what do you mean by that? How is it gold for crowns if you just buy a house or furniture? I am assuming it is account bound so it is just for your particular account or character. And no advantage in game... This seems like the best thing they could monetize without impacting game play.
Real money for a virtual house......knowing they are gold mostly

May as well offer gold for crowns

    ..............That's Pay 2 Win.

You all do realize they've clearly stated housing is in game gold so if they then go and add access to the crown store.....yeah you're asking for crowns to replace gold.

Furniture is crafting so...yeah pay2progress or skip crafting not like motifs.

But you aren't affecting anyone else because you can't sell that furniture unlike the furniture you craft. I see no issue with selling furniture in the crown store unless it is furniture that cannot be crafted.

It impacts everyone extremely because you're removing the need of gold.
When people mention pay2win it's about giving people with money (real money) an out to bypass required gameplay and progress.

Let's say houses start at 300k in game gold. That means thegame economy and people gameplay would be required in order to earn the gold for each home as we can have many on our account.

Opening up crowns basically bypasses any need to play the game.
It's similar to people who farm and sale motifs for profit, when ZOS decided to put motifs in the crown store in the first 90 days after a motif is added to the game, it's a big hit on the games exonomy. Consider motif sale for 30k - 250k or more per page.

That's a bad idea to put houses in the crown store.
They actually should only be in game gold or quests.

Now if they wanted to add furniture motif or schematics in 120 days later or so....o k but not the homes.
Homes in the crown store is like selling research in the crown store

How many of you guys paid RL money on heartfire DLC for Skyrim?

It depends on the situation, our selection of location, and design of housing. Would I get to personally select an area that I can build my house in? What if I wanted to live in Coldharbour... would I be allowed to build a foundation in that region?
More importantly would I have a chest that I can store all of my inventory stuffs in that is unlimited to what is given to us in Skyrim?

Depends what the house actually provides. If it's just a place to decorate and AFK in then I wouldn't spend any. Now if it increased my bank space by like 500 slots, I'd pay a hefty amount of crowns for it.

As of right now I don't think we know enough about housing to even debate how many crowns people will spend. Other than those of us that are all about weird ERP and decorating games.

I do not see the big deal, I love buy to play mmorpgs because once I buy the game I then can spend money when I want to for supporting the company and for stuff I want in the store that is not pay to win. They are such an awesome company they earned it guys. As far as houses go as long as they add some cool morrowind looking house I will likely spend some crowns for it.

I don't see the difference. You're still paying RL for a virtual house :)

Like I said before if I can have total freedom of what house I get and the location... I wouldn't mind paying RL money on crowns to purchase housing instead of using my gold. I'm certain that housing will be very expensive in gold currency.... Not everyone has a lot of gold these days nor have access to trading guilds that are parked in heavily populated areas.

I highly doubt that the biggest home will cost a million gold... It will probably be in the 10s if not 20 million gold range.... maybe even more.

Anyhow It would be nice if ZOS would allow players to buy homes using crowns instead of gold.

Uhhmmm it's a big difference. If they let you buy a house, may as well let ppl buy research for crafting or buy exp lines like mages guild or enchanting. But then why play if everything is for real money.....may as well just play real life and quit gaming.

Yea id Pay 0. Not buying a house with cash. That said ill pay crowns for dlc so long as its more than just housing.not directly paying crowns for a house. And I've gotta say people are getting too overhyped about housing. I'm almost 100% sure its not gonna be like skyrims or anything people are expecting them too be.

Lucily, I don't have to spent any. Since houses can be bought with in game gold I am going to use that on them.
But I believe ZOS will introduce some nice decorative items in CS, whcih I might buy if I find them interesting.

Why would I buy a DLC just so I can build a house? I bough all of the other Skyrim add ons, bought every house available in game but was not going to buy a DLC just to build one.

The only interest I have in housing is if they come like they did in Skyrim; plenty of storage, crafting stations, etc. The display cabinets and the display dummies were a nice feature but are not essential.

To me it depends what will be coming with the house. If extra bank space, craft stations for all sets if unlocked via trait research.. then ill consider my spendings.. if theres nothing useful coming with the houses then its big fat 0.

Honest answer. For giga sized house, with crazy stash space, armor displays that have integrated option to one click swap with what I have on my char, respec shrines, combat dummies, stables, crafting stations, fountains, swimming pools, skooma lab, garden for alchemy, garden for pumpkins, garden for my feline pets to play with each other, dungeon with breton and altmer prisoners to be sacrificed to Molag Bal, fishing pond, library for all the books I found, banker, vendor, sauna, Stuga etc.

I would pay that 5000 crowns
