Do you think zos should raise the gear cp cap to 180?

    I'm not at CP 160 yet, but I can understand that there are players out there, who've spent alot of time and/or gold trying to get that perfect build for all or many of their characters, and are now able to enjoy the game, without having to worry over grinding too much.
    Upping the CP cap means that all those players would have to go through that grinding hell again, just to make sure they don't fall behind.

    I still have to go through that grinding hell, and 20 extra CP's higher doesn't bother me, but if I was in that position, I'd ragequit.

Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

    Well, ESO needs something to facilitate or offer any kind of progressing whatsoever - something this game direly lacks at the moment and has lacked for quite some time now.

    As things are now I kind of regret the whole removal of veteran ranks - because when we had them we at least had something to aim for with every DLC. Now it's just a grind so you can do more grind, so you can become strong enough to do more grind. Then you, statistically (majority of vMSA players), spend hundreds of hours in vMSA without even getting anything useful.

    Like.. I've been VR16/CP160 since V16 was released. And it feels like that was the last time I got to progress anything with my character. Now it's just doing pledges to get the monster shoulders that I've not yet seen any proof even can drop from pledge chests.

    Increase gear CP cap, introduce non-set items that aren't completely useless, give us PvP with a progression system and revamp trials or introduce proper raiding. Do something, please!

    gear level should be raised like once a year but instead of this crappy 10-20 cp difference it should be 100-200cp at least,
    it just helps to even the playing field with new guys a little at least, would greatly benefit game...
    old players already have huge advantage over others, all this threatening to quit is just riddiculous.

    also all useless gear sets should be strenghtened while doing this and new ones introduced.

    To see unique sets you don't need to raise gear CP cap to 180. There is literally no point other than to give players a headache to grind to 180 with all their alts.

    If they are going to raise the cap i hope its raised far beyond 180 like 320 or somthing. So it actually feels worth it.

    So since we're all saying no we don't want it, the gear cap WILL be raised because in ZOS language no = yes.

    And no, I don't want this at all. I would not mind IF our current existing CP 160 gear is automatically upgraded to CP 180, which I doubt will ever happen.
    Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

    The answer is no, no, NO!

    If I had to grind for the same gear I already have, that would be the final nail for me.

    They added so many new sets with 1T... it would be quite the undertaking to try and release that many new sets again...most would be garbage anyways.

    Just remembered that I saw a "level 180" gold Willpower ring linked in chat a few days ago. How was that possible? It said "level" and not "champion".

    Every item consists of a code which looks something like this:

    " |H0:item:69277:363:50:45884:370:50:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0|h|h "

    in this case we got a willpower ring in epic, cp160, arcane and with a spelldmg glyph. If you know how to, you can change that code, and just copy it into the chat. It wont show as this weird code, but instead as the item the code is describing.

    Never. There is so much horizontal progression sets in gear in ESO that switching sets is basically like a respec that costs 100s of 1000s of gold. Champion points are already enough (too much) vertical progression. They'll do fine to simply add fresh sets with new zones that are alternatives to the current sets.
    Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.

    Considering the progression isn't gear it's Champion Points they should NEVER raise the gear. Honestly at some point the whole idea of CP gear should disappear due to One Tamriel scaling. Gear should just scale up based on the CP overall.

    The base is set for this change.

    I do hope however that they increase the cp max allowed above 561 to a number around 1000+ in 2017

    Eventually the CP cap will get to 1000 but Zos will only increase it by 30 per quarter since their catch up system for newer players is flawed, though better than it was. By their numbers most players are not even half way to the current cap, which seems to be incorrect by my observation.

    The metrics they use seem to be flawed. My guess is they include players that just hit level 50 and do not leave out players that truly do not play much when determining a mean and median CP level among us.

    I am sure it will happen and some point, but if it happens anytime soon, I would leave the game. No way I am grinding everything again. The current weapon grind is just insane. I have most of what I'm after, but starting over would be a deal breaker for me.

How can an MMO only three years old not get any new mats for the rest of its life? Will we still be farming rubedite and rubedo in Vvardenfell and Murkmire and up in the mountains where the Greybeards live?

    BTW, I believe some time ago there were some new mats datamined.

    The better question is whether or not it would ultimately make a difference, especially with One Tamriel all but removing levels from the game. If they added Cobalt Ingots, letting you make items up to CP 180, then players would be farming Cobalt Ore in Vvardenfell and Murkmire and every other zone in the game in exactly the same way they'd be farming Rubedite with the current gear cap. Players would have slightly better stats, but would also be fighting enemies with equally better stats. The gameplay, ultimately, would not change one bit. Aside from a huge number of players straight-up quitting the game because the devs single-handedly made all of their hard-earned gear completely obsolete.

    What does change the game is new item sets, new monster sets, new quests, new zones, and new dungeons, even new weapon and armor traits. Not one of those things depends on raising the level cap.

    There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to raise the gear cap, unless ZoS wants to drive players away from the game. It would only force players to grind out all new sets of gear, just to get back to exactly where they were before the change. It would be a massive headache for every CP 160+ player in the game, and would ultimately give them nothing back in return.

    Probably worth noting, that was, in fact, the OP's intention: drive people from the game. This was one of a couple troll threads he started at the same time.

    From what I have heard in the past they didn't want people running around with pink and purple swords which has never made sense to me because people can still run around with bright pink heavy armor.

    I'm inclined to agree that weapon dyeing would be a better solution, because think about it: even if the new material was the same level, same everything as Rubedite except color, you would then need to grind out 100+ materials for mats for each crafted weapon and re-grind for dropped set weapons just for a color change--probably not a worthwhile use of time on our part OR on Zeni's.

    And on the crafting side, if they dropped the mat requirement for the new mat to a more reasonable level, no one would use Rubedite.
