I think female bodies look way better than male bodies, so I only play female characters in every game I can

I think that the armour and clothing in the game usually looks better on a male character - especially considering they fashion their armour on male torso's and just chuck a pair of boobs on it when making for females.

Being female, I have nearly all female characters with 2 exceptions - a male Khajiit and a male Orc. It took me a while to get used to the male running animations, they kind of seemed ungainly to me, but I especially love my Khajiit, he's awesome.

I mainly play female characters because I'm female, but I do have a male alt in this game. In other games, if the females are given armor and costumes that are too slutty, I will roll male alts instead. Honestly they are characters to me, not really so much extensions of myself. It's like I'm looking over the shoulder of a character I'm following, like in a book. I have no issues with playing opposite alt genders or people that do so.

    But not in this game.

In this game the males looks badass, have nice postures, they carry weapons like alpha males and run and use skills like they are Greek gods.

I swear the male animations are so good in this game compared to others games where they are horrible *cough*gw2*cough*.

I'm a male and prefer to play female characters. I do not know how to make handsome male character. They are all ugly for me. I do not like males, really.
I still have 4 male toons. 1 ugly male orc tank, 1 imperial, 1 redguard :tanks and 1 Dunmer dd. Do not like their visuals.
But I have pretty female main and 7 alts of different races. They are nice.

I've been playing all female toons in ESO. I'm female, and just feel closer to the characters when they're female, too.
In a previous Elder Scrolls game (Oblivion, I think), once I did play a male character, and had fun making him the opposite of myself. He was a giant bearded Nord with tattoos. I liked him for a while, but I identify more with the female characters.

    Both,

occasionally I may do all male in a game or all female, mood dictates.

First time I did the latter sort of did it as a charles (censored correct word???) angels thing with me as charlie, safe at home sending my employees into all sorts of dangerous situations. Equality is a great thing.

Sometimes I really identify with a toon and to this day have absolutely no idea why. Some of my favourites started life as pack mules but for whatever reason ended up with the majority of play time.

All 12 my characters are male, one looks identical to me ( Augustus Septim ), the others have all been given a lot of time for customization to be as perfect as I wanted them to be. I often deleted characters into the level 10''s-20's if I found that I made an imperfection.

The worst part was if you spent 10-20mins on character customization and after making it you realised you didn't change the alliance by accident  and after you enter the prison you knew you had to delete that char again.

On my second account I made a female once to see how attractive I could make her, was impressed by the game. Then deleted her and I made most characters on that account beast races just to push my creativity.

That's interesting, because it's EXACTLY the reason I do the opposite. Female tanks in heavy armour kicking ass, and male mages in light robes being all frail on the back lines. Anything that breaks tradition looks way more interesting to me, and that's something ESO offers in spades with all the different character builds. My main is a female StamSorc in medium armour swinging around a greatsword, but I have a mix of male and female characters.

Playing both genders being a female, I don't really associate myself with my characters but just treat them as my buddies, I'd say. Travel companions, fellow adventurers :) Sometimes even having ''mom's feelings'' towards them xD

But I enjoy my girls wearing heavy armor and being tanks, and my boys mostly as mages/thieves. Made a DK male tank recently though, for a change. For a Warden I'd probably go both genders too.

Most of the games I like don't give me the option to play female characters, or the classes/types of characters in the game I wish to play are not females... so whenever I can, I enjoy creating female characters. I do own male chars in ESO btw. it's not that I only play one gender xD

Saints Row 3 and 4, Skyrim and ESO have been pretty much the only games I have played, where I could freely choose my gender.
....Saints Row games did it best to be honest, I mean it allowed me to costumize the hell out of my character, and I loved it so much <3

I have really only one character and she is a small, magically inclined elf. So it has been for me across several games for well over a decade. I am not her - I travel with her and she is a dear friend. ESO is her current home.

I guess the origins of her gender spawn from Diablo II where playing a mage or mystic archer type character class dictated her gender.

I've tried other characters of both genders but this one is so much a part of me that any others just don’t feel natural. What we are able to do is manifest her in ESO as both a magplar (healer) and a magsorc (pets/dps) – but her heart in ESO is primarily in the magplar.
