Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia?

I thought it was interesting that the thing you need to craft both the recipe and the item is only located in the original game zones. So if I want to learn it, craft it, or just get the things so I can sell them, I have to find a new farming location. And this may or may not be important. Depends on how flower prices go for me personally. But, if I am going to be farming anyways, why wouldn't I go somewhere that gives me a chance to get this new item to sell instead of an area that does not? Super lame. I have always preferred farming in Wrothgar.

I don't know about you guys, but I personally find that an XP boost does in no way justify the amount of grinding/effort/money you have to put into these Ambrosia potions, whether the old or new one, whether to buy or to make them yourself. :)

a big +1 on this you are most definitely right there

Here's an interesting bit of math.

If your provisioner can make 4 drinks for the price of 1, then you start by making 4 psijic ambrosias.

Then you turn those 4 psijic ambrosias into mythic aetherial ambrosias, again getting 4 for the price of 1.

Now you have 16 mythic aetherial ambrosias, for the cost of 1 perfect roe and 4 aetherial dust doodads.

Do we know for sure that one psijic becomes 4 mythical?

I suspect the Aetherial Dust doodads will be non-trivial though. Interesting math regardless however.

Wait so I have to pay another 200k for a recipe again???? Surely the recipe is already in my inventory / Shalidors edetic memory or whatever.

Right so as soon as we log on we all go and gobble up all fragment parts for sale and triple the prices. ..good one zos. What a *** idea. Sorry but it's the most lame idea you've come up with. You really disabled the game for this shite? Guess you'll be adding in the 13th toon slot to crown stores asap too.

@DRXHarbinger Pretty much, bruh-bruh. And best believe more things like are in the future. In the words of the khajiit of these forums, "Dark moons..."

Yeah exactly... I see no point in actually going for this item. It's just easier to use what most people already have. It's just a new shiney to keep people preoccupied because there is no real new content in the game.

A lot of people don't seem to connect the dots... The grinder is not necessarily the user. Some players would buy items that might not be worth grinding for. If the grind takes forever, raise your price to compensate. These things will randomly drop for players to sell, which means they will be for sale if anyone wants to pay the enormous cost.

This is really only useful for people below the cap of 561cp and the prices they will sell for will be crazy stupid because of the long grind needed so players will just spend crowns instead because it's way quicker and cheaper!

Only reason they have put it in is because the crown version is coming and people like to complain about stuff like that.

Also, when they say the Cipher drops from monsters, do they mean literally everything? Like will it drop for me from Sabre Cats around The Rift for instance? Or do they mean from things like skeletons and actual monsters?

Anyone that is re-grinding for a new Regular Ambrosia recipe? Are any of your writs returning any fragments?

I stopped doing them after finally finishing and there were many anecdotes that if you had one you wouldn't get any more fragments. Or you had to start a new character to get any or etc.

And the PTW/Progress faster crowd can stfu now...

Sooooo now aside from the ridiculous amount of time it takes to get Perfect Roe via farming for a 30 minute exp boost, we have to get a whole new psijic ambrosia recipe because who cares about long time crafters, right? But now we need to grind to grind to grind.

This is stupid. I would rather just go kill crap for a day and get to max level anyway than even bother to make this.

I never stopped, but I suppose I'll be hanging on to recipe fragments instead of selling them until I get all seven. Again. :\ So that's another seven bank slots I'll never see again.

I've got a 3 full sets, and about 20 or so extra's above that. They definitely drop from the provisioning writs after you have the recipe.

So is this a step towards Easternising the game? Just like Korean MMOs westernised to be less grindy, apparently, ZOS likes to switch things up a bit and make it more grindy. Looking for a new market?

Well those anecdotes are not true, I am still getting ambrosia recipe fragments from writs and it has always been possible to keep getting them and turn them into recipes (I sold the whole psijic recipe just a couple of weeks ago :| ) - however the drop rate is quite low.

Last time I've checked psijic recipe pieces were sold for next to nothing in guild stores. I guess this will slightly change now for a while. Patience is a virtue here - remember the same fragments selling for 2-300k each on the first day being introduced just to drop to 20-30k a week later.

    Too late.

Today on XB EU. There were only 3 completes for sale...I bought 2 of them one for 175k. .one for 250k. ..the other with 30 days left was 1m.

    Fragments have crept up slightly.

Well done zos on giving the console market a heads up and pc got jack.

Now on console zos no one has any chance in hell in obtaining this new recipe. The fragments were always stupidly rare. I've had 2 since day one and had to buy the others as I gave up. Now....well.

I never bothered trying to get the Psijic Ambrosia recipe and I sure as Oblivion won't bother getting this new one. As for that new Aetheric Cipher converter thingy, yesterday someone on PC EU Wrothgar said in zone they wanted to buy one for 1 million. Some players are going to get rich from this new craft grind.
