That happened with me today...I was level 45 and rest were 10-20. The tank was doing terrible, the other dps was light attacking with an ice staff (sorc), healer was alright, tank wasn't keeping aggro much.
Also the funniest thing was...they reset the boss that had spiders around it. They killed the spiders first even though i said not too.
So she was 20% HP and they reset her.
I left after that. Can't deal with people like that.

Fungal grotto yes, remember we used 4 hours on it once back after launch. P
Not killing the spiders is new for me, perhaps an changed mechanic.

Found Gaymne Bandu and Spawn of Mephala hardest.

Had my most stupid fight in CoA 2 normal, I was dps, we wiped on first boss and tank left, part of the problem was that the other dps did not attack the healing mini boss and that we dps should take him out first, healer complained that I ran to far off killing him so I slotted an healing skill.
New tank, level 49, one sword, no shield, that is empty second hand, did not notice first, thought he went dual wield on trash.
But notice after wipe, asked him about shield but got no answer.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Thing is, even with low DPS, three people can kill one of those adds.

That dungeon is one where you need people who understands mechanics and work together.

Out of interest, what you running on your saptank? It's my favourite thing to do in Pve by far.

About the light bow attacks -

Could it be that the player doesn't have the confidence to close into melee range with the boss, and then spams light bow attacks in order to stay far away?

When my latency increases beyond 400 ms it is very risky for me to get into melee range, so it is then when I find myself spamming heavy bow attacks, poison injection, shrouded daggers, relentless focus and siphoning attacks. If the boss stands still or if there are several mobs I'll add arrow barrage. I'll go back into melee range if the boss' current attack is a red cone, then I'll add rearming trap and go back to my melee bar. In these situations I always feel that I'm helping more by staying alive, albeit with lower DPS, than by dying. Have to say, I won't blame my group for kicking me when my latency goes that bad.

Players wanting/needing to stay at range is not the issue. It's the only using light bow attacks.

If they are weaving bow LA with other range skills then it's all good.

To the OP: Just be glad you didnt make it to the last boss with that group. Usally my groups go as following: everything goes smooth up untill the spider...then its wipe after wipe as nobody (me included sadly) has no clue about the mechanics, as they seem to shift everytime I get to that point.

    1) DPS need schools...

    2) your a tank...Why would you ever not take dps friends?

    3) tank should help DPS add as should healer and focus be on 1. Alot of tanks make this mistake. If DPS is weak everyone got to kill add

    4) if you stack shields ...You won't die from it >.>

    5) there's a method to avoid the NB tanglment by spreading out.corner method.

    6) cc the adds if need be.

    7. try slowing down adds.

8.) Tell them to save ultimate and use only on add.

    9) just keep rezzing and attack boss.

That boss is a real pain to begin with so I will never PUG it, since many other bosses in that dung are pains as well. But yeah 7k is not enough.. I also run a NB sap tank, but more focused on tanking and therefore have only 3-5k damage but my DD's usually make up for that more than enough..

having recently jumped from EU to NA, I must say there is a real shortage of experienced players on the NA. i ve never encountered the misery that i have playing with PUGs on this server. Im not saying that players are worse- just that alot of players that have the experience have left NA it seems. you walk around any guild centre like deshaan or storm haven and half the players on EU are max cp and have played a long time- the thing with having experienced players is that they teach new players. On the NA I've run into guys who have played for 3 weeks who start guilds that have 200 people in them, and max CP players who have NEVER run dungeons, only pvp and farmed/grinded there way to CP.

i blame all these double XP events- they've accelerated people - like having people skip junior year and go straight to senior. it took me 6 months to get to cp400- by then id learned a lot about dungeons and become a vma champ in 2 classes- but i had to go thru the learning. i know its just a game- but all pushing people ahead is actually ruining the experience for alot of players.

your not qualified to run a vet version of a dungeon imo until you've done normal at least a few times - know the mechanics and are properly geared out. now its CP30 and straight to vet.

One way would be an addon, ftc is still popular though no longer updated, there're many others though. Combat Metrics is one I'm trying out now to see if it can replace ftc I think.

Another way would be target skeletons they've introduced with Homestead - they tell you the dps you've done after the parse is over(either skele dies or you leave combat). I'd say go for an addon anyway though, that's gonna tell you what skills contributed the most and other useful stuff along with actual number. Plus you don't need a skele dummy for an addon to work ;)

On a more serious ground: Yes, the 2nd FG2-boss is nasty for many random groups. Many players are simply overwhelmed by the game, and even if you tell them to watch out for the misery-band etc. they will simply not see it because there is so much else going on. And many DDs are just too weak to kill the chainers.

When I'm doing that dungeon with randoms and I see that the rest of the group is not having enough dps for the chainers, I tell them to just let me die when chained and rezz quickly afterwards. Works pretty well in most cases.

Too many people grinded their cps in dolmen and didn't play the game in the process. That's why you see so many high cps in vet dungeons, who have no *** idea what they're doing.
And pugs have problems with any boss that have the slightest mechanics. I guess the collective iq drops when people use the group finder

I'm guilty of grinding my level on a couple of toons using the Dolmen method.... I regret doing it because I still don't know how to play as a Mag DK. Still a noob regards to my current CP capped.

I refuse to join a vet dungeon because my grinded toons are just awful.

Randomly, has anyone noticed the chains (sword) NOT killing them on vet? Last few times i was in there as long as i had 100% health when the sword hit me I'd get up with just under 2k health, roll away shield up and heal. This was on my pet sorc with just over 20k health.

I was holding block and tapping x the entire time just in case (although I'm sure it does nothing).

Must be a thing they have learned at the dolmens.... When you see a arrow/acid spray sharpshooter that never goes melee in a dungeon you can quite safely assume, that player is just really bad.
Anyway - logic dictates if you dont have the confidence and/or decent ping dont join the damn vet dungeon runs.

I run a NB sap tank, cp 330. I'm no pro tank by any means but I typically have no trouble holding aggro, gathering up mobs with swarm mothers, providing off heals to my squad throwing the occasional orb towards the magicka dps or healer, and you know tank the boss. Basic Sap tank stuff.

For whatever reason yesterday I ran with 3 PUGs that all wiped multiple times on FG2's Vet 2nd boss Gmayne Bandu(sp?)

Each time I asked everybody if the knew the fights, every time all yes's from everybody. Then this boss fight comes around no one was doing any of the mechanics. People would get beams snd stand next to each other and die, someone would get chained down, I'd pierce armor one to mark it while still keeping the boss's aggro and everybody would attack a different shade... with 3 different PUGs I'd say we had a 20% success rate on chained people.

I'm a relatively patient guy so after the first wipe I'd explain the mechanics and strategy, everybody would roger up and we'd have he same results. I finally gave up on people splitting beams off me( since I can survive it) and would run away from them with the boss and tow in an attempt to save them and they'd run right after me until they died.

One guy shared his DPS report with me in an attempt to show his lack of dps wasn't the problem. He was doing 7k... I was doing 7-10k as the tank...

After the 3rd groups 3rd wipe I said you know what it must just be me and walked away from the game for the day. (No I didn't quit forever and you can't has my stuff)

Sorry for the rant ya'll. Does any one else struggle with this dungeon with PUGs? I haven't seen a group struggle with mechanics so hard aside from the Planar Inhibitor in WGT.

just wondering, is it possible the 7k dps guy was running combat metrics? because honestly, if you dont post the correct DPS report (there are four to choose from) then it wont have shown his full total dps.

True, watching bosses health bar going down sooo slowly and there is nothing you can do about it is so frustrating. But I do it anyway because you dont have to deal will hour long DPS que. And you might get lucky and get a decent grp.

Hmm. I know they used to oneshot me as a 50k health tank. There used to be a way to stop that without killing the ads - a charge would stop the sword from hitting altogether but they've removed it recently(...again. Seems it comes and goes lol). I suppose it could've been changed. Or maybe you just got an insanely lucky bug ;)

I've actually realized I'd rather tank/healer than dps in pugs lol. As a dps I'm too dependant on healer/tank. As a healer/tank, much less so(short of some dps races), plus at least I can be sure there'll be heals/taunts.
