About the light bow attacks -
Could it be that the player doesn't have the confidence to close into melee range with the boss, and then spams light bow attacks in order to stay far away?
When my latency increases beyond 400 ms it is very risky for me to get into melee range, so it is then when I find myself spamming heavy bow attacks, poison injection, shrouded daggers, relentless focus and siphoning attacks. If the boss stands still or if there are several mobs I'll add arrow barrage. I'll go back into melee range if the boss' current attack is a red cone, then I'll add rearming trap and go back to my melee bar. In these situations I always feel that I'm helping more by staying alive, albeit with lower DPS, than by dying. Have to say, I won't blame my group for kicking me when my latency goes that bad.
I know this is a noob question, to measure your DPS are you using an addon?

One way would be an addon, ftc is still popular though no longer updated, there're many others though. Combat Metrics is one I'm trying out now to see if it can replace ftc I think.
Another way would be target skeletons they've introduced with Homestead - they tell you the dps you've done after the parse is over(either skele dies or you leave combat). I'd say go for an addon anyway though, that's gonna tell you what skills contributed the most and other useful stuff along with actual number. Plus you don't need a skele dummy for an addon to work
Too many people grinded their cps in dolmen and didn't play the game in the process. That's why you see so many high cps in vet dungeons, who have no *** idea what they're doing.
And pugs have problems with any boss that have the slightest mechanics. I guess the collective iq drops when people use the group finder

I run a NB sap tank, cp 330. I'm no pro tank by any means but I typically have no trouble holding aggro, gathering up mobs with swarm mothers, providing off heals to my squad throwing the occasional orb towards the magicka dps or healer, and you know tank the boss. Basic Sap tank stuff.
For whatever reason yesterday I ran with 3 PUGs that all wiped multiple times on FG2's Vet 2nd boss Gmayne Bandu(sp?)
Each time I asked everybody if the knew the fights, every time all yes's from everybody. Then this boss fight comes around no one was doing any of the mechanics. People would get beams snd stand next to each other and die, someone would get chained down, I'd pierce armor one to mark it while still keeping the boss's aggro and everybody would attack a different shade... with 3 different PUGs I'd say we had a 20% success rate on chained people.
I'm a relatively patient guy so after the first wipe I'd explain the mechanics and strategy, everybody would roger up and we'd have he same results. I finally gave up on people splitting beams off me( since I can survive it) and would run away from them with the boss and tow in an attempt to save them and they'd run right after me until they died.
One guy shared his DPS report with me in an attempt to show his lack of dps wasn't the problem. He was doing 7k... I was doing 7-10k as the tank...
After the 3rd groups 3rd wipe I said you know what it must just be me and walked away from the game for the day. (No I didn't quit forever and you can't has my stuff)
Sorry for the rant ya'll. Does any one else struggle with this dungeon with PUGs? I haven't seen a group struggle with mechanics so hard aside from the Planar Inhibitor in WGT.
By the way....as a tank I am quite used to break LOS to gather mob crowds from other MMOs. I got the feeling people dont really do that here in TESO because everytime I do that in PUGs, people always seem very suprised like WTH am I doing.

Randomly, has anyone noticed the chains (sword) NOT killing them on vet? Last few times i was in there as long as i had 100% health when the sword hit me I'd get up with just under 2k health, roll away shield up and heal. This was on my pet sorc with just over 20k health.
I was holding block and tapping x the entire time just in case (although I'm sure it does nothing).
I've actually realized I'd rather tank/healer than dps in pugs lol. As a dps I'm too dependant on healer/tank. As a healer/tank, much less so(short of some dps races), plus at least I can be sure there'll be heals/taunts.Strider_Roshin wrote: »I'd rather dps with pugs than tank. In Minion it says it was last updated March 2016? Which one is better FTC or Combat metrics do you think?
