It would be an improvement balance wise, but it still wouldn't be quite the same though. The playerbase as a whole has become more knowledgeable, more skilled, and more experienced in the art of zerging since then.

I miss 1.6 when magica det + dawnbreaker would be more efficient than eots now is.

TTK was very low that patch. I was killing groups using clouding swarm + steel torando, which wouldn't normally have the burst needed to kill groups. Plus I was perma rolling while doing it, mitigating very large amounts of damage.

1.6 was great, but anything before Thieves Guild would be better than what we have now (imo).

Anything is better than what we currently have. But I agree 1.6 was better than 1.7 by far. When DK still had a play is Cyrodiil

I preferred1.6-2.2, but I would take any other version of ESO 1.4 or above over what we have today.

That was more or less a figure of speech. My first character was an AD khatblade, whom I haven't played in ages. I could respec her any number of ways and be active on AD in hours if I had a proper reason to do so.

Early 1.6 was pretty good before CP got out of control. But then again Nirn and Sharpened were way overtuned. Meteor fall damage, blinding Dawnbreaker.

Late 1.6 was a mess because of CP imbalance.

It was so awful. Besides a few changes in 1.5-1.6, I don't see how anyone could have enjoyed it for long.

Game's been in a better state, but obviously should go back a few patches when some cheese didn't exist.

1.5 was the most balanced this game ever was and will be.

All 1.5 need was some tweaks to tone down Magicka DK a bit, and things would have been good.

The Champion System and removal of soft caps have simply imbalanced the game beyond fixing at this point short of removing it.

The more Champion Points you get, the less sacrifices you have to make yo your build

This is seen most prominently in unkillable Sword and Board Heal tank Templars, and one shot gank stamina Nightblades, but it exists in other set ups too, just not as glaring.

every time their increase CP cap they keep ramping up damage. it is what it is.

I don't think a reroll is good for this game any more, maybe a year ago it could have helped but right now it's in a much better place than it was during the 1.5 days. That's not to say some newer mechanics are not bad and I love it all, but over all much as improved.

There are bits I like and bits I don't like from the games evolution.

I think this game is in a much better place than it was in release as we finally have the separation of Magicka and Stamina and separate balance focus on them (let's not forget back older editions we were still campaigning for stamina class skills, and a game without mandatory robe and stick PvP).

Itemisation is in a much better place and since One Tamriel has a nice system where multiple activities within PvE grant different parts of sets making all of the old dead content worth running again.

The game is far from perfect and has a lot of work to be done, but to roll it back would not be beneficial for it, we would lose more progress than than we gain in benefits of some old mechanics.
