Honestly I couldn't care less what some wannabe streamer thinks about 'balance' or prepared a video with metallica music doing 1v30 (after 20 takes) or some 'theorycrafter' who thinks they are doing a discrete mathematics pHD in ESO - lol... I'll work out the builds for myself thanks

As for the developers of some awesome add-ons - thk you thk you.. And also guild masters who are super friendly and helpful.. thanks again!!

There are some good streamers and content creators out there but they are overshadowed by the toxic ones.

1% of add-on makers are a blight on the 99% of good ones out there. I would trade all 99% of the good ones if it meant we could get rid of the bad ones forever. Like Miats "I'm going to ruin Cyrodiil" add-on. Ugh.

Streamers are just annoying people who drink too much Mountain Dew.

That's not so much the streamer being deluded, that's the streamer's community being a puppet and not having an original thought in their head so the just repeated what their puppetmaster said because it sounds correct to them.

Most long time streamer have played the game since beta and have a lot of knowledge about the game, so they share their views.

If you don't like it don't watch, its better than making a random thread that server no purpose on the forum.

While I'm not a big fan of watching streamers myself, they do serve a purpose.

1. Advertisement for the game. Someone who is interested in the game may make a purchase after watching a stream because they want to see what the game is like before buying it. Obviously free play weekends are preferable to watching someone else play, but in absence of those, streamers fill this need.

2. They help players learn group content. You can learn how the mechanics of a trial or dungeon work before you even set foot in one which makes you a better player.

3. They can point out potential problems with the game. Streamers can show how certain build/gear combinations can actually be *gasp* over-powered, that is, performing far better than developers intended.

4. They can expose exploits in the game so that developers can be aware of exactly what the issue is, which gives them a better idea of how to fix it.

I'm sure there are more, but I think you get the idea.

I get your sentiment, in that I dislike the hero-worship of "celebs" as much as the next person, but collectively streamers streaming eso exposes the game to curious people who might not otherwise be exposed to it, but also motivates those who already own the game to play. I am more likely to play after watching someone stream. Streamers generate "hype" for the game. There is an eso "community" and streams can be seen as out-of-game hubs for the community. It's also not easy to stream regularly and consistently, so those who manage to should be given credit for it; they are giving up their time to promote the game. There is a financial incentive but it has to be worked for, it's not an easy source of revenue. The makers of the addons, and even the makers of the game should be given credit too, eso is an incredible product.

If you still think that Miat's is the only addon that provides that functionality, you're delusional. He has done us all a great service by making it public.

Also, can we please stop that hate propaganda? The addon has been through ZOS' machinery and they are fine with it. They patched the API to remove what was unintended. Get over it.

Not sure how much exposure the game is actually getting these days. There are so few ESO streamers on Twitch and it comes down to the communities of a few extremely toxic, high profile players. What happens is people from those communities will go into the channel of someone who doesn't have the profile and that is just playing the game for fun and start hounding them for their choices such playing PvE or their gear setup not being "meta"

I was pointing toward their post in regards to what they mentioned about the grass roots community growing up around them. The communities built up around streamers can be fanatic in nature. They all don't necessarily reflect what the streamer is saying. Yet some warp it into their own biases.

I play the game and hang out with the more chill, fun ESO streamers and former streamers. People that aren't interested in being the best but just want to play the game. I also lead a guild in game.

hahaha... no i dont want to sit there with a huge background of ESO and a wannabe microphone and after trying 100 times post a video about a '1vX experience'.

I just find every time i do stumble upon one of their videos they seem like they are full of themselves... then i read one of them right a phrase like '1vX experience' to demonstrate that they are 'above' 1v1 and only do a minimum of 1v10 and then stream it.. and these are the same people Zenimax invited to some playschool event... please..

As for the geniuses who have written some awesome pc addons.. i dont even know who they are but would much rather give them praise which is wqhat i am doing.

I have also come across some awesome guildmasters and guildies.
Again - you dont know who they are...

as if i would know which streamer is running around in cyro - and if someone gets '1vX''ed then by definition there were 'X' people and not just themselves... lol

No add-ons on consoles. Nothing to ruin the game for us aside from ZOS. I mean the double mundus exploits, the HIst Bark exploit among others were only possible due to certain add-ons. Also, why would anyone need an add-on to tell them when their ultimate is ready or when they need to dodge? Add-ons just dumb down the game aside from the ones that just offer quality of life features that should have already been in the game. Whereas theory crafting and maths actually allow you to perform better without having to rely on add ons that tell you everything.
