Best way to self heal a DK

I'm using conjulated blood on my tank bar and burning embers on dps bar, is this as good as it gets or is there a more effective skill I should be using?

If you are running a stam build use Restoring Vigor, a morph of Vigor, for the Alliance War Assault line.

If you are running magica, you can back bar a resto staff and use Healing Ward, and morph of Steadfast Ward.

I'm not sure if you are a tank or dps, but as a tank the igneous shield-vigor combo is very strong.

Don't forget to use igneous shield before the heal. Igneous shield has major mending built in to improve the amount of healing.

So for example when you go to heal this is what it should look like,

    Igneous Shield than Rally/Vigor/Blood

Healing ward is for *** who like to flee and run away. Embers is for those that like to kill. Don't forget inhale in a mob.

Suppose I could pvp for the skill you mention its something I'm not into but would rather that than using a staff, thanks.

Tank but for mobs I like a big sword with aoe skills.

It will be worth it for your tanking, also pick up the ultimate from that skill line, War Horn. Best party buff a tank can run.

It really depends on what your trying to do and if your mag or stam as others have pointed out.

If you run primarily solo, why a tank bar?

If your running with a group why do you need to be able to solo heal so well?

With the exception of a few fights (final arena in vDSA) I cannot think of many times a tank really need to be able to heal oneself so effectively. Maybe a few seconds while someone gets a res on the healer.

At that, CP points into healing effectiveness helps. Igneous shield prior to the heal helps further. If using Coag blood health needs to be below 50% to be worthwhile.

Oh yeah forgot about inhale, used it before but on my sword shield vs single bosses and it was pretty much useless so dismissed it, would work much better on my dps mob bar instead of burning embers thanks.

Inhale is awesome. I use it on my healer's back bar, if she gets aggro from adds due to the healing. It buys me enough time to easily walk them over to the tank so the dps can AoE them down.

I spend 90% of my time doing random dungeons sometimes the healer ain't great or one misses me needing help and tbh I'm not that guy who relies solely on others to get me through every difficult situation.

If you're a magicka build (my 2 DKs who I tank with are both magicka builds) then your best bet is going to be:
Igneous Shield -> Coagulated Blood -> Burning Embers/Inhale
And use them in that order. Well, Burning Embers can be used first actually, the important thing is that the heal hits you while Igneous Shield and Coagulated Blood are active.

If you're a stamina build it would be pretty much the same except that you'd want to swap Burning Embers/Inhale for Vigor.

I kind of follow a similar philosophy with my tank builds. I always try to make sure I've got some decent self-heals available so that I don't strain the healer's resources too much. I don't always need to use them, but when I'm on a DK at a minimum I'll usually keep re-applying Burning Embers regularly.

Yeah most of the times your fine but there can be occasions when you need some self healing.

To be completely honest I have no idea if I'm stamina or majica build, is health a build? Maybe you can tell me...

Hmm, looks like you're a hybrid leaning towards stamina. Hybrid builds can work for tanks, because most tanks need all 3 resources, but I usually go significantly heavier in one resource than another even when tanking. Because your stamina pool is higher it's likely that Vigor will provide you with a bigger heal, so if you've got Vigor I'd go that route if I were you.

Keep either DB up or Volatile armor, igneous shield and vigor. Strong heal. Igneous is a good stam return, and vigor if popped at the right time will keep u alive
