I agree it's good business for them, but that doesn't make it any less scummy for the community you're creating the game for.dimensional wrote: »The only thing which makes them different to the manors is they're exclusives to the Crown Store.johnnified wrote: »Disappointed in the pricing after the recent well priced items.
This really shouldn't have costed any more than the cavern, the limited time should have been the cash boost, not an actual price hike.
What dumb logic is that? Earthtear Cavern costs 13k unfurnished.
You expect an entire island (one you can even swim around fully) to be the same or less?
I bought the island furnished
ZOS has been getting a lot of flack recently for the absurd price hikes and what can only be described as greed regarding the Crown Store.
The more recent items and limited items have been well priced and they've had a lot of praise for it. With this they could have shown a little respect and said "because this is limited, we will charge the same as the cavern" but nope, just bold some more money on it.
One day I would love to actually hear from the person running the Crown Store pricing as to their logic behind this stuff, show some respect and treat your customers well and we'll buy stuff. Keep up the jacked up prices and scummy grabs and people will boycot more.
Nothing to do with greed; it's business. These are cosmetic items that aren't required by anyone to join the game. It's like buying a limited time leather jacket that's on sale for a premium price. Does anyone need a premium, limited leather jacket? Of course not. But no one says the company releasing such product is doing it for "greed". Gamers are too sensitive and need to learn a bit about business and economics.

There are other MMO's which do far better with their cash shops and respect for the community. ZOS has constantly been attacked because of shady "cash grabs" and hiked up prices.
The last weeks looked like they may have learnt from that after the 6k motif, but this is once again a big cash grab rather than a nod of respect to the community.

Plenty of people will, and it will be a successful digital product for them. The complainers here are in an extreme, extreme minority and are irrelevant. No one *needs* this island, it is extra. When people understand that they will be much happier. Either you have the money for it or you don't. That's the whole point of these expensive, limited time items.

Premium feature for a premium price. You have to accept that not everything is going to be "affordable" for everyone, or even most people. I am sure they will sell enough of these to make it worth while.
Earthtear is 13k but ISNT LIMITED so I don't understand your logic, my problem isn't on the price but on the abusive practice of being time limited

The limited time is part of the premium offering. The cost is not only in Crowns, but in being in the right place at the right time with those Crowns. I am not opposed to limited time offers. Our world is filled with them, and it is not abusive. I am not opposed to super expensive stuff, either. If it is important to you, buy it. If it is not important enough to be willing to buy it now at the price they ask, then it isn't that important to you. It is a luxury item, and a premium one, at that. Buy it, or don't. It does not get much simpler.

I really don't know anything about housing. LOL!

This this is a whole new level of disgusting, 150 bloody dollars for a limited time house?! How does anyone there at ZoS see this as a good idea?!
For those willing to try and defend this price tag (or those not aware of just how silly it is to have a digital home that expensive) to put things in perspective this house alone costs more than the Morrowind Physical Collectors Edition.
Think about that, this lil island that offers you nothing costs more than an entire in game region, a playable class, an art book, a figurine, a map, and other numerous in game collectibles that you are more likely to see and use than you will ever this house.
