Why do some people suddenly leave a group at the beginning of the dungeon after queueing up?

You get into vet prison and notice everyone has a two hander equipped healer included, it's easier and less stressful to just leave sometimes...

That might have been me quitting the group lol
Because the dungeon scaling is not sufficient to make up for lack of power on low level characters this is what I do -

All basic dungeons - always do them, never quit. These dungeons can be completed by any level.

Version "II" dungeons - depends, ill check the levels of the group. If there is a level 10 tank and level 12 healer, instant quit, leave group. Some version II are actually not too bad, but some are horrible like fungal grotto II or COA II.

DLC dungeons - depends, the IC ones sometimes aren't too bad with a good group but I wont do Imperial Prison with level 10-20's. If its ruins of mazzatun or cradle of shadows, instant quit, wont even bother even with CP rank characters. The mechanics in these dungeons require good groups. Not worth wasting a half hour of my time finding out if I have a good random group or not. Ive had too many bad experiences. These dungeons should be removed from the random group finder.

If I'm farming for gear and find 3/4 people are under cp 160, I leave too as I might as well solo it instead. When farming items I get other players to have higher chances of drops.

If its a vet dlc dungeon and I find the group dps is under 20k on the first wave of adds, I leave.

EDIT: I also leave other vet dungeons if group dps is too low. I tried tanking vSpindle Clutch II just now and we failed the dps test at bloodspawn. He enraged insta killing teamates. I survived about 20 seconds but couldn't hold out. I just left group after that.

They queue up for the dungeon in the group finder, press the ready button and then leave the group when they finally get into the dungeon leaving everyone stranded, what is the rationale?

If I queue into some of the more demanding content like vWGT or vICP and see group members <160cp , I'm out.
If I queue into some of the more demanding content and see a non-templar who has decided to play doctor, I'm out.

If someone says it's their first time doing something like vICP/vWGT/vRoM/vCoA II, I'm also out because people need to not attempt vet for their first time in some of those. Start in normal.

People like to cry "Elitist!" when stuff like this gets said. No, I'm sorry. It's not elitist garbage, it's not wanting to spend 3 hours in a dungeon because one or more of the players involved aren't performing well enough.

I would imagine sometimes people queue for random and just don't want to do whatever dungeon they're given though. So there's that.

There are some Vet dungeons I know I'm not fast enough to handle some of the mechanics and will die every time. No point in trying to tackle them when my own response time won't help you.

Seems like some people have no patience for what they consider a poorly designed group. Its sad . Play the game for fun and comradeship. If your group fails . Come back and try it again some other time. The fun in the game is the people you meet along the way. Not the virtual loot.

Its not about a poorly designed group. The problem is that the dungeon scaling is not sufficient for the harder dungeons and some of the boss fights are impossible for low levels to complete. I agree the point is for everyone to have fun. But spending hours to trying complete a dungeon, dying constantly and then eventually failing is not fun.

I believe the OP is meaning the times when the group is disbanded immediately after forming. That means no time to port and see what the other players look like, or even go into the group list to see levels. I've had groups disbanded the VERY SECOND it's formed.

It could be, but I think it has to do with the recent change to the group finder.

Before patch, you entered the queue and then the group formed. then you were prompted to teleport to the dungeon and it told you which dungeon. Before you agreed to be teleported you could check the group out and decide if you wanted to teleport or not. You could quit before teleporting.

After patch - Surprise dungeons! you queue, after many attempts group forms and you are instantly teleported to a surprise dungeon. You are not told which dungeon you are being teleported to until you see the loading screen and you don't know what your group is like till you arrive.

So I think with the recent change, we will see more people quitting groups as soon as they enter the surprise dungeon. As soon as I get teleported to cradle of shadows, I'm outta there!

DLC dungeons and COA2 take too long and if the team doesn't mesh it's a waste of time.

I don't want to repeat too much but it is generally about perceived speed and quality of the group.

For example, I was running CoA last night with some guildies but also LFGers when we had a slot. Any one of us could solo farm 1, but it's easy mode with 3-4 decent players.

When we went to Vet, we dinged 1-2 people who were not suitable, just as they should review our credentials as Vet is more complicated. Trials are even more so.

The two Shadow of the Hist dungeons just are more trouble than they are worth to me, so I will drop out. Everything else I will roll through, even in when you get a cp 110 tank and 70 dps most of them can be run.

I'm one of those people on my DPS if levelling a skill or something. Only do it on normal and DPS is high so never any problems or kicks.

    They observe the DPS,
If DPS is bad, you leave.

    In Veteran dungeons....

95% of the dungeon... Is DPS.
You lost to the boss??? 95% of time, your DPS is bad.

Veterans know this, and thats why they leave. Another reason why they might leave without even going to the dungeon is because they see 1 or more people not at CP 160 or higher and assume/know, its never going to work and hence leave.

95% of time, if you dont kill the trash fast enough, as in you run over them in 3 seconds. Its Bye Bye time.

There is a DPS gap no one wants to admit.
You have people who barely sustain 10k dps... Then you have people who sustain easily over 20k dps...
Thats twice faster, and 2 people 10k dps vs 2 people 20k plus dps... thats 4 times faster.

Your usual 20 seconds to kill the trash vs the 5 seconds to run over them... Very noticeable. Good indicator to leave or stay.
Zenimax Online Balance team needs to educate those who do poor DPS of whatever they are doing wrong so they can perform at least 5k more, which is a huge difference.
You either know how to DPS, or you trying super hard but doing it all wrong hence DPS is terrible.

One of major reasons in my mind why people would quit a MMORPG, because they feel useless. Thats why you have to educate them, so they are playing as effectively as possible. There was a thread, "as I get higher level, more useless I feel"... Its too true in this game. Especially if you don't read up and figure out the secret tricks.
People feeling useless... That's why people quit MMORPG's

Every single dungeon I pug now there is someone light attacking with a bow. I understand low levels not quite sure about it but if you're champion level and still light attacking a dungeon you're either trolling or looking for a carry. That's why I spec my tank as a pvp meta, Tank + DPS.

Oh and stop blaming the healer because you're too dumb to roll out of the red, durka dur.

Honestly, some of the people I have ran dungeons with make me question humanity. All hope is lost.

let me share a story ,

so few nights ago i went in with my temp full healer ( done trials and vet trials ) over 2.8k regen so never had problems with sustain

so there were were vet dungeon nothing special fungol grotto me cp 561 another guy cp 561 thank 456 and dps 288 .. we went in me thinking this would be quick .maybe i should keep my eye on the cp 288..so we go in dps 561 dies right away ... no chance in healing.. ok then .. me thinking i should have closer eye on him then instead ... he resses goes against the adds life keeps on going down , me heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal im out of magica ..wait what ? he is dead...

wow i ran out of magica in healing that many times and he is dead? ok he goes up we proceed same thing he dies.. then starts on chat " HEALER HEAL ME USE BREATH OF LIFE WTF ARE U DOING" ... im like dude im trying... your getting one shoot what are you doing? anyway he keeps on blaming me... so i look more closer ..16k health wow... so i reply back .. hey buddy u need some food ur health is only 16k.. he replies NO I DONT NEED ANY FOOD !! " .. ok .... so we keep on going and i have to admit the guy has died maybe 40 times and i am not kidding close to 40 times while nobody else died ... even the low 288cp asked "why are you dying so many times "? and then tank asked if he was wearing HA armour to which the 561cp 16k health posted on the chat he is wearing gold pieces of moondancer and something else i can't remember...

Anyway lets just say it didn't go all that well but we managed to finish it ... im just surprised that somebody with moondancer all items golded out had only 16k health didn't want any food and keeps on getting killed so many times ive never seen anybody die like that... anyway yhea Cp means nothing
