This thread is stupid, pointing out problems with reality in a fantasy game is stupid, expecting to create a thread to express your opinion without expecting replies on a discussion forum is stupid, getting agitated about said replies is stupid.
Please do not respond to me however, I just wanted to express my feelings without actual discussion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=AzNc_G2L8cM"The tank" is a character performing that role. Bosses tend to attack tanks to an extent way beyond reasonable considering their impact... regardless of whether the tank is a pet or a pc or any npc.
Exactly! You are saying it. And I'm saying that a little pet performing "The tank" role is very stupid. I don't see why is so hard to understand and picture the situation of a little pet tanking a hell demon or whatever leader boss.
Besides, tanks need specific gear, specific stats, specific skills to perform "The tank" job, however, a little scamp just comes and tanks the last boss of a dungeon, naked, just like that? So stupid!
Wel to be fair since about half my characters are deliberately on the smaller to smallest end of the size allowed and many others i see are just normal or less, the "imposing player image" isn't something i factor in as an automatic.
there is no impact on a small skinny argonian tank for not being huge and burly looking or otherwise intimidating. One shouldn't judge a book by its cover. uncle whatsits in the Shalidor basement looks tough but goes down easy while queen Estre or nox - not so much.
And as for "the little scamp" clearly he also has the right powers and abilities to do the job, or else it would die. in fact, that little scamp does its job very well when i solo dungeons and bosses... so appearances can be decieving.
But hey, if you want to judge your enemies by their looks, thats your choice. but i bet there may be a few small argonian ladies in simple servant clothes who might be surprising. They might even just be wearing a bath towel. obviously small argonian in bath towels cant be dangerous.
LOL.
thanks for the chuckles.
You definitely don't understand my point. I don't care if the scamp "has the right powers and abilities to do the job", it still looks stupid that a little pet tanks the leader of an army.
What's coming next? A pile of raw ancestor silk keeping the boss trapped so you can hit him?
I understand your position - that to you it looks stupid. You could just as well be saying a green t-shirt looks stupid to you or a willow tree looks stupid to you or an avocado looks stupid to you. As far as those go, its a matter of taste and preference. So, for that part, i understand fully.
But, not stopping at "its just my feeling" or "its just my preferences" or "i like this ice cream over that" kinda position, you go further. you try and setup a supporting argument as to why you are right, not just that you like it this way or that.
that is where I and others seem to be having issues with being able to find your supporting argument reasonable.
We dont have to find your "its what i like" kind of thing logical or reasonable - thats a totally subject thing and no right or wrong.
but for instance, when discussing "the tank" you go on about how the PCV tank has skills and gear and basically is setup to tank the boss... but now for the pet you say having the right ability and right skills doesn't matter.
That is an inconsistent position. Why bring up yourself if you are just going to dismiss it later?
Look at these two statements from you... both from this page iirc.
"besides, tanks need specific gear, specific stats, specific skills to perform "The tank" job, "
"I don't care if the scamp "has the right powers and abilities to do the job""
It makes no sense for you to support you position with tanks needs this and that and then just a little later dismiss as irrelevant whether the scamp has the right powers and abilities.
You can easily stop at "me no likely" opinion on the scamp-tank-issue and only thing folks can think is go "hey thats your thing" and not much there to really discuss.
But when you start supporting the position, start arguing why its right, start making arguments aboput why other things are different - then you start forming a line of reasoning that seems on the surface to be inconsistent.
At this point, whether its really just you being hung up on size or having a real anti-scamp discrimination vibe - it seems that you just don't like the flavor of scamp tanking and dont really have anything beyond that as a preference/opinion to establish this as anything objectively wrong in the context of the game.
So, again, thanks for the chuckles.
You're right, but just and only because someone derailed the thread. If you read my first post, it says nothing about gear, stats, skills, mechanics, and so, just that a small pet tanking a big, smart, etc., etc., etc., boss looks stupid.
If people can't comprehend right from the beginning that it was just an opinion about something looking stupid (regardless mechincs, gear, etc.) then it's people's fault due to lack of direct comprehension.
Here i go again, simple and clear:
A small scamp tanking a big boss, army leader, lord of hell and so, just looks stupid.
PS: If someone, again, takes that phrase to anything different then that's a different matter I never intended to discuss here.

I thought the first few replies to the thread were appropriately tongue-in-cheek joking around in good humor. As is often the case here, molehills somehow get transformed into contentious mountains after a dozen or so replies.
