Cyrodiil PVE Instance

I would like to see it happen.

it is really easy to implement since they had plenty of instances for cyrodil before. All you have to do is make a requirement that to enter 'AD-Cyrodil' you have to be AD, and the rest takes care of itself.

There is no real reason not to have the option, so why not. There is open world PVP via duels, so a PVE cyrodil shouldnt be too out of line.

Not sure how a PVE-instanced Cyrodiil would harm PVPers. PVPers could still go to the normal PVP Cyrodiil and kill each other as much as they want.

It would be nice but I can't see it ever happening.

If pvp'ers want to pve (trials, vet dungeons, arenas) they will have to learn the mechanics of each , practice and get better with time. Why is it so hard for you to at least learn the meta and come to Cyrodiil prepared?

How about a quest that bestowes all skyshards, lorebooks and discovery XP in cyrodiil as the quest reward and its task is to travel to all three faction capitals and /yell "I don't like PvP so hand me this stuff because I am entitled" for 15 minutes each?

GTAV passive mode is the most abused mode in virtually any game ever created. Yeah, you can't be killed or attacked. Sure. You can also park a car in front of a store while your buddy shoots a rocket launcher into a guy trying on a pair of jeans.

If you think Cyrodiil is bad now, the trolling with a passive mode would be infinitely worse. Every tank would just put on passive and laugh as their buddies behind them get free shots at you. And if it's not that, they will think of something twenty times worse.

At this point I don't even care if you get your own map to hold hands in while fighting CP160 wolves. Just keep passive mode away from Cyrodiil.

There is a delve I got most of the way though then got murdered that is in the far corner away from where my allance is most of the time it will take me ages to get back there perhaps months.

Cryodil does feel like a war zone and when you go digging around in PVE you feel like you have gone AWOL when your team needs you but at the same time you can find the enemy unexpected whille behind enemy lines or you have to team up to go digging back there in a spec ops squad.

All my PVP solo kills have been people talking to NPCs :P. I am terrible I really need to switch from TF to Azura's star I will next month probably.

OP, if you're looking to explore/do delves and quests, just go to an underpopulated campaign like Haderus, especially when it's not peak hours. I managed to do all the quests, dolmens and delves and only got killed by people maybe 2-3 times (and those were probably avoidable).

Also, @JD2013 and anyone else who's interested: I'm up for doing any of the IC quests if you'd like. I'm currently stuck on the Arena quest, but I can help with previous ones as well if you'd like. Just let me know, game name is same as my forum name (just with @)

. Someone from a different faction waited until I finished the daedra fight, unstealthed, and killed me. Which wasn't hard. When I saw it was a player, I sheathed my weapon. Second try to get to the crafting station; again, the same player attacked from stealth after I finished a fight with npcs, and killed me. Again, I sheathed my weapon. Third try; repeat of the same thing. Fourth try, they finally decided they were tired of killing me, or realized I had no telvar stones. They did attack, but didn't kill me and turned away and I made it into the crafting station. Please explain how exactly that was fun, because I really, really don't get it.

I suspect it wasn't fun - which is why he stopped once he realised there was no fight. In fact, that he waited for you to finish fighting the mobs each time before attacking you shows that this guy was looking for a contest - and not just a faceroll.

This wasn't someone trying to give you a bad day - it was just someone looking for a PVP fight in a PVP zone.. he probably didn't realise it was the same person the 2nd time.. If ganking, I suspect the kill was so quick, he probably didn't realise you weren't trying to fight back (as opposed to just being slow to react/cc'd) until after a few times - after which he stopped..

Can't blame this guy for anything - in fact I'd say he was being really considerate!

Really? So his attacking from stealth the instant I finished the fight, when my health/stamina/magic was low due to the fight was because he was looking for a challenge? Gee. Interesting interpretation. Now, if he would have helped in the daedra fight so my resources weren't really low and then attacked without stealthing, I might believe that. Sorry, I've never really seen behavior by pvp players that indicate they're looking for a challenge or want a real fight. It might be that I keep running into the exceptions, but so far I've never run into any pvp players in Cyrodiil that make the pvp seem the slightest bit interesting or fun.

I don't blame him. I just consider him the typical kill anything that moves, the easier the kill the better pvp player. And one of the reasons I don't do pvp.

you allow open world pvp for us and we will allow you a non pvp Cryodiil.
all we have to do is add a "flagg" option in our options menu, if you click "pvp" in the options menu, then you can attack and be attacked in pvp* and if you choose the "unflagg" option it will then turn OFF your ability to be attacked and you cannot attack others.
it's a win win for everyone.

Great, let's have it straightaway then. You've already got open world PvP by way of dueling, all that is left is for your "unflag" option to be added to PvP in Cyrodiil.

Of course, you might say that dueling in the open world is "PvP-lite", but then the PvE content in Cyrodiil is also "PvE-lite", so it seems a fair exchange.

um...no. Separate instances/separate server, yes. I've said many times I'd be happy to post in support for this. Just about any other possible way to do it would open up ways for people to abuse it. PVP and PVE shouldn't be in the same zones. Even dueling has been used to grief and cause problems for people. Dueling in banks and areas where pve/non-duelers have to go to carry out game business is an example.

You get an open world pvp all the time everywhere instance/server. PVE players would get a pve instance/server. No more pve players screwing up the population caps for pvp players. PVE players get a chance to explore/do pve stuff without the pvp players interfering. That is a win-win for everyone. Where keeping things separate means no one will find ways to abuse the separate intentions.

I still have the impression that the reason that PVP players don't want a separate instance/server because they would lose the chances to gank the pve players, or they are afraid that pvp isn't really as popular as they want everyone to believe, and that many pvp players would leave for the pve only instance if they had the opportunity to do so and the pvp only instance/server would be empty.

Bear in mind that if such a proposal were implemented it would still be open to those who enjoy the challenge and risk involved in doing the PvE content under the threat of PvP to continue as before. There would be nothing to stop such players entering PvP campaigns as now.

Would be better if there were separate servers for IC. But for PvE? Jesus...

Don't act like you need yourself carried to do the simple, mindless quests in the 5 towns. They take like no time, and you can easily go on an empty campaign to finish them. Cyrodiil was made for PvP in its design. If not, they would have made a PvE zone a loooong time ago.

The problem is - there is a fair amount of pve content in a pvp area. There are about 45 quests, 46 skyshards, about 18 delves and numerous books, along with fishing achievements - and that's not even going into the IC/Sewers areas

    Will never happen.

    And shouldn't.

If was designed to be an open PvP area and intended to have risks doing the PvR portion. Heck, it's part of the fun when running quests in Cyro.

Did it on one character. Hardly saw any action but did come across a player here and there.

The problem is - there is a fair amount of pve content in a pvp area. There are about 45 quests, 46 skyshards, about 18 delves and numerous books, along with fishing achievements - and that's not even going into the IC/Sewers areas

I've been playing since beta and I have gone though Cyrodiil completely on several characters; I get it that being killed while you quest can be frustrating and tedious. But the solution isn't to fork a separate instance of the zone. Am I to take this would necessarily include PvE instance of the Imperial City too as it has PvE quests? And on that not, any additional PvP/PvE zone additions; there is more to the broader Cyrodiil landscape we don't already get in ESO.
