Oh lord, farming VMA....

So my first VMA took around 12 hours, second about 3. I expect to take another dozen hour or so to get it down to an hour run.....And that's already exhausting enough...

I can't really imagine doing hundreds of runs after that...

Just can't imagine spending this much time mastering solo content and repeat it SOLO for a few hundred hours..

I'm going to pray that the new expansion brings a replacement for stam BIS weapons, preferably as hard group content..

Yep I think I may only complete vMA a couple times before I stop altogether no matter which weapons I get. That is if I can even finish it. I have been stuck on the final stage for days

I honestly cant even get past the 2nd round....I can be fully shielded with heals going and I still just get hammered by damage and I really don't even notice what kills me lol

i don't understand why is this solo content it feels like i'm soloing vet tempest isle final boss on every round

On my templar, no, I would be inclined never to do it again because it is not fun and my middle finger hurt for about 3 days afterwards from spamming jabs On my sorcerer its much more fun, I have even started using it to test out new sets and stuff on her because she flies through it, but the loot I don't care about much because I am super lucky and got all that I wanted during the first few runs on her, and even got some good stamina weapons should I so choose to play stam one day (certainly not before it is nerfed )

Finished my first vma when the event started - had been at last boss for half a year. Done it ~10+ times to this day, fastest at about one hour at the moment. Imo if you have good gear, build and knowledge, it's not impossibly hard in the end.

So far only bad loot, thpugh x)

Having cleared vMA on almost every class/resource combination (just missing stamplar; he's only level 22), my personal experience is that stam DK is the easiest stam and easiest melee, with only magblade and magsorc being easier.

The downside of the stam DK is that you don't have any innate heals like Surge or Sweeps, but if you take the healing DW morphs (Bloodthirst and Blood Craze) and couple that with Vigor, you'll have more than enough heals. The main benefit of the stam DK is the reflect. It completely changes several parts of the arena, and many difficult areas (particularly in stage 5) become trivially easy when you can flap those wings and let the ranged enemies commit suicide while you focus down the melee.

I do have a stam DK, was my second ever character to level, but not played my little kitty in a very long time, over a year even, but perhaps I will brush up on him and try it out, I do love a challenge

Well my skill level is at least top 10% of the ESO player pool. I've cleared both VMA and vet trials.......So no need to slap me with the "git gud" ***...

Vet trials is challenging too but it's fun figuring things out with my guild...I just don't prefer extreme difficult solo content as much....

Oh ya I'm sure there are no small numbers of very skillful players who could complete VMA quite easily if they wanted too. They're most likely more into group content like vet hard mode.

lol maybe i'm not in the elite ranks of players yet but those were my numbers with a stam sorc.

I'd imagine other characters would take double that.

I don't know about you but what gets me killed in vMA is the fact that my ping is constantly 300+ so I'm in the red region according to ESO's ping tracker. Sometimes I wish I was back in the UK just so I can complete vMA.

Yeah, slight delays after pressing weapon/class abilities can & will get you killed. Even when you have 'successfully' roll dodged out of the one-shot-kill red dials on the ground, it's not confirmed whether you're safe from it even if you did everything right (I did) but alas, I was killed anyways.

Seems to me that high ping is the actual boss here in ESO as I try to always predict what would happen a few or more hundred milliseconds ahead lol.

I did it on mdk yesterday, double destro too. Tested out iceheart, that little shield is pretty useful

Anyway i've tryed with all my toons stam dk, stam nb, stam sorc and hybrid templar but Since i've rolled a new mag Templar it feels like easymode.

This. The more you get hit, the more the bleed stacks, too. What helps me is following the outermost blade and ranging the enemies until the levers spawn again, then I can attack normally until the blades start moving again, repeat.

It has to be there to get accurate metrics on what classes and builds are really struggling.
You cant balance anything if you cant determine how imbalanced they are individually.
Fundamentally, to get the most mutually rewarding group experience, the solo experience must be equally challenging for a multitude of builds.
Damage shields have shown how seriously OP they are.
[although you could argue the rounds overall favour the use of damage shields]

Anyway, people keep crying out for test dummies to gauge build improvement.
Maelstrom gives you multiple test dummies of all shapes and sizes.

Confirmed, it was painful. It will switch you out of first person to over the shoulder view when zoning through portals though. And you cant go back to 1st person until you go through another portal. Immersion was totally broken.

Still on the fence about farming vMA for the event.

I got many good candidates but the one I was planning to do the first clear with is parked in PvP in need of caltrops. On the other hand I really don't need anything from that place either. I would make it work if I had the weapons but right now most is planned with using two full dropped sets and monster on top of that.

My first clear would be just for the completion and to do this I need energy. That is something I often lack after a stressful day at the job.

We'll see.... the event is far from over and I might have the energy and last skills ready to give it a go this weekend. Too bad I'm working most of Saturday....
