Vote kick feature is being seriously abused...

Now that I've had a chance to read the thread, I understand the OP's concern.

I agree that if someone is kicked based on prejudice, then they shouldn't be locked out for fifteen minutes.

My ideas:

• No combat has been initiated, reset cooldown on person(s) kicked.
• Player has not died, reset cooldown on person(s) kicked.

A punishing suggestion for those that abuse the kicking tool would be to lock the instance, that will not allow others who are queueing with the dungeon finder to be placed in there. Only by invite can someone join that instance at that point. Two kick capacity may be agreeable to lock the instance, and to be fair, only if those kicks resulted in a cooldown being reset by the suggested conditions.

Grouping tool is purely a tool for putting a healer, a tank and 2 DPS into a dungeon. The only thing it does in managing this is check what a player has selected their role as (so 4 of the same roles don't get grouped together) and ensures only level 50's get into vet dungeons.

It is not for grouping four 561 cp players together, it is not for putting four sub level 50's together and it does not check you are kitted, skilled or prepared for the dungeon or role you are about to run.

Anyone who expects anything more from the current grouping tool needs to go away and form their own groups. Alternately we keep bombarding ZOS with suggestions about how to fix the tool instead of fighting among ourselves.

People get kicked to save potential time, they QQ about the players kicking them and not zos and its poor implementation of the group tool and a bunch of people saying why they should be carried or why people shouldn't have to carry others.

And if you realllllly want it summed up, someone was putting in a HEAP of opinion and just said they have yet to even do a vet dungeon, lol this community...

if you got kicked that means the other 3 people voted you out. So what you wanted to group for is NOT what they wanted and they are the majority in that group, fair? no. Wait time fair? no. Fair that the majority get to do the run the way they want? Yes.

Nice try but failed again. I have done plenty of Vet dungeons. Completed Elden Root II Vet just today, but haven't had time to get to the others yet. My credibility is not at question here.

The original comment was to imply I haven't tried doing a vet BEFORE the normal version.

In my personal experience 99% of low cp players arent able to do the new vet dungeons. That said I will ALWAYS give them the opportunity to prove me wrong but if you wipe at first trash pull or first boss ... I will vote to kick.

I personally stopped queuing for random vet... Never know if you will finish the dungeon or waste a half hour or more. I just do normal these days unless I am in a premade which is perfectly fine for me since I still enjoy normal dungeon runs.

It is about treating everyone fairly and with respect, just because 3 people want to kick a 4th from a group does not mean the 4th person has been treated fairly and with respect.

Any thread that tries to get people to look at how they behave towards each other is not a thread that should get closed down, unless we live in society where everyone who speaks up is taken out the back and shot for stepping out of line.

that is a group finder glitch, it wasnt someone disbanding it just didnt form group. just gonna have to deal with that. its one of the glitches zos dont care to fix just like they dont care to fix the disappearing quest npc glitch.

hmm sounds to me there was something else going on. alternating heal springs and shards is a very stable restro-templar heal rotation, keeps steady stream of heals going out and does aoe damage plus allows tank/dps to synergize at will for stamina return.

I ran C of A 2 with a CP 126 tank that had 65000 health. He carried all of us through it. I've also seen sub vet level guys smoke CP500 guys in a non vet. CP is no measure to a guys ability.

there was only once that i opted in a vote to kick and i felt bad for doing so.... the guy we kicked queued for all 3 roles and ran around with only a bow spamming acid spray and snipe .... we asked in chat MULTIPLE times if he really was a tank but never replied... and after a few of us died cause he wasnt taunting at all and he just stood there not we voted to kick

I do not think you should feel bad about kicking that player. It is deliberate to sign up for all three roles, and it was obvious that it was so that (s)he could enter a dungeon faster. Queuing for a role you're not fitted for warrants removal.

I just had a great time tonight doing both pledges with the final boss on HM and made a friend from the first group, it was honestly the most fun refreshing experience I've had since I've been back.

Were my teammates higher CP then me? Sure, did I pop potions and epic quality food and pull my weight? You bet your keester.

Vet dungeons are harder then when you ran them before.

There are a millions things to do to level up. Don't expect to be carried through vet dungeons.

Sorry bro... stop queuing for vet dungeons. a low CP, undergeared, bad player can seriously hamper the party... some are good. some high CP players are awful. it's true... But an undergeared, underleveled player in the tank position can really screw the party. People aren't trying to be elitist, they're not trying to be cruel... they're just trying to not waste a whole lot of time carrying a party.

This isn't abuse of the votekick. this is its intended function. Get over 160 CP. go grinding or whatever. sorry it's gotta be this way.

I don't think we've been reading the same thread. The issue here is the 15 minute lockout on kick.

I tanked/dps Banished Cells 2 normal with a 10, 15 and 30. I am 220CP. We didn't whipe once. There is absolutely no skill needed for normal dungeon runs. Now vet dungeons are a different entity.

The grouping tool is not Tinder - you don't just swipe away the uglies. You run with them. If they need to be carried, then carry them. Nut up. If you are sooooo busy that you don't have time to carry the uglies, then don't use the tool.

They should do it in a way that after being vote kicked, you will not receive that 15 minutes penalty...This would be useful especially when bugs like 5 players in a group happen, because then there is always one person who will receive the penalty without him doing anything wrong...

Really, the timeout should only be there for people who intentionally left the instance. Not just, "oh, hey, you were in this zone, 15 minutes for you!"

Did they add a "561's only" checkbox?

No one should expect quick runs when using group finder, it's there for everybody to use so naturally you get people with all different skill levels. If people don't want that unpredictability then they should probably avoid Group Finder in favour of a regular team of guildies.

Continually kicking people that others in the team don't deem worthy and slugging them with a 15 minute penalty will cause us all problems in the long run. If people continue to do that then eventually enough people will complain and the kick feature will get taken away, therefore taking it away for when it's legitimately needed, like for offline people and AFK people.

One thing I will admit is that the harder dungeons like the DLC ones should be locked behind a minimum CP requirement.

If players want group with elites, they should ask in Craglorn or guild chats.

If players dont like the party group tool gave them, they should leave and take the 15min timer.

Its poor game mechanic where others can inflict 15min penalty on others for being new or having low cp points.

I'm all for giving new people a chance. And I think the dungeon finder is great to meet new players, and to help them learn group content (which plays out very differently from the overworld solo content). But it does make me cringe a bit when I get placed on a veteran dungeon with people in the low cp range (less than 120) because it's likely they're still learning their role, and they would probably be more successful doing the normal versions first.

Luckily, many low CP players are surprisingly competent - like the 2 DD in their 160s during yesterday's Volenfell HM. And some CP561+ players have no idea what they's doing - like a "veteran" guy I once say doing 2k dps in vet Banished Cells II...

If you're using the group finder, do it as an exercise in your capacity to adapt, as a learning tool, and as a way to welcome new people to the game (who may not yet have guilds and groups of friends). If you're looking for a quick/smooth run... ask your guilds or friends to come with you.
