A bit more friendly if it says "removed" from guild instead of "kicked"

I had a GM access my account the other day for a ticket I had. In the middle of the dungeon it kicked me off and said "booted from the server". I was thinking the worst of course because of how it sounded. I was also thinking the wording there could be less terror inducing. I was thinking I had gotten hacked!

In this thread: a bucket full of people who probably think saying "GF" after a duel is too PC, and a handful of others literally just looking to change a word to properly reflect the action it describes across a wider array of circumstances.

I like the word "Kicking" just the way it is. Just because you feel guilty doesn't mean that the word has to be replaced.

This is what I was thinking.

Odds are if you are feeling guilty about kicking/removing the player - then that's probably your first indication that maybe you shouldn't do it.

In any case - I don't think this player is going to care one way or the other if it says they have been kicked or removed from the guild. The end result is the same regardless.

I understand that many of you people dived in MMO for the first time - this is only way i can explain this thread. Because if not you should know that with MMO comes specific dictionary. Getting kicked is a common term.

Frankly if someone feels bad for "kicking", that person should feel equally bad for "removing".

I never know the circumstances, but I always assumed it was people voluntarily leaving and when it was like 10 or more in a row it seemed like a rebellion or something, but maybe it was the Guild leader cracking down on rules and kicking violators.

While I don't care about the OP's request, this point is moot. There's a world of difference between what you do to virtual NPCs designed for your entertainment and how you treat actual human beings.

If you decide to split in good relations because someone doesn't fit into the guild just explain it to the guy and give him the chance to leave on his own, at least that's what I do.
That also gives him a chance to keep his face and the guildlog will just show that he left the guild.
If he's acting against guildpolicy or refuses to leave he deserves to be kicked anyways in my opinion.
