Id also like to see tournaments
@NightbladeMechanics This would be so sick
One idea is a group of 5+ buddies join a 4v4v4 on multiple factions and do nothing, causing their teams to lose, and just conning the 6 or so losers out of their mandatory bet and splitting it with the players who helped lose. There's far better ways to make some coin, but don't underestimate people who WANT to ruin your day.
Despite all that, it sound like a good way to make some coin! I'm fresh out of columbine, so...
Something I've always felt that ESO PVP lacked was risk. Your gear doesn't break, you don't need to use supplies if you don't want to, you lose nothing upon death, and you take nothing from those you kill.
I'd like to propose an extra game mode for battlegrounds: the wager match. There could be several different "buy in" prices (1k, 5k, 10k) per person, which would contribute to a pot to be distributed amongst the winning team. This would provide a new form of competitive play with some real risk behind it, aside from the occasional teabag or cheeky banter.
Obviously, just like everything in pvp, there would be some balance issues (unkillable builds, proc set stacking, multiple destro ultimate, etc) but I'm sure these could be dealt with by those willing to put the thought in.
I'd just like some opinions. Would people like to see something like this introduced?
Gonna be tough to find a game in something that utilizes the group finding function with that high of a bid. I myself have no issues with forming a good team to run 50k wagers and take people's money, however the lack of people qued for that would likely make it redundant to the idea of "making money" while pvping, since long wait times will be spent earning nothing.
The real exploitation we would need to worry about would be stacking destro ultimates, groups of 4 templars (mag or stam) overlapping heals so hard that they can't be killed, or just proc stacking teams in general.
Options to prevent these exploits: Setting limitations such as one destro ult per team, only 2 identical classes per team, limiting proc sets to a single proc per person maximum, etc. I'm not too sure HOW they would implement these restrictions as I'm not familiar with this type of mechanic, although I'm sure it is possible.

Against a destro ult dump, pop a resto ult, spread, cross heal until they end, then converge again. No big deal. Procs haven't been an issue for a while either.
I do worry more about full tank teams.
