@PTS Patch Notes: Templars? Really?

Everyone expected the Radiant Oppression nerf. But did you really have to go and nerf Blazing Spear by removing the stun?

Templars were already lacking crowd control as is.

If you want Templars to do nothing but be healers you're doing a mighty fine job of ensuring that. A Dragon knight Healer is looking mighty tempting with the Dragons Blood changes. Why play a Templar healer with no cc when I can have infinite shields, aoe root, and Magicka as a DK healer?

Templar will officially be a class if you want to play as a healer, nothing else works.
Dps? Will lose to every other class.

They already did. Templars needed a few dps buffs in other areas and a few more crowd control tools to compensate for everything else which got changed.

Taking away 1 of our 2 reliable cc's is absolutely mind boggling.

True, it's already losing to every other class at dps now, that's why I gave up dps role long ago.. cos even with top gear it still lacks the dps bad..

Blazing spear didn't need a nerf but it needed to be fixed. It CC's me everytime when I'm not even in the area of effect (the red circle).

They have absolutely no clue how to fix anything. Hence the blatant nerfs.

It may have needed a targeting fix. But now Templars literally have no crowd control besides...

    Dawns Wrath based snares...
    And our single target Javelin.

Both of which are lackluster in both pvp and pve.

The changes to Backlash and Eclipse are welcomed. But removing one of our cc's entirely and hugely nerfing our finisher is insane. The changes to eclipse and backlash won't even come close to making up for it.

Even as a Templar healer, having that stun from blazing spear is literally a life saver. For yourself and allies. The stun was weak anyway but it was just enough to matter between. life and death. the damage from it wasn't even a threat. Now it doesn't even keep them still for 2 ticks of damage.

The nerf to Templars is beyond insane without other buffs to go with it. They already performed poorly on dps and tanking by comparison. Now what?

Single target. Easy to avoid. Damage is subpar. No Templar uses it in group pve and very few use it in Cyrodil.

Crowd Control is a very big deal in PVP and PVE a like. Blazing Spear was our only AOE stun.

I foresee Fire Rune from mage guild being used by a lot more templars.

Yeah, it hurts, but it's hardly a Magplar death sentence. Pokey sticks can still put out 30k DPS. Personally I think I'm just gonna dump my CP into heavy attacks and lighting staff everyone. Radiant will just go from OP AF (come on, we all know it) to just a really good finisher.

Get creative. Don't be those guys. Quitters never win. They took our biggest tool, so go find another.

At the end of the day Hurricane got a 33% nerf so I'll take the trade off in Cyrodiil. In dungeons ... meh ... whatever. It'll take 2 more button pushes. Calm down.

I never really considered the damage of Radiant Oppression to be OP. It was the range that made it strong and how easy it is to use (channel ability that doesn't break target). It was near impossible to escape from due to the range. The damage could easily be prevented or healed through.

If they nerfed the damage by 5% and the range by 10 meters that would be more viable than a huge damage nerf of over 20%

Wow... the blazing spear nerf... Didn't see that one coming. I mean, that ability, together with caltrops/ritual of retribution was my only real way of (kinda) being able to control trash mobs on my templar tank, while also building some AoE aggro. How could you remove a stun from an already CC deprived class?!

I guess my tank will be running aroud like a headless chicken now trying to taunt every mob in an attempt to keep everything together. What a joke!

Also, LOL!! they nerfed healing ritual. Hahaha that is just great! One of the most useless abilities in the game, nerfed! :D

Sword and Shield Ice staff Magplars will be God like in PVP with their ability to snare, root, and minor main everything.

All that equipped with a Ultimate that roots everything instantly does insane damage and swap on draining magic or stamina while blocking.

Templars are going to be obnoxious next patch in PVP.

They were already really strong in PVE and arguably got a little bit better.

Magplars are going to be ridiculous.

Templars are garbage dps. Healers great with support they supply but dps has always been meh at best. Radiant gave them one good edge along with the stun from Blazing. I finally got a few dark elves that could put out some decent damage but they changed the proc sets and now this. Kind of just going to be healers who can pitch in.

Eh, I'm just going to goof around in this game. My heart is just not in it. I have all mag toons except for the one stam sorc and the stam sorc is the only one that did not get the shaft in some way. I really do believe ZOS hates magic. I am convinced they think this is Dragon Age and we are all capable of great evil therefore must be controlled.

As someone who rarely play pvp, I don't understand why they have to nerf my main character. I almost rely on the stun from blazing spear.
And did people really complain about radiant doing too much damage against dungeon bosses?
They need to start separating pve from pvp at some point.

I guess punctuating sweeps will be the next to be nerfed because that is the most commonly used skill as we clearly have an advantage getting health back. The house that is always mentioned must be that room in the inn where we can invite people in and keep the rest out. I can rest easier knowing this fortress will be available.
