You will never get an answer on that. If they start to tell people how they look at things like this people will just start to get even more creative :)

Its nice to know but not need to know :)

Your explanation can be found in the TOS!
No, it can't. That's why this whole thing is a huge PITA and people want clearer messages from ZOS.
    Promote, upload, transmit, encourage or take part in any activity involving hacking, cracking, phishing, taking advantage of exploits or cheats and/or distribution of counterfeit software and/or Virtual Currency or virtual items. In an effort to continuously improve the Services, You and other players discovering exploits, cheats, cracks or other inconsistencies are required to report them to ZeniMax;
Nowhere in there does it state working with a rival faction to farm is a breach of ToS. The fact that Jessica said that this was the first time they've ever taken such action and that's why suspension goes to reinforce just how unclear ZOS was on this issue.

They do need to have better guidelines or faster communication when something like this happens.

Bolded the parts there that maybe your confused about. So people using a broken mechanic to (in this case) gain "Virtual Currency" Which includes AP, is how ZoS sees it. I'm sorry, but if the OP participated? Then they are subject to the consequences.

edit (open the second previous quote for bolded parts)

Recently you banned several accounts for "flipping of keeps in a coordinated effort". I'd like to get an explanation in order to understand several things about this action.
    1. When people asked if it's an exploit you simply ignored it and provided no answers. They only thing you've said during eso live was "we noticed certain behaviours".
    2. Why were only certain account suspended? I mean do you ban people the same way your RNG works in game? Randomly? How do you decide who is the worst offender and who isn't?
    3. Will be people be banned because they grind experience in Skyreach? It falls under your "coordinated effort to inflate Experience Points".
    4. Why send a banwave now? What took you so long? But again, I genuinely don't understand why it's an exploit and would like to hear your opinion on this. I mean "coordinated effort" can't be the real reason right? People organising duels in Cyrodiil should get banned as well in that case, but they are not. PVE grinders should be banned, but they are not.

ZOS should have been involved from the beginning. ZOS was silent about resource flipping for far to long to start a suspension 30 days after the fact.

ZOS should have used a different word instead of using 'coordinate'. They have already said that coordinating with the 'enemy' to get a scroll is not against the TOS. You can even deliver a scroll right to their own keep. But, coordinating with the enemy to get AP is.

ZOS needs to be consistent. While it is a good thing that ZOS is taking an active role in the game, they need to be consistent. We can all go into the game and find the bots, but for some reason ZOS can't or won't.

For the record, I was not suspended nor banned.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that they only suspended 170 people where it should have been at least 1500, i was there, i saw so many people involved. If it is a crime it should not matter if you participate for 2 hours, 2 days or 5 days, on one toon or on 6 different ones just trying to unlock vigor / prox deton while afk

There are a lot of people with butter on their heads, but you wont see them writing about it.
the server was poplocked for days with a 45 min queue on it and everyone was there for only one reason.

and the fact zenimax did not take five minutes of their time to post one comment that it was not allowed but they would not bring down the server to hotfix it.
If you compare this to the communication about the jester festival ending one day early, they made a comment right away and then hotfixed it the next day just makes me feel i was abused on purpose

would i have known i would be suspended i would not have taken part and spent my 90 hours playtime differently.
You can laugh all you like about my saltiness but i feel i was baited into wasting my time, and now i just lost all trust in them tbh
I wonder why i even came back to this game after 14 months to check out the pvp. just to be punished for the noob that i am.

Edit: i did my research, i checked the forums but what was confusing to me was that everyone said it was a stresstrest for the no cp week, they tried to bring as many people into pvp as they could. And being gone for so long i saw total noobs from the past run around with general ranks and i noticed the ap gain was so much higher as in 2015. So i thought zeni probably stopped caring about ap. They just want people to test the server for their data. I am angry that they did not communicate more clearly about this. And i think the 1330 people that got away with participating are probably feeling the same.

ban players for having fun and lots of lols

keep players who run 2 mundus exploit, underground add-ons and cheat engine play around uninterrupted

and lets just ignore the people who made over 200 yellow upgrade materials each in some days with the 5000 crowns banker because thats how it works when you pay real money
