Radiant Aura - remove aggro or reduce radius

At first glance I thought how good it would be to use this skill instead of Ele Drain, until the time in Wayrest Sewers fighting a boss only to be pulling aggro on mobs from other rooms.

A 28m radius (yes radius, you read that correctly) for this skill is just too large if it is also going to aggro every mob, skeever and mudcrab for miles around.

Please ZOS remove the aggro from this skill or at the very least reduce the radius to perhaps half this.

Until then, sadly it's back to Ele Drain and remorph to Repentance.

Maybe remove aggro but range is good.

I actually enjoy it a lot - been using it to stack up large groups of mobs right where my unstable wall of elements + reflective light + blazing spears + puncturing sweeps + solar disturbance need them to be <3

I use repentance on my Templar tank, but this makes me want to remorph it.

The 28 meters is good. It does NOT need to be reduced at all. Reducing the radius is just plain dumb and would only make healing harder especially for groups that need HoT. I don't mean to be rude but a healers job can be tough enough. We don't need more struggles keeping people alive. However, reducing aggro is fine.

I made a post about using radiant aura a little bit ago. The range is nice, but you as the caster need to be cognizant of your surroundings or just simply use ele drain when your not sure. I like ele Drain a lot more actually because you get the armour break and the minor magic steal, instead of having to apply the armour break separately which takes up another skill slot unnecessarily.

No, its used as a DOT and that radius is imperative for it to be viable.

Perhaps you need to use another skill instead like the spear

    @jbjondeaueb17_ESO

Its not a bug tho, its a L2P issue for many or poor choice due to people being creatures of habit.

Not to be rude or aggressive towards anyone but when ZOS makes a lot of changes to a class like this, you want first want to un-morph everything and unlock one at a time in different scenarios

For me as a magic Templar DPS, this replaces ele drain and for my other Templar healer....guess what, its no longer on my 2nd bar unless requested because its a DOT as well. I already have up the healing DOT, so throwing these doesn't make much sense if there is an aggro concern. Another concept is that tanks or stam based players have options and set to better manage their stam regen so the Templar shouldn't be the common request always.

While there are much better alternatives, IMO each person would need to test and make decisions that align with your overall intent after the changes.

Thanks, but I know how to play my class (I think finishing vMoL HM several times each raid evening with my guild is enough as proof) and I also unmorphed it before trying it again.

I wasn't using it before they changed it (repentance for stam was more useful) but I wanted to use it to avoid having to "spam" ele drain, to make my healer's life easier, but I can't. So i'm forced to not morph it or chose the other morph. Give me a list of other skills you want to use unmorphed ans i'll agree with you.

There is still no reason it's aggroing mobs when ele drain is not : same debuff magickasteal.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom the real problem with Radiant Aura's aggro is that it disregards line of sight and vertical distance. You could be 27 meters west and 27000 meters above something and it will come running after you.

Agree that removing the agro would be the best solution. I expect the agro aspect isn't intended some ele drain doesn't agro.

Reducing the range would reduce the effectiveness of the skill. In the mean time don't use it in open world or before the tank starts the pull with Rakkhat.

Just to play devil's advocate, remember in 1.6 when mageblades ran un-morphed teleport strike instead of lotus?

If I'm not mistaken the reason the aggro is present is because radiant aura places minor magicka steal on enemies, but according to the tooltip the only time you actually receive the recovery is when you are actively damaging said enemies. It seems like the aggro is integral. I would agree though that the radius is extreme in dungeons and the sewers.

One of the best changes they've made in the game, especially paired with a CC Tank. Temp pulls the entire room and rooms adjacent, tank stack's em, anyone with a destro staff finishes the job. For both farming and dungeons, it's marvelous.

    ????

Ele drain doesn't agro, and clearly intended to not agro based on Zos comments yes this Templar skill should agro even though it does only does one of the two debuffs ele drain provides?

I like that it draws agro and I have no idea why ele drain doesn't draw agro to begin with. I see no reason to change it. Maybe make it easier to redraw agro on another character, but still you should still be able to survive if you have heals and sweeps.

Nightblades' Mark Target is a debuff that does no damage and does not draw PvE aggro.

Weakness to Elements is a debuff that does no damage; it used to draw PvE aggro, but was changed in Update 13 so that it no longer draws aggro.

Radiant Aura is a debuff that does no damage. It draws PvE aggro. This is inconsistent with other non-damaging debuffs in the game.
