This will happen anyway. Everything that people will want will now move to crates. Look at what happened with every other game that introduced them.
Had to laugh at the wording of the article too. "Eso Welcomes Crown Crates!" Haha no it doesn't. To the vast majority of the players they are extremely unwelcome. The only people welcoming them are the bean counters at ZOS who run things, and the awful marketing director who is in charge of implementing them.

Adding Crown Crates really just means that the game is slowly dying. This a common thing a lot of companies does. They want to squeeze out as much money as possible as a last push before the ship sinks.

That is not how gambling works. No amount of demanding or stamping your feet will make it fair. All we can do is fully reject the gambling boxes, tank their 4th quarter profits, and laugh about it in the spring when they come to their senses.

Sadly as many have already experienced in many other games it does not quite work like that.

They just end up putting items in the crates/boxes that you need to have, that's when the Crates really start to work as they were designed to.

I went ahead and canceled the auto renew on my subscription on my PS4 today.

Strolled over to the PSN store and bought three new titles to occupy my time.

I would like to thank the fine folks in Baltimore for timing this spectular steaming pile of poo perfectly in line with Black Friday game sales and Final Fanatsey release, that's about as much as I could have hoped for.

I have lost all respect for zos, they do not care about their player base any longer, its all about the rng money and sucking your wallet dry, i am a collector i would of liked some of those new mounts but i will not touch those crates, in fact with the crowns i have saved up i am going to buy the dlc's and then cancel my sub, i no longer support this game financially, you try to monetize to this point and turn me and others into a cash cow, my money walks!.

The people who visit the forums make up a very small part of the population of this game.

Not only will they sell well they will sell exceptionally well.

They went o a lot of one and effort to make sure these mounts look sic and operate smoothly. You will not see a Breton hero costume here.

Crowns will fly off the shelves in a couple of days.

And the people who pushed this idea have been laughing at everyone who posted against it everyday. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

And while I don't begrudge a company making a profit especially if they make a product I enjoy, this is about a blatant cause of focused wallet extortion as you will see. Short of a re-wording of the announcement to say we created some ultra cool stuff and someone in the office had the bright idea that I stead if selling it to you we could let you gamble/lottery/RNG for it. Basically we made it and we want more of your money then you would probabally spend for it, so buy a box or don't. See ya suckers.

It's genius marketing and complete crap to players who have been here spending their money and supporting their product. They don't feel any loyalty so neither do I.

I know you really wanted the wolf mount and hate camel mounts, enjoy your atronach camel.

That buzzing in you headphones is not feedback it's the engineer putting the whole marketing team at ZOS laughing at a very low level whilest you buy crate after crate it's their second joke after you know he crates themselves.

Oh by the way we're doing this all over agin in three months and I guarantee the crown seasons will be on time and fully polished ready to go.

The issue i have with it is yes i want the products in those crates but i wont purchase through an unjust system, the issue here is they are following the same route and business model as many other mmo's, as i understand it they have hired people to monetize the game and in many peoples opinions monetizing it in the wrong direction, you will see less real work done on the core game and expansions and quality of life options and more and more time put into making exclusive items to shove in the crates. The housing thats coming well you can bet that the core of that is going to evolve around crown store as well, i would like to know how many dedicated hours are being put into the actual game and not the crown store/rng boxes.

I played mmos for a long time I'm use to mystery boxes. MMOs are my hobby and I love eso I don't mind at all paying to support the game I love and get a rare mount that few will have, not all of us are teens with no job and money.

If all it take is a few hundred dollars to get what I want I don't really care.

If you spend a few hundreds of dollars for 1 cosmetic item to use IN A GAME i feel sorry for you. That's loser warning right there. These crown crates is actually just pure greed from ZOS and a sign that the ship will soon sink and that they are just squeezing the last money out of their players before the game dies.

Well, you're certainly not the norm.
If most people who support these realized it could take $300+ to obtain one mount they were after they would not still be behind the system.

I'm not a teenager, and I have a six-figure income, and this smacks of being a rip-off to me. Just because I make enough money to mindlessly *** it away on useless digital items doesn't mean I'm willing to, and I am fairly certain most people (even with the means) would agree with me.
