We know how much in game houses cost. But do you know how much decorations cost?

So we know mansions cost 3mil or more.

But after you pay 3 mil... Your left with nothing but a building and an empty interior.

You ready for 1 million gold on beds?
You ready for 5 million gold on paintings?
You ready for couple hundred thousand gold on fancy doors?
You ready for couple hundred thousand gold on fancy windows?
You ready for 5 million gold on that cool stable?
You ready for 5 million gold for a cool throne room?

Oh you planning on buying all the houses possible?
Better start saving for 100 million gold at least.

My word of advice, buy a cheap place and make it bomb looking. Its better than buying an empty mansion.

If you dont own a trade guild or multiple trade guilds, aka you make millions a day like it aint nothing. Do not expect to own every single thing.

Just because you are badass, doesnt mean you rich. You gotta start businesses, aka trade guilds. Being in multiple trade guilds is good, but if you want to be filthy rich, you better OWN trade guilds with 400+ people.

Just cuz you fully decked out in epic gear... Dont mean jack. How many trade guilds you own??? Ahh, none, you aint rich then, you may think u rich but you aint top 1%.

That's how you come close to 1 billion gold in this game.

Just letting yall know the bigger picture. Buying a house isnt it. Buying the houses and making them look bomb, thats what rich people do.
Buying the mansion is cheap, throwaway change, filling it up that requires being rich.

How people like to decorate their houses isn't that their choice? Maybe i just like minimalism with one furniture piece in each room.

And where did you get the info that only Trading Guild owners can get rich?

He does make a valid point though. People should be prepared for the cost of furnishing. This place is going to be inundated with posts on patch day with people crying about how they got scammed into buying a large house since they didn't know the cost of decorating a house was so high.

A home that costs 1 million gold will cost at least another million gold to decorate. People need to be aware of these costs.

I'm pretty sure anyone with enough sense to gather 3.8 million gold+ probably has enough sense to know that we arent gonna get the furniture for free. That would be ludicrous :D

I don't see what the issue is, how much of the time you play this game are you going to be in your house? 5 min a session? 2 min a session. Never in a session? Who cares what it looks like, do the basic quest and move on to playing the game. Maybe make 1 of each of the starter plans so you can have a crate to sit on and cup to recycle your wine in. It's not like GTA where you have a bong, a bottle of wine, a bed, a shower to sing in, a telescope and a heist planning room. Just make a chair and you are done.

    Well that depends....

you can buy from the in game furniture vendors this lovely rough wooden pool which fits one uncomfortably for just 100G -
    S54P0Hu.jpg

Or you could get this crafted wooden pool, costs depending on if you get lucky and find the blueprints to craft it or have to purchase from players at exorbitant prices -
    AvBcOi3.jpg

Or for just 100$ real dollars worth of crowns you could get this exclusively sold in the crown shop!!!

My guesstimates are that mats to craft interesting furniture will cost somewhere around 4-10K gold per piece, or half hour to farm them.
There are though much simpler pieces, it will cost roughly 500g -1k.
Price to craft attunable craft station will most probably be over 200-300K gold.

So yeah, furniture will cost about same as house at least or be far more expensive if you go crazy.

I take it you haven't been on the PTS at all?

We know exactly what furniture will cost (assuming they don't change it) because it's all there to buy/craft, even the crown store stuff has real prices instead of everything costing 1 crown like they usually do.

A lot of people have complained that it's expensive, and they're not wrong, but 1 million gold for a bed and 5 million for a stable is a massive exaggeration.

Depends on what you're doing in the house. Have a look at Fallout 4 settlements if you want examples. Some people like to RP. Some like to decorate. Some like to use it as a home base for crafting and whatnot. And some just like to build giant death robots out of carpets and ceiling fixtures. ;)

I was eyeing a big estate for a while but then realized it was better for me to wait and see.

So my plan is to buy a medium and go from there - expecting maybe to spend as much on outfitting it or slower crafting demands etc.

But frankly, right now there isn't a ton of function there for me to want a huge investment anyway.

I spent a lot of time in fallout settlements because there were things to do there, they could make money and resources for you, you could grow a community, and there were raids which you could build defenses for. they were clean sources of food and water so if you played on the hardest difficulty you had good reasons to keep them operational if for no other reason than clean water.

I don't think those features are in this game, there is a chair you can sit in. You can invite your friends to come over and sit in your chair too.

You're right. Those features aren't included. Yet. ;)

Although the attunable crafting stations are nice. Especially if those friends of yours don't have access to DLC stations. Not to mention the target skeleton.

Imagine if it was open world housing
Imagine if you could steal stuff from others

I picture modern day zelda ocarina of time. Avoiding the guards to get to the room with the million dollar beds and decorations, inside a top 1% billionaire player mansion. Hearing that whistle all the time that you got caught and than cutscene of you getting kicked out of the mansion and you have to start all over again. Than that billionaire laughing his ass off on his balcony with his 1 or 2 other billionaire buddies.

"hey buddy, hows your 4 guild traders in rawhlka doing?" "business is good with my 3 traders in stormhaven and 2 traders in mournhold" "i upped the minimum everyone has to pay me by 2k today too, no time for losers in my trading guild" "hear about jimmy that owns all the guild traders in daggerfall?" "he made 140 million last week"

Those prices are quite exaggerated. Yes, furnishing a house will be an expensive, lengthy endeavor. And you will likely pay more to fully decorate a large house than you would pay for the house itself. But it's nothing like what you're suggesting.

(Also, I "own" a trade guild. And let me tell you... I would be a hell of a lot richer if I didn't! Yes, trade guild GMs are often wealthy, but that's despite being a GM, not because of it. LOL.)

So, OP does not have enough coin to buy every single house and that is why he will make his inn room as crazy as possible.

On the other hand, for some reason, OP shuns all PvE aspects of the game and feels like ESO is about owning trading guilds.

I fail to comprehend how come Zos didn't employ this person yet.

They will be extremely rare chest loot. You can also buy them from the crown store at 400 crowns per piece.
