Crafting Set Not Registering All 5 Items

EXACT LOCATION: First noticed it in Elden Root when I retrieved the items from the bank.

I am running into an issue with crafting armor and weapon sets. I made a new character, a Khajiit Nightblade from the Aldermi Dominion named Alina Zerua. Currently she is level 33, and in time I want to build her around stamina based attacks for maximum DPS.

Since this character doesn't know all the crafting styles just yet, I had my main character do the crafting. After I finished crafting 7 armor pieces and 3 weapons, I deposited all the items into my bank and retrieved them on Alina's account. At the moment I have armor and weapons crafted in both the Night's Silence set and the Hunding's Rage set. Between 7 armor pieces and 3 weapons, I should be able to craft 2 full crafting sets and meet the 5 item requirement for both sets. However, I am not.

For the Night's Silence set, 5 armor pieces were crafted to complete this set. The game has registered that I met the 5 item requirements for that set. Great, I get all 5 item bonuses. For the Hunding's Rage set, 2 armor pieces and 3 weapons were crafted to complete this set. However, the game is not registering all 5 pieces when I equip them.

I am using a bow as my main weapon, and dual-wielding daggers as my backup weapons. When I have my bow as my active weapon, the Hunding's Rage set only registers 3/5 items (2 armor pieces and 1 weapon). When I switch and have my daggers as my active weapon, the Hunding's Rage set only registers 4/5 items (2 armor pieces and 2 weapons).

Because my inactive weapon is not registering as part of the set, I cannot obtain all 5 item traits for the Hunding's Rage set. Which is a huge disappointment because that means I'm getting gypped of an extra 200+ weapon damage. I don't know when this was changed since I remember a time just recently when I obtained all 5 item bonuses for both sets, but it's completely unfair. I should not be penalized for the reason of "you can't obtain all 5 item bonuses simply because your main or backup weapon it not the current active weapon." Regardless if the weapon is active or inactive, the point is all 3 weapons are equipped to my character and thus should count towards the crafted set.

P.S. - Crafting Jewelry really should be a thing as well.

Not a bug. It's always been like this, and it's the intended design. Only the items on your active bar count.

You need to plan your builds around this.

For example, you could wear 3p Hunding armor, 4p Night's Silence armor, equip 2p Hunding daggers, and 1p Night's Silence bow.

That way, when you're on your daggers bar, you'll have the full 5p Hunding bonus (and you'll get the NS bonuses up to 4p), and when you swap to your bow bar, you'll have the full 5p NS bonus (and you'll get the Hunding bonuses up to 3p). This way, you will do maximum damage on your main damage-dealing bar, and you'll have the utility of stealth speed when you swap to your bow bar (which most people use as a utility bar and not damage bar).

This is also why there are so many threads asking for 2 slot weapons (bow/2h/staff) to count twice.
but the best you can do is 3 pieces with DW and 4 pieces with bow to get one an active 5 piece up at all times. when you get cp160 it gets better because of jewelry( not crafted ofc). there's some decent 3 piece bonuses for certain dropped gear that can help. most BiS calls for some 2 pc armor sets. it gets crazy. Deltia's gaming.com is a pretty good guide. there are others though.
    Rule #1: RL trumps gaming.
Rule #2: True immersion is RL.
Rule #3: RL lag is wonderful.
Rule #4: People matter. Pixels do not.

Except that it's not always been like this. I took a break from the game in August 2016 and was gone until September 2017. My 5 pieces of Seducer and 4 pieces of Magnus were registering. I made new armor, tried it on, and when I put my old armor back on, suddenly my pieces weren't registering. It hasn't always been like this.

Except it HAS always been like this since BETA.

Let's do the math, as they haven't added or removed any additional armor/weapon slots.

You have a total of 7 armor slots (head, chest, belt, boots, shoulders, gloves, legs) and a total of up to two weapon slots and 3 jewelry slots.

Jewelry is not, nor has it ever been craftable in the game.

There is not, nor has there ever been cloaks in this game.

This means you can have a 5 piece and up to a 4 piece in crafted, not counting jewelry. That means 8 to 9 items can be crafted, 8 if you use a 1h weapon 9 if you DW.

Now that we have the math sorted out, you need to choose which 5 piece bonus you want from a full crafted set and what crafted set you want the 4 piece from or, two 2 piece bonuses.

Good luck and don't forget to check your calculations next time.

    1) I didn't say anything about jewelry. Or cloaks. Where did that come from?

Here's what I mean: I was wearing 5 clothing pieces of Seducer, 2 clothing pieces of Magnus, and equipped with a Magnus Resto staff and a Magnus Destro staff. I was receiving set bonuses for both the 5 pieces of Seducer, and FOUR pieces of Magnus. When I crafted new armor, I only received set bonus for the 5 pieces of Seducer, and 3 of the Magnus; the two clothing pieces and one staff. Previously, it had been recognizing *both* staves. So either it hasn't always been this way, or the set bonuses I was getting before we're a glitch and now everything is working as originally intended.
This has nothing to do with my math and everything to do with how I was originally receiving set bonuses even for an inactive weapon. Do you see what I'm getting at?

2h has never offered 2x the bonus for sets as clearly stated above. It was discussed as a possibility for Morrowind, but it never came to pass.

Then it was glitched on my account, because I absolutely used to receive the bonus. I'm not making this up. I have nothing to gain by doing so.
