Animations/Animation Cancelling Changes

In Dark brotherhood changes were made to the way animations worked in this game, I believe this change was not healthy to PvP and did not see anyone complaining about this rather people were complaining when this change was implemented as they did not feel it was a good change.
This is a petition to revert the changes that were made in DB and return animations/animation cancelling back to the way it was pre Darkbrotherhood.

    Because of the DB changes we have 2h users that are charging up their dizzying swings during their crit rush making it hard to see or respond to.

    Also some skills don't cancel as well as they used to, which makes it feel clunky.

    Yeah they ruined animations and introduced macro slice which is what you just described.

    Why no option to make them better than current and better than pre-DB? Both iterations are pretty broken and embarrassing IMO.

    As long as they fix being able to heavy attack during dizzying swing (wrecking blow back then), which those changes were intended to address.

    Yea, that was the patch where they overbuffed heavy armor, proc sets, and stam sorc, and half of the eso community started getting carried. Easily the lowest balance point of the game since I started PvPing in 1.6.

    Canceling is far more clunky since the DB changes, occasionally LA/MA/HA won't go off when canceling. Some skills do whatever they want these days, others make the combat system feel a lot less fluid.

    Bring back preDB animation canceling!

    What's sad is that we overwhelming told them it was busted in PTS. They agreed to revert them. And then they gave us the same busted changes with just a minor change to the blocking priority.

    They actually designed it so the graphics that you see is potentially *not* what your character is actually doing. Clunky is an understatement.

    YES, I absolutely HATE the animation change, it's been one of my biggest complaints! Combat has felt so clunky ever since. I really wish they would revert it to pre-DB. :s

    I've a sneaking suspicion that the sprint lock glitch that occurs frequently with stamina toons running dual wield is a direct result of the animation priority changes that were released with Dark Brotherhood. The combat hitching is a serious issue and when coupled with other command inputs we either get stuck in a sprint or forced into the macro slice where all of your inputs are queued and then dumped in one frame.

    It's probably too late to go back as with any iterative development program, someone's likely built something on top of the new priority code that will not work in the old. I'd not hold my breath on ZoS backing out this mistake.

    Yea honestly made this post out of boredom and hope that it might sway them to change it back to how it used to be, but I doubt they will change it.

    I wish we could go back to proper animations.... I have gotten used to the games current broken animation system so much that when I saw this poll I was like.... oh ya... sword and board animations are horrendous and so broken at times.

    Clearly ZOS hasn't gotten a handle on oh to fix the animation issues so why not revert back?

    Don't care much either way. I hated the animation change with 1.6 and later the physics changes though. The only thing i really liked was the new frost/flame idle position and being able to tell them apart from resto.

      Guys, ZOS is already on top of this. They are testing a new animation system, you can all preview it by putting on a goblin costume and going dual wield or mounting your horse.

      The new system will be called "No Animations"!
