Okay enough of this lore business just game dynamics. Where does an Imperial go when s/he enters Cyrodiil? Is it decided in character creation or what?

Next time I won't bother answering your questions, then.
Pro-tip, though : while being rude is a very efficient way to not get your questions answered next time, an even more efficient way is to not ask in the first place.

I am in a playful not rude mood today but you cannot gain that insight I suppose from reading text. Do not so easily take offense. Forums are hard to show the emotion of the poster. But if you intend this to become troll bantering I will not partake. Ease down on the coffee I am not out to get you.

You asked if the Imperials took side in the ESO alliance war. That is a lore question. I answered you. Not only did you not say "thank you", but you also write "enough with this lore business, just game dynamics".
I'm not judging your person, I don't care about your current mood, I don't take offense, I just read your words, which are rude as a matter of fact.
If you don't want to even consider that your question was wrongly worded and that your reaction was wrong too, there's nothing more I can do.
That's all for me on this thread because I don't want to pollute it further and I don't want trouble with the moderation.

Despite the fact that I'm in EP, my personal fav is AD. Simply because I enjoy its quests and areas the most.

DC is my least fav. I was struggling to complete its storyline. Dull and boring (except for Rivenspire). Doing it was a painful experience. And most of its areas look the same.

AD has some of the best zones in my opinion. Auridon being great. T1 was great since it gave me back a place I had long out leveled. Generally speaking I prefer AD zones overall for the aesthetics, including Cyrodiil.

EP, especially in Cyrodiil though has great aesthetics, a great story line all the way up to the Rift, and Mother Morrowind. Sorry but the Rift story line just bores me to death.

That said though, there is something I enjoy in each zone with Rivenspire probably being my top. It's menacing with pockets of beauty all around, and who doesn't like a place called "Doomcrag" right? Overall though, I've chosen my home to be AD because at the end of it I just prefer those zones and have found people I enjoy playing with mostly there for PvP. Though a thought now is this, those that have just started playing since T1 and can play any faction with friends in another faction; how will they feel in a years time or so? It was so different two years ago when I rolled my first AD and all I ever saw was other AD players.

Why is there a lack of EP or why is it the less favoured faction on this thread? :open_mouth::confused:

Well in my case I found that most of the zone quest lines fell flat story-wise and felt a little disconnected. While there were a small handful of Pact NPCs that I really liked, there were a great deal that I assume I was supposed to care about but I just didn't find very interesting; so that made it hard for me to engage with what was happening. I also felt nothing towards the head of the faction, Jorunn, who rocked up at the end and spent half of it unconscious - he just seemed dull and distant compared to the other two, who I met fairly early on and made appearances throughout the story.

I know people who think that the Pact story is the best one though! It's just a matter of personal preference :).

Aldmeri Dominion has far and away the best characters and writing, and I always play altmer in any TES game, so it gets my vote. I love the Morrowind and Black Marsh zones of Ebonheart Pact though, and it has NARYU, so it's my number 2. With the sole exception of Alik'r, DC is a giant pile of snooze.

DC and Aldmeri were close. I like both. Stories for both were entertaining. Zones are fun and pretty. NPC toons you deal with are pretty fun. All I can say for sure was that I did not like the pact. I did not like any of the npc's and while it was nice playing in lands of old (previous games) in the pact, I did not find them as eye catching or appealing to me as the other two factions. Sorry pact lovers. Did not like that faction.

I chose DC from the start because I assumed that...
1/ EP would be full of "Skyrim online" kiddies
2/ AD would be full of "let's play high elf "Thalmor" supremacists".

DC was a fairly "new" zone for ES fans with plenty of new lore. so I assumed the community would be generally more adult and open minded.

While all this, I admit, is full of assumptions and cliches, the ingame experience happened to be somewhat close to my expectations, so I stuck to DC and still do now.

That being said, DC has, in my opinion and taste, the worst landscapes and the worst main quest of the three alliances, and were it not about the community, I would choose AD hands down (best leader, best scenario, best zones ever).

I like the varied cultures of the Pact. They're all so different from each other I love the Argonians and they're pyramids in the swamp. DC is bland and boring. I like the areas of AD but elves are meh. Khajiit are cool though. It's too bad they got conned by the snobby high elves.

I'm conflicted on this because bosmer are my favorite race but I hate the high elves. Especially when you know the future butttt it's the thalmor who are the problem. Not the high elves them selves. So I'm gonna go with AD for the wood elves and khajiit. High elves suck lol

I initially started off with the DC, and I loved Glenumbra especially. Seeing Daggerfall for the first time blew me away, and I loved the whole feeling of swindling and smuggling on the pirate-infested island of Stros M'Kai. Furthermore, I also love the Medieval, chivalrous feeling of the territories of High Rock, (save for Rivenspire, which I didn't enjoy as much), and the majesty of the soundtrack for the Covenant also had me in utter awe, as a new player. Returning to it, it seems a little bland and unimpressive, but the beauty of High Rock, and the sheer scale of its cities really impressed me - I never really liked King Emeric, but the Daggerfall Covenant does hold some nice memories of my early time playing ESO. However, I have to say that my blade firmly belongs to the glory of the Aldmeri Dominion.

Granted, the reputation of the AD has been tarnished by the disagreeable snobs of the Third Aldmeri Dominion in Skyrim, (and the oh-so-mighty Thalmor), but I find that the AD has the most believable quests and likeable characters. While I liked Lord Verandis Ravenwatch a lot, he was the only character in the DC questlines that I really warmed to, (save for maybe the mischievous antics of Darien Gautier); comparatively, characters like Razum-Dar, Queen Ayrenn , Captain Jimila, and Aranias, are very memorable, and I couldn't help but warm to them. Moreover, the AD quests have some of the most convincing antagonists - High Kinlady Estre best exemplifies this, for me, because to this day I am still disgusted whenever I see her in Coldharbour. Ayrenn seems the most level-headed of all the leaders - displaying the least ego, and also she seems to give being reasonable a semi-decent stab - she is also, as I see it, the one that the Vestige forms the most intimate and believable bond with. The territories of the Dominion are varied and each beautiful - the architecture between the perfectionist Altmer, earthy Bosmer, and intricate Khajiit easily distinguishable - and their music and generic landscape conveying a true sense of beauty and magic. I like the DC, though my blood serves firmly beneath the Eagle's Banner.

As for the EP, well... ...I got bored of that questline; it felt very detached and distanced, unlike the significance you feel when a respected friend of Ayrenn and an Eye of the Queen. Truth be told, I'm still yet to properly sit down and give the Pact a proper playthrough, so I'll have to do that at some point. Either way, my blade belongs to the Dominion, and while I've dabbled in the armies of the other two Alliances, (secretly spying for Aldmeri glory  ), that's how it'll stay!

Besides, the Dominion has this guy, so uh... ...yeah... :sunglasses:

I usually stick with the AD simply because of my kinship with the Khajiit race. Although, having played all three quest lines, I find Queen Ayrenn the most level-headed of the three. To see her cry over her brother's loss... nice touch. The other two... I'll just keep my opinions about them to myself.

I also enjoy the landscape. From the giant trees to the serene plains. Khennarthi's Roost and Reaper's March are two of my favorite areas in the entire game, and they belong to the AD.

Finally, Razum Dar. The best NPC in the game and a favorite by many, regardless what faction they're aligned to.

I enjoy it when the Queen or Razum Dar are fighting with me. Makes me feel connected to them, which I don't get with the other factions.

But...but...Darien.... While I love Razum-Dar, I had the most fun every time Darien got involved in the quests to the point that I looked forward to his appearance, and was sad when they decided to give him his sort of death. (yes I know about the message in Orsinium)

The pact only really has battle-buddy, Holgen and Naryu, but he disappears after Stonefalls until Riften so its just not the same and she isn't really as fun as Raz and Darien.

While I agree Ayrenn has some points for trying to unite with the Bosmer and Khajiit rather than conquer them, I don't trust that she can do it. Just look at the Auridon and to a lesser extent Greenshade quest lines, far too many members of her court clearly aren't looking to be friends with the "lesser races." So even if she did win the war her victory would only last as long as she was in power, after which her empire would crumble from its own rot and an inevitable civil war.

The Pact built on one battle can't really last, too much bad blood between Dumner and the Argonians. The Nords and either one of the other 2 might work but not all 3. Eventually a Dumner bureaucrat will get tired of punishing his peers for "incidental" acts against Argonians and the Argonains will have had enough. And it will be a race to see who the Nords ignore the whining of first.

Meanwhile the covenant is similar to the pact but that only the Reguards and Bretons really work, eventually some future orc king is going to make one demand or request too many and some king who forgot why the covenant was made in first place, Breton or Redguard, will just sack them again. And the orcs know this so they are just waiting for it to happen, which is why there is the no Breton or Redguard armies in Wrothgar rule.

I mostly support DC because of Darien and the kind of classic fantasy setting, but even were Tiber Septim not coming, I wouldn't think any of these alliances would last beyond maybe one or two generations. AD comes in a close second.

I prefer AD storylines and areas by a small margin. but I will freely admit that playing through shadowfen made me absolutely despise high elves. queen Ayrenn being one of the few individual exceptions, but as a whole.. ugg.

my absolute least favorite area in the game is Stonefalls :/ the story of the area is fine, but I absolutely despise the terrain. so... damn.. annoying to navigate.

P.S. i don't really pvp, need to go into Cyrodill to finish pve objectives for reasons, but cannot figure out the best time to do so. any advice by the by? what is the bet time of the day for AD character (or any character really) to go into Azura where i have the smallest chance of running into other players? especially players from other factions?
