I was away from ESO for about 6mo. The build I had worked pretty well for me at the time, but always a work in progress. Now with all of the new sets I admit I don't know where to begin. I'm looking more towards pve . I'm not wanting to recreate some super build. I just need some tips on some newer set combinations. I appreciate any and all help.

The comments that mNB is really in last place for DPS magic DPS arent wrong. They are essentially a slightly weaker version of sorc. This is true in a perfect trial setting. In casual 4-man stuff, they are great. NBs have a skill for just about everything, and if played well, you barely need a healer. They just dont hit quite as hard as a sorc at the extreme end of things. No reason to delete anything. Haha. As to your race, well that one is up to you. Khajit is totally useless as a magic DPS. As stamina they are arguably the best for damage. If you plan to re-roll, I would just make this toon a stamboy.

For Gear: Any magic DPS set will suffice for what you are up to. You are generally going to want a Monster Set, a Jewerly Set, and a 5 piece.

Obvious 5 pieces are Burning Spell Weave, Scathing, TBS, Julianos. If you have none of them and want to farm, I would farm BSW over Scathing. If you need to craft, I would craft TBS over Julianos. But any of these will do to get you back in the game.

As for a monster Set, Grothdarr is Best IMO. Skoria and Nerienth are also pretty solid if you have them lying around.

As for Jewelry, you really want Aether/Moondancer, but willpower will work in the meantime.

BIS Build Looks something like this for Gear:

    Jewelry: Infallible Aether
    Monster: Grothdar
Rest of Armor: BSW or TBS (depends on situation)
Front staff: Sharp infallible Aether Inferno (or lightning)
    Back staff: Sharp VMA Inferno

A lot of people swap to DW on back bar for trash/AOE, especially if you are one of the lucky few with 2 sharp Moondancer swords.

Since you have been gone, one thing is very clear. SHARP IS KING for weapon traits. Every other trait is complete garbage in PVE. Penetration is everything. You are better off with a non set sharp crafted staff than say a precise VMA staff.

While you build toward that, you could run willpower jewelry and random staffs in sharp. If you get infallible Aether jewelry and one armor piece, you can craft you weapons in TBS and then have 5 TBS, 4 Aether, 2 monster. The BIS build really only works if you have both staffs in sharp, and those are both quite the grind.
