Just curious.. now that people are aware of the empower bug, and are doing things like this:

    CxkRcrC.png

How would you suggest that be dealt with? What should the penalty be for:

    1. Someone who went to BB mine and hung around for a bit having fun watching and chatting with friends
    2. Someone who spent two hours mostly AFK and made a 500k AP
    3. Someone who spent a solid day and made a few million AP
    4. Someone who abused the empower bug to wipe massive groups using an aoe ult whose first tick did 50k+ damage
    5. Someone who abused the empower bug to 1-shot someone (as in the image above) with the first tick of radiant

There are different severity of actions, some of which affect other people significantly, and some of which do not.

This is why I've been pushing for a framework / a code of ethics and standards for action -> reaction rather than leave it all subjective with many a hypocrite calling for penalties to be imposed on people who did a heck of a lot less impactful activities than they themselves did historically.

There are 3 types of categories here:

Exploits/Cheats that directly affect other players: Cheat Engine, Empower Bug, Camo Hunter stacking
Exploits/Cheat that indirectly affect other players: Keep jumping via gap closer, infinite survey bug, this bug
Exploits/Cheats that do not affect anyone but the user: VMOL exploiting

The first one is completely inexcusable in PVP and should result in a ban. The second one, whilst serious, isn't game breaking enough to result in a ban unless it was obscenely abused and widely skewed the margin towards the exploiters favor wherein they otherwise would not have had a significant advantage. The 3rd one, while detrimental, should result in no more than a suspension as no other players suffered at the exploit/cheat's expensive.

Cheating is cheating. This is also an mmo. So cheats affect everyone no matter how indirectly. But even that shouldn't matter. Cheating is still cheating.

So is trading at Bleakers actually deemed cheating and facing any account sanctions or should I just join in with the people doing it and get my SP/Achievements faster?

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler

Trading outposts is legitimate. A clever way of using the game mechanics, same as being fed AP etc.

BB mine, even though people were legitimately roleplaying there, was considered an exploit.

It's not legitimate. No matter how much you say so. It's not.

Show me where Zos say it isn't and i'll admit I'm wrong.

If roleplayers want to flip a keep to re-enact a war, I'm sure Zos has no problem with that tbh.

And here is why this every exploit and cheap tactic ever in this game has been abused.

Where is the exploit/cheap tactic in roleplaying at a outpost? A good friend of mine, ex GO, Legendary Shey, roleplayed wars at Roebeck farm back in the day. If he can roleplay, so can I. Why are people crying about roleplaying at an outpost instead of a resource? Lol.
Well I am a long time game master so maybe I should join the RP sessions.

You are more than welcome to join us. We are still going strong.

I tried to RP but apparently all the RP players are on the DC side.

Fair play and honesty has never needed explicit rules. Most people get this. But I agree that ZOS needs a referee to kick some of you out of the game.

It seems at least one EP roleplayer had to go to bed, but don't worry they have a macro going so they can continue to RP by using skills every so often.

The RP got interesting when a AD soldier showed up and both the EP and DC seemed to have trouble killing them. I'm guessing they were some kind of BBEG?

Well I got some sleep for a while but the RP continues.

I have to say I am impressed if my Pathfinder groups were this dedicated we might clear more of my campaign each week.

There was a moment where allied EP roleplayers seem to be offended by my attempts to join the roleplay and had a DC roleplayer come and try to PvP me. However as we know that's against the RP rules so I darkcloaked away and hid somewhere else to continue my RP.

    *Edit

I have to say I just accidently broke the rules myself. I found a fellow DC roleplayer hidden in the rocked and proceeded to roleplay a fight with them, but sadly they were AFK and just using a roleplay macro so I may have killed them illegally. I'll submit a ticket to the Gamemaster and ask that my XP be docked for that kill.

a few sites earlyer zos said they have the list of all Players and will think what to do with them, im not sure if ist ture but Player got removed the ap, so does it Sound as it would be allowed?

i as zos would make a AD, give him gm gear that push all rss to 500k and farm bleakers out. would be the most fun, give hi a legitim Name and see how you all rush the Forum with pics of a "cheater"

and then wroble witll answare he where just rollplaying god

Should you come back to our RP session might I suggest the rocks on the North side of Bleakers. There are many fine roleplayers alone up there for one on one RP.

However I fell that the AD will have the best RP opportunities as they won't be limited on partners by faction.

There are players everywhere around Bleakers roleplaying rogues using their stealth skill. They don't seem to like it when one fails their perception check and I kill them.

Just now this one group sat in a tree up on the North hills seemed very update that I used a destruction ultimate on them and killed one of them. I'm used to players using constructive thinking to get out challenging combat scenarios, not sure if I am the right GM for this group.

    *Edit

There is one brave EP Roleplayer who has discovered that the best way to RP with as little work as possible is to hold the attack button down, wouldn't want to be logged out for idle RP after all!

Apparently the Dominion have turned up with their 5E RP rules and are RP'ing all over the EP/DC now.

    *Edit

Apparently there were more 3.5E EP roleplayers then 5E AD and they pushed back to make 3.5E the popular RP again.

I've also just been killed by 5E players, the long walk back to continue this live report must begin.

If you haven't noticed, AD destroy the campaign in the day and then let EP/DC roleplay at Bleakers at night. Theo ther night AD capped the whole map, scrolls included, but allowed EP and DC to roleplay a war at Bleakers.

    "Roleplay'... :/

The only reward one should get for "Roleplaying flipping flags in cyrodiil" is the enjoyment of roleplaying itself. All of you "Flag flipping, AP farming Roleplayers" probably would not mind one bit if ZOS made it so in order to "Roleplay" in cyrodiil you would need to flag yourself as a "Roleplayers" thus turning off any and all AP gains... I mean really you guys and gals are there for the "Roleplay" experience... correct?

    So I have a suggestion for @ZOS_BrianWheeler , @ZOS_RichLambert , @ZOS_GinaBruno and any other @Zos employee,

In order to combat the possible abuse of "Roleplaying" while in Cyrodiil... "Roleplayers" must now flag themselves as "Roleplayers" thus nullifying any and all AP gains made through said "Roleplaying". Any players caught "Roleplaying" for AP and not flagging themselves will have their AP removed and possible other sanctions levied against them.

    Thank you,

    Good day and Good night!!

That's by far the most dumb post I've ever read on this forums yet

Well there is some rage in zone chat now because the big bad AD ruined their farming.

    *Edit

Plans in zonechat are to continue tonight. If any AD want a late night looks like there'll be some PvP action on EU Haderus all night.

If you haven't noticed, AD destroy the campaign in the day and then let EP/DC roleplay at Bleakers at night. Theo ther night AD capped the whole map, scrolls included, but allowed EP and DC to roleplay a war at Bleakers.

No more stupid than the people in this thread going 'wink wink, we are roleplaying" to the tune of hundreds of thousands of AP per hour. They only say they are "Roleplaying" because they think it is some sort of loophole so that ZOS won't do anything to them. When in truth the only thing they are doing is outright exploiting (flipping a bugged resource over and over for awesome and easy AP) or abusing a poorly thought out and implemented design by ZOS (Outpost / Keep swapping for awesome and easy AP).

Perhaps I am mistaken though and there is some Oscar worthy "Roleplaying" going on in Cyrodiil?

ZOS should just start advertising their game as a safe haven for exploiters, cheaters and botters. ZOS has their heads so far up their own ***** they in their offices or at home on their couches reading this like "look how happy these guys are role playing, let's double the ticks so more people will join in".

Oh boy.. Probably 20 pages of posts is not clear enough for you that zos will not do anything to this people who are flipping flags 24/7 for a week straight after bb fix.

This. They won't do a thing other than patch it to fix the issue and move along as always.

How many issues have we seen like this where people abuse a system in a way it's not intended and rather than make a stand ZOS just patch it, suck up the rage thread, then once people run out of steam ranting, it gets ignored and people move on.

I've contacted Rich & Brian on Twitter, sent Brian a PM on the forums and submitted a support ticket all asking if there are account sanctions for use of this. If I don't hear anything back then to hell with any kind of moral high road I will use this until patched and not be left behind in this game yet again for being the good guy.

You're not funny either with your "EVERY STREAMER IS A CHEATER" comments. As hard is it is for you to take, there are legitimate GOOD players playing this game. I know you're jealous, but you really need to get over it.
