The problem with the DLC bundle on the Crown Store is that it's limited to just your server. So if you play on PC/NA, you'll unlock the DLCs there, but they won't be available if you decide to play on PC/EU. In contrast, the codes you buy and activate outside of the Crown Store--e.g, Imperial Edition code or Gold Edition code--will activate those features across your entire account, regardless of what server you're on.
If you never plan to check out another server, this is a moot issue...

Thank you, I currently play on the EU server as I am based in the UK, I must admit I had not considered changing server.
The Crown store currently are charging £14.39 which is very tempting. Does that come with a mount etc like the gold edition?
But equally tempted to buy the gold edition if no mount in the dlc bundle as I have no mount currently, but still a bit confused if I can use a gold code with my current account, gold code is currently £19.99

If I recall correctly - gold edition is only for new players only. If you buy it - you need to make a new account to activate it on.
Guilds and Glory pack is meant as an upgrade for existing customers. (You can also use leftover crowns to buy a starter pack which is on sale atm for dirt cheap and includes a unique horse, a pet, some potions/food/xp scroll).

Or would it only work if I bought direct through the eso website?
I am fairly low level 22, but I am not a big fan of restarting back at level 1 if the eso gold purchase would only work on a brand new account.
Advice pls TYI
"free as long as you pay", I love that.Justwondering wrote: »I'm a returning player with just the original content, but very tempted by the gold eso price, would be a great way to obtain all the current DLC, is it possible to upgrade my current account by buying a gold eso? Or you can become a ESO member then get all DLC and future DLC for free as long as you pay your membership that way you dont have spend so much money.
In theory, it should not be possible to upgrade an existing account on PC/Mac using a Gold Edition, as Gold Editions are for new accounts. If you tried to add a Gold Edition code to your existing account, you would likely receive an error stating "You do not qualify for this product".

That's why I said "in theory". It's not supposed to work, but there are rare instances, such as this Steam account linking situation, where it does.I really wish people would stop posting this outdated misinformation. You can indeed now buy a Gold edition (through Steam at least) and link it to your existing non-Steam account. I know because I just did it. I had a non-Steam version of the game that I bought at launch and I just upgraded by buying the Steam version and linking it to my existing account. It even recognized all my existing addons when it installed. In theory, it should not be possible to upgrade an existing account on PC/Mac using a Gold Edition, as Gold Editions are for new accounts.
