of your dedicated gamers ZOS.

Ok. I'm gonna buy the furnished one. I was wandering about these packs sold separately things. Like will I need them even with the furnished one? I've heard there's limits to what you can put in your house.

I really don't know anything about housing. LOL!

It's 700 furniture limit. Same as the manors and the Craglorn Cave. There is a trophy limit and collectible limit.

Try it out furnished first, see if you want to add to it. From there you can either buy from the Crown store, or craft it yourself. Note, you need housing recipes to craft items and the necessary components.

When you are inside your house you can buy individual items for crowns through that.

    Press D-pad Right + Circle

Use RB to tab to the right, there is a section called 'Purchase'

You can scroll through, and view other items you can buy here individually for crowns. One of which is basic crafting stations and also the target DPS dummy. There are also plants, trees, flowers and structural items you can buy if you want to make a deck or platform.

I would recommend saving some gold, and decorating your place with Covenant items or achievement items you earned by completing quests. The Aldmeri Dominion/Covenant Shield and siege you can get from PvP and put in your place. I absolutely love the Aldmeri Shield. :)

personally I think the price for earth tear and the other noble houses were outrageous as is.

This this is a whole new level of disgusting, 150 bloody dollars for a limited time house?! How does anyone there at ZoS see this as a good idea?!

For those willing to try and defend this price tag (or those not aware of just how silly it is to have a digital home that expensive) to put things in perspective this house alone costs more than the Morrowind Physical Collectors Edition.

Think about that, this lil island that offers you nothing costs more than an entire in game region, a playable class, an art book, a figurine, a map, and other numerous in game collectibles that you are more likely to see and use than you will ever this house.

I just bought the unfurnished version.

I had the crowns for it, and I don't do anything with those crowns, so....
And I chose the unfurnished version because the cost difference, but mostly because I'm not really a fan of the Argonian furniture-style. I will slowly build and arrange it as I see fit.

Yes, it's expensive but those crowns I got with my sub where just collecting dust.

.... and I still secretly hope that housing will one day have a real purpose cough*storage*cough....

The gaming world's definition of "limited" is different from a normal person's definition.
They mean that they will put it on for a period of time but will bring it back later on.

They spent time, effort, and resources on creating this fluff piece (and all the other ones). The assets are now there so they will keep bringing back time over time - the only thing that will change is the wording of the marketing campaign.
"Back by popular demand"; "this was such a big hit the first time around that we thought"; " it is the anniversary..."

This technique is done over and over.

The fact that it is all crowns will really limit the sales, imo. But this is their game so....

Could you please allow mounted travel on the island. This is a pretty big place to be on foot. My poor stamina is out in a matter of seconds.

P.S. Or perhaps allow unlimited sprinting while in your home/on your property?

Easy one. If it is not limited, people will wait until their subbed crowns sum up enough. If they offer it on limited times, people will have to buy crowns for cash, which is exactly what they want.

Don't spend your crowns and collect and collect, if you want to buy special things only offered this way.

Ok Zenimax you're telling me that you think this piece of real estate is worth 3 times the value of your entire game, that's a funny joke, look I love Grand Topal and I would buy the *** out of it, the place is great but not for the cost of 3 copies of this game.

There's gotta be something fundamentally wrong with someone or a whole bunch of people at ZOS, to think that a piece of optional content is worth 3 times the game.
I don't think I have seen any game ever sell a single item that was in their opinion worth 3x the games value do you respect the base game that little?

If you would humor me I would like to see an actual content update 3x the size of the base game and priced as such, I would happily buy the *** out of it.

Now I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of people who buy this and its an awesome house but at that price I would rather buy a few copies of another game and play that with friends as this is a really desperate money grab.

I'm gonna go buy my ticket now

    PC-EU

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

Thanks for the tips! I had some guildies over and explain some things for me. Hung pictures I'd been collecting all over the place. Placed my busts all over the island. It's pretty big island.

I got the furnished one and it already had like 300+ item in the house. I could see it becoming a problem further down the line, but I'm told there's lots of stuff I could take out and not even notice.

I knew it was coming and it's limited time offer, so bought crowns when they were on sale a few weeks ago. Wish I'd bought more but oh well.

I mean ive learned to live with ZOS 4 day scummy special home sale as if they need any more "business pratices" $$$$ but then we also get a house just completely gutted out the game is there not enough digital space to keep it around and bring it out for sale once a year ??
