    Haha. Good to know and thanks for clearing that up.

    Well given that it is deep in the AD territory and close to Elsweyr, Blackwood wouldn't make much sense lore-wise. Unless that would be a shoutout to the earliest TES games, where Cyrodiil was a lush jungle, in which case "blackwood" still wouldn't make much sense.
    The whole Blackwood Schwarzwald sort of imagery would be more appropriate for DC territory.

    I hope you QQed at the editors of the interview just as hard as we plebs do on Forums :3

    funny, ive had more endless fights without CP than I have with CP.

    Chalman this evening came to mind. we were defending that place for roughly 45 minutes.

    Blues tried to break the main gate constantly and failed they get repelled we push, they repel us, rinse and repeat and then there was the breach the blues made, we slaughter them they slaughter us and so forth....

    45 minutes for a 21k tick lol That fight was epic but tiresome, it was better with CP.

    I feel like alls this did was annoy players and beat MDK's into a bloody pulp, I feel genuinely bad for them.

    I know I am just having a whinge but...

    It bugs me when all the news about a feature is going to news sites and not the blog of the MMO. ZOS/Bethesda seem to run this more like a media push for a new game release than an MMO. :disappointed:

    Either way it was an interesting read.

    This is how i feel as well. Overall I have seen much better performance during this week.     The cyrodiil reform attempts sound a bit helpless. There is already enough PvE content in Cyrodiil.

    What AvA needs is:
    a) Missions that that happen somewhere in the wilderness and attract small groups of different factions who have the same mission
    (like "set up a camp at location x,y and defend it for 10 minutes)

    b) the integration of the Imperial City into the Alliance War.

    That last bit stands out to me. "Nice, quick 15 minute fights" in battlegrounds? Are they timed? How do you score teams if not everyone dies? Is this an average match duration from internal testing? Are battlegrounds being designed with CP restrictions?

    All poignant questions that I'm interested in asking.

    There's usually a time limit on a battle ground, capture the flag and point capture game types are scored based on points from objectives during the match. I'm not sure how it will work in a team death match type though, maybe its just a draw if nobody dies.

    I'm glad there is a time limit. Because otherwise, people would go in there with tanks using guard and nobody would ever die. With a timer, and hopefuly a system based on the amount of damage done in case it reaches the time limit, it will force people to spec with damage.

    why dmg done and not dmg taken?

    why should a System favore dmg over tanking over healing?

    One statement really stood out to me:

    Brian: - Rich and I were out there almost every night. He's playing more on Azura Star and I'm playing more on Trueflame. So we can literally compare and contrast the two types of gameplay. The thing about Azura Star is no CP, so the skill set is a little bit different. You have to be much more wary of your resource pools. But in Trueflame, because it allows CP, you can just dump a bunch of points in Magician, so I mean that's the thing that not only we look at performance wise, but that's the thing Eric and his team look at, is that the game that we want? Do we want to have "unlimited" pools? It is nice, but what it does is it lends itself to fights that never stop, and a lot of people have commented that that gets tiresome, which is why in Battlegrounds, you've got nice, quick, 15 minute fights, so it's not that big of a worry.

    This statement really gives me a lot of hope. The fact Rich and Brian are comparing notes between Azura and Trueflame, and the fact Rich, Eric, and Brian are all asking themselves if they really want a game of unlimited pools is promising. This is a good start IMO. They are at least beginning to maybe recognize there is a problem here. Will just have to wait and see what the future holds.

    I would really love it if they disabled the cp system for PVP entirely and just tweaked stats as a flat multiplier to balance the game-play for the absence of the CP system. I haven't played much for the past 6 months, and am still capped at 630 cp or so. CP combat is what bored me out of this game, and I came back to check out the bonus week and have enjoyed the game more than I had both in terms of the combat play and the time/reward for playing. I know if i do play more beyond this week I will home up on Azuras for sure.

    will wait and see what happens, I am not interested in the small scale pvp, and I hope it weeds out Cyrodiil and leaves it for those of us that enjoy the large scale or it will kill cyrodiil and in that case I will just pve until something else comes along.

    But I am at least glad to see them doing something or trying any way.

    That's not what the endless fight complaints are about. With CP players have higher regen, cost reduction and resource pools, leading to potentionally endless fights in which no one dies. Though I also like large battles more with a greater need to preserve resources, in those types of encounters people usually die pretty fast either way.

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler unlimited pools indeed make battles last longer, but what makes some largescale fights endless is the ressing. Soul gems ressing needs a cooldown or a change, both for gameplays sake and because it would greatly reduce server stress. Please, take it into account, look carefully some organised raid videos you will see its usually the same people dying and soulgem ressing over and over while more and more come and this situation stresses the server more than cp I feel.

    I'm afraid this will have to wait until later patches after Morrowind. As is, 90% of the population will probably consist of the kind of randoms that struggle doing their pve dailies. The kind of people whose shortcomings you'd like to expose will instead group as 4, farm those randoms all day and grind more medals simply by investing a lot of time. I'd really love matchmaking and the possibility of losing points on a loss. I guess it'll come later, when they implement serious rankings. But initially, those exact baddies will farm arenas till no end
