Lag Worse Than Ever PC/NA

This is a rant. My internet is fine, playing over a LAN cable not wifi. My normal latency is 300-350 because of where I play from, that's fine. 400? I've learned to deal. But this is insane. In the last two days I've been booted nearly 10 times. I cannot approach a siege with more than 10 players or my game will crash. If I enter a siege area on any kind of scale my game just spikes right to 999 latency, even with low population. This is preventing me from earning any real AP, participating in siege or defense. Basically all I can do is run around and try to fight 1v1, unless there's no one on the map. Seriously, fix it. Wtf am I paying for?

Thailand. But I've been playing pvp for a while and it's never been like this. Sometimes I may be prevented from winning a fight, but can always help out in the siege/defense. Tried taking off all addons. Nothing helps.

I've noticed a marked performance improvement since Homestead. Problem is likely in the half of the globe your connection passes across on its way to and from the server.

Perhaps but doesn't seem likely. Internet performance has not changed for anything else, including other streaming services from the US, games with servers based in the US. And I've been seeing other players voicing the same issues on zone chat in the same time frame.

I've noticed I'm getting 600+ ping in places like Mournhold and Craglorn. PvP has been no better or worse (always hit or miss) for me outside of load screens.

I was on trueflame thursday night 8-10:25PM EST. . . lag was like non existent. I have no idea what you guys complain about. The zergs were there. I mean it was ruthless. but the ping stayed around 114.

see you have to understand, i dont know what going on here, but i remember having 45ms ping in SWTOR on DSL. and when i moved to a place that i could actually have a hard copper connection, that ping went to 19ms.

but in ESO with a 200Mbps d 22Mbps u hard copper connection, the ping is ALWAYS around 80-118ms. and even then, (we all know copper connection isnt 100% consistent, thats why we want fiber) the ping would jump to 600ms intermittently.

why?

i know im not the only one. I live two states away from ZOS headquarters. where are their data centers and servers?

So i guess what im trying to say is, even at 100ms my game doesnt lag and performs normally. its curious that the ping is so much higher than other games ive played but i dont notice an impediment to my overall game performance, even the 600ms spikes subside quickly. so is it ISP? client side hardware?

I was also told by a now ZOS dev that ZOS works very hard to manage their pvp servers - to the point where employees are sleeping on cots in the server rooms.

I play on Trueflame (PC/NA) and have experienced very little lag since the Homestead update.

To be fair, after the most recent update it's gotten better. Idk if this particular fix had anything to do with it or what, but I'm back to normal if not a bit better.

Overall FPS and Lag has gotten much better for me since Homestead. The only change is crashing much more frequently but I feel like ZOS is aware of that issue.

Sounds like you shouldn't even be playing on NA servers from your worldly position. Your ping doesn't sound any different then those who connect from Australia and complain of poor connection from halfway across the globe lol

I've actually noticed the opposite. Cyrodiil performance has taken a huge decline for me.

tried to pvp in TF for the first time in a while yesterday, after the long queue, i got an infinite loading screen on my first port, queued again, manage to play 5 min, then got killed, tried to port to keep, game crashed, played another game instead

it happens,
especially in some 70 vs 70 bloodbath keep sieging, just keep mashing the buttons will do , i just mash mash mash , as lonng as i am participating in these activities
