What will be the new PvP Meta

Seeing as Viper and the like will be getting "looked at" which is usually ZOS code for NERF!!! What does everyone predict will be the new meta? Will it go back to what it was last patch, or will everyone move back to magicka?

I can see a big return to MagSorc, many have already started coming back. That and magPlar. But I am curious about Stamina.

I bet Spriggan's and Spinner will be the de facto "must have" sets for PvP once the active damage proc sets gets nerfed to the ground. Reducing resistances and penetration will be the biggest damage modifiers after U13.

MagPlar will be strong, specially since everyone has forgotten about Jesus Beam for a while now. They will probably forget to nerf it.

The old kings of burst (mag sorc and stam NB) will rise again. Stam sorcs will fade a bit, or migrate to 2h as a main weapon again.

Defensive templars will still be well represented. Magicka DKs will probably be popular, depending on buffs

    Probably magicka DKs.

Already seeing a lot of these pop up recently, so could be a good guess.

I agree on the dumping of sword and board. Which makes me a little sad honestly. But yea stamBlade and MagSorc incoming.

Amf I have already been seeing MagDK getting ready. I am very curious what they will add to them, as they are already top 3 PvE. I hope they do not just cut down stamina and say see all good.

    Probably magicka DKs.

If all we get is a slightly better Dragonblood, maybe not. But if mDKs get the stam sorc treatment, absolutely.

Part of me would love to be OP for a patch or two, but mostly I just want mDK issues fixed but not overbuffed.

Also, if the proc sets are changed to be DoTs instead of burst damage, as many have suggested, then Magplars will consequently grow a lot stronger because of their purge.

Making extended ritual only 3 debuffs won't really change much. It'll still be an awesome self purge. What we need is a heal debuff that actually works. I sit in Fasallas inside purifying ritual and use reverb bash right after a Templar uses his purge. They still heal up

I don't understand how 1H/S is OP outside of perma-blocking (assuming tremorscale gets a nerf)

They think buffing mag Dk is a good solution. So yea, we will definately see them reign supreme. Which they actually already do secretly.... in the right hands.

But I personally hope, that they take a serious look at magicka Templars. Purifying ritual....

Only after jabs and sweeps will be usable from roots correctly and snares will apply with the 1st tick.

as a magdk main I happy but sad cause I liked being so low on population. I just hope all the do is fix DoTs and fix dragon blood and our sustain problem in pvp. but with how much burst they get now with scoria and spellweave wich is good for how cp works but bad cause I picked magdk for battle control and dots and sustain

I think it's time for Stamplars to be OP. They are the only spec that haven't had their time in the sun. That being said I think they will remain the worst stamina spec and that we will see an even bigger shift towards magicka in PvP.

Stamplar has been good PvP for a long while. They have great damage on jabs, and have the cheapest cleanse on stamina. The 4 stamina are fairly balanced with StamSorc being arguably the best currently.

Stamina nongank NBs will have somewhat of a comback when they no longer run the risk of getting procshot by everyone and their mother.
Medium armor builds in general will capitalize on proccsets getting reworked.

I think people are underestimating stamina buildpotential. Everyone is so focused on direct damage procc sets very few people have in mind that stamina still has better offensive weapon sets than magica does.
Bone Pirate; Draugr Hulk; Seventh Legion; Veiled Heritance; Ravager; Briarheart are all yet to be utilized to their full potential - whereas magica is kind of limited in that regard.
The good magica offensive sets (spellweave; scathing; spinner) are already in use.

Hmm, lets see.. I heard that they wanted to discourage stacking into one stat, and wanted health to be more important.. Maybe health regen builds will become much more of a thing..?

I think heavy armour will be much less common - if proc-sets get balanced, as someone already mentioned, there will be more spriggarns/spinners - high-pen builds. These can bring enough pen to negate the resists that the 5-heavy blackrose dps builds get - probably making them better off with a more old-fashioned med, stam-regen setup.

But then again.. if future builds can have stats more 'balanced' between heath/stam/magicka,, then heavy could be the thing as it benefits them all.

But yeah, since 1T, I'm seeing a resurgence in magicka builds now... of all classes. So I think Magicka will be much more common - but I have a sneaking suspicion that they will make hybrids much more viable too. Perhaps the future could be magicka builds with a decent amount of stam - allowing for the odd stam skill and more resources for dodge/breakfree etc.. Or stam builds with more use of magicka utility abilities..

I kind of think that the changes will be huge - and sweeping - and will mean throwing most of our current builds in the bin.

*edit - I'm speaking only for PVP btw..
