I use the breton hero costume and I recolor it once every 3 months! I have gotten a lot of compliments for it. jbknqKV.jpg and the bow is thieves guild style I think?

I still use the original 10 racial motifs
All of my characters wear something different. Each time I'm making new equipment for them I look through the different styles I have available and pick the one I think looks best. Which is easier said than done since there's no way to preview them in-game and most the galleries online seem to focus on the more exotic styles so they don't always have pictures of the racial styles, especially not for all tiers.

I do regret not buying that outfit. The letdown of the Cape plus the price tag turned me off, at the time.

Armor? COSTUMES are where it's at!
The only armor styles I really like are the khajiit style and some style that kind of looks like the Arena armors from Oblivion. I saw someone wearing it but didn't get a chance to ask what it was.
None of the sets that my chars wear wear khajiit style sets, so I give them costumes which I like better as a whole anyway. I love the blue IC day dress and long white dress, and I also use the red IC temple tunic and the new redguard gala dress

You don't have a choice if you want to wear the best gear since it is farmed.

So I wear the ordinator costume (dyed white and gold) over my mish-mash of hideous farmed styles.

Bits of this, bits of that, mainly from Khajiit, Argonian and Bosmer. As much as I enjoy crafting, i'm not a huge fan of the appearance of many motifs. The less it looks like armour, the better.

    I'm not fussed either way.
Due to having to wear a costume most of the time to cover up my hideous dropped armour sets, the style of any crafted pieces is unimportant, as they will never be seen anyway...

Armor? COSTUMES are where it's at!
If ZOS let us RESTYLE OUR GEAR this could change.

Right now I wear 4 costumes on my main and 1-2 costumes on my alts that I don't use. The only exceptions (in which I do not wear costumes) are:

    • One particular PvP setup on my main character, where the armor looks great and is in a very unique motif (Mazzatun-style)
    • One particular PvE setup on one of my alts, where my crafted TBS armor looks cool (Akaviri-style)

    • My lvl 5 Khajiit pack mule who wears standard "clothes"
    • My lvl 5 Argonian pack mule who wears a different set of standard "clothes"

    That's it.

I still use the original 10 racial motifs
I use the original 10 playable race motifs, and dress and play the classes almost exactly as they appear in the character creation screen's champion armour preview mode (except that my stamplars do not use battle axes and my stamknights do not main 1h/s), right up to using the closest possible dyes, which have been a challenge to try and match. When I first saw those fourty outfits, it was love at first sight, and so I decided it would be appropriate to render homage unto what I believe to be great models, with great colours. :)

The outfits suit the characters who wear them, anything else just wouldn't work.

BSW and Rattlecage (PVE/PVP) are both Daedric, so yeah, thats what I wear most of the time. Ebony looks really awesome to me, but unless they come up with a way to change armor styles, I wont be using it. I also wear costumes on most of my alts/mules. My stam sorc and Stam DK both wear 5 pieces of Dro-m'Athra (NM/TBS).

Meh, it's good enough for most content (5 Julianos, 4 Magnus, 3 Willpower).
Also makes it easier to switch between healer and DD.

I use both the original 10 and the exotic/new ones.

I often use Khajiiti stuff here and there, mixed with various styles.

It mostly depends on how I want that character to look like from the beginning (I don't create new characters if I don't already have in mind how they will end up looking), but that's the rule, generally.

personally i really like the orc and imperial styles...i do use some costumes - but, mostly i like to use a bunch of the disguises you come across doing different quests...you can't color them, but, they do hide you vampirism nicely...

Armor? COSTUMES are where it's at!
Until I can change the monster set styles, I cover them up with a costume.
But, the chars that don't use them, I mostly wear mercenary for the crafted and whatever dropped for the rest. I usually craft all the major armor pieces for the look and then fill in the rest with needed traits.

I should have selected "mix," because every character is different.

Celestial Chest, Redguard Shoulders, Breton gloves, all light, on my Magica Sorc

All Dunmer light on my wannabe Ordinator Dunmer Templar.

Dwemer Heavy for my tanky DK.

Planning on a Medium Glass set for a Stam NB, but haven't put it together yet.

    Others are still WIPs.
