Good luck.

Took me like 6 days at 5500 crowns per day to get an atro mount on the PTS. Some people tested every single day (8 days) and didn't get one. I don't imagine the crown gem return on consumables will be significant enough to change much.

Allthough they will probably start with the droprates increased to draw buyers in...and then drop it once whales are hooked properly

So they lied outright when they said they would not contain exclusive mounts or cosmetic items, that they would only contain ones that were previously in the Crown Store as Limited Offers so people had a chance to get them. I think many people assumed you'd be able to get the storm atronach mounts another way.

@Nebthet78 I don't recall that at all. I actually recall seeing video of Matt announcing them and exclusive mounts was one of the first things he mentioned.

I don't like them either, but I'm darn sure we knew all along there would be exclusive stuff.

I would rather buy another DLC then by these CROWN CRATES like a trial in COLDHARBOUR I don't understand why there's not one there.

I would rather pay 10k crowns for a mount I want than spend even 10 crowns for one that I don't.

I've played this game long enough to know RNG is not in my favor. Zenimax really wants me to put my real money in their hands?
Its basically gambling. Why not throw up an ESO Poker site.

I do NOT have an issue spending tons of money on this game. I horseback ride irl and my hobby is EXPENSIVE. Zenimax give me something concrete. The lottery is a poor man's game for a reason. I know better than to think I'm going to get struck by lightning.

If you don't want them crates don't buy them. But better pray someone else will unless you are prepared to pay 20k crowns and increased sub fee for the next big content dlc.

Crown crates are great - for a small development effort they will generate nice amount if revenue. So ZOS can keep focusing most of the resources developing the next big thing for an affordable price.

Yes, they will.

They'll just add more things like the buffed experience potion/scroll. Or maelstrom weapons. Or the bis dropped gear. Whatever it takes to get people to buy them.

While I am not a fan of the crates, I will say that they exclusive stuff has always been stated to be in the crates. Matt's interview said the crates would contain consumables with a chance at a rare exclusive item and discontinued/retired items from the crown store.

The only things that were ever said to be definitely in the crates were the consumables.

Why bother with dlc that requires real work? Making shinies for the crates is easier and faster.

When the content that was mostly done before they scambox person was hired is released, I wonder how much real content we'll get compared to how much crate stuff is released.

Even better would be a return to the sub model. I'd pay 15 quid a month and buy the odd costume if they appealed. Totally preferable for handing over money for absolutely nothing I wanted in the first place.

I just hope the endeavor to add gambling boxes to the game doesn't ruin the quality of the rest of the game - it has happened with other companies.

I agree with the notion that if people restrained themselves and no one bought into this lottery that ZOS would need to come up with a different plan.

I enjoy many elements of ESO. I truly do feel that it is a great game with a few blemishes here and there. When the game works, it is awesome.

Sadly, when I see stuff like this implemented into a MMO... I just shake my head. There are many people that won't be able to restrain themselves and end up purchasing many many lottery tickets.

I do not respect these types of actions... preying upon the weaknesses of human beings. bleh.

I have actually purchased many things off the store... this lottery I will NOT be participating in.

The bundles will probably be glitched abit at first, so I would avoid purchasing the bundles the first couple of days. Go with the singles first. Then if the bundles are proven to not be glitched, aka no one is complaining about them not giving out any mounts. Then go for it.

Even if they do sell well the execs will see the profits and push for more and more to be in the crates.

There is no upside here.

A "good" thing about this is that new crown crate "content" is added quarterly only, so for three months the crown crates stay as they are...means two weeks after release they're a hot topic and the rest of the time they'll hopefully be easily ignored.
