Lets face it, ESO is HUGE. Having TWO of them on the same drive is just not an option for me. Please add an option in the launcher that allows us to install the PTS to a different drive than the main game. Thanks.

Now THAT is a very, very valid request.
The absence of such a feature is the reason why I have moved both versions (live and pts) on my HDD. Else I'd have kept live on my SSD and PTS on HDD.
And I know of many, many people who'd love to join PTS but cannot because of HDD space issues.

Can't you copy the install that is on the main drive to a secondary drive and then run it from the secondary drive? Just use the launcher that you copied over to the second drive and you should be fine.

I have the live server on my main HD and the PTS on the secondary drive and it runs fine.

I run separate games on separate HD's, it's the pat,h download speed that kills it for me

Usually copying the live data to the PTS folder doesn't work so well, the patcher doesn't know what to do with it.
So you have to download and install it to the main drive your live is on first, and then move the PTS folder elsewhere. If you don't have enough space on an SSD to do this, it becomes a pain.

Yeah I don't remember how I did it...

There is actually a relatively simple solution to this:

    http://gsngaming.com/topic/8190-moving-individual-games-to-ssd/

You kind of want to do the opposite of the guy in the tutorial, by moving a game from the SSD to a HDD but the steps are the same. The mklink lets your computer behave as if the game was still installed in the original place, even though the files are located on your HDD.

That's how I solved the problem and I hope it helps you guys!

I used to do this when the launchers for NA/EU were different had my NA game and launcher on my normal HD and my EU game on my SSD, now it's all in one launcher in struggling to get the PTS to install onto my normal drive it keeps saying no space since my SSD doesn't have room for another 80GB download

You can already do this. I have my PTS install of the game on a hard drive and the live install on my SSD.

Junctions are great, but it still requires downloading it to the SSD first and then moving it. Which doesn't solve the OP's problem of not having enough room to even download it.

For those of you who have no space to do this, you CAN actually download/run the launcher installer again, this time selecting your other drive, once it is installed go into settings and enable viewing the PTS and install from there.

You can not run both launchers at once, but they will remain separate.

I have the live game on my SSD and the PTS on a HDD. I think what I did was copy my ESO folder (The Zenimax Online folder) from my SSD to a storage drive. Then ran the launcher from the copy of the game on my storage drive, click the gear in the top right and click show PTS, then download the PTS. Once its completely done downloading and installing the PTS, you will have two folders in that "Zenimax Online" folder. One will say "The Elders Scroll Online" and "The Elders Scroll Online PTS", you can delete the regular ESO folder since you will only be using this copy for the PTS.

That's the setup I've had for quite a while.

Might be based upon automatic archive procedure. For example, on NA it's in Live, but there is a Live_Archive for the previous Patch.

PTS was only PTS_Archive until I was accepted to the ESO:M Closed Beta, I now have PTS and PTS_Archive for Homestead test stuff.

    Just a guess.

For this option, it's really incredible that people with such a degree level don't think about it for a moment, that this must be normal on a Launcher, but that a simple player thinks about it !!!
