The possibility of adding capes in ESO

Either you have no clue how things work or you are trolling. The boss fight you describe has 4 players and a few NPCs, while capes for everybody means hundreds of people at once in PvE or PvP.

Uncomparable.

Apparently i do since every other major MMO is able to handle simple clothing physics. Find it hard to believe this game's engine cannot.

Your comparison between a boss fight and capes for everybody is broken. Your assessment about the crappy state of ESO's antiquated, hacky and therefore buggy renderer is not.

I think the incredibles movie had it down perfectly. NO CAPES.

Capes are pretty common thing in RPGs. Even ESO has capes on every wallpaper and trailer. There is a big reason to have capes in a video game RPG, this isn't real life simulator but RPG fantasy. These things help customize your character and since ESOs armors are so lacking in quality I think it would be a fine addition.

@Neverysak I'm sorry bru but it appears all video's of early Alpha ESO footage with capes is now gone, I also couldn't find them anymore on youtube, reddit or dailymotion.

Ill give a shoutout to @Dominoid and see if he has a link to an active video of the pre alpha cape footage.

They certainly could make capes! Ones that don't lag the server. the cape animation would most likely be horrible but who cares man its a cape. I'd personally rather have a cape that doesnt move with every gust of wind or every time my char moves. Just a simple sway to the left or right and then slightly back when moving forward. This is not rocket science here and they'd probably make it cost $10 per cape so a big win for ZOS

Exactly.. and since all the animations in this game are so basic I don't think it would be much work.

They looked pretty bad, too. They didn't have a natural flow but did that "out and down" deal to be compatible with a lot of armor types which tends to look pretty bad because it's a single design that has to work for every style of armor.

I mean maybe the whole engine was just a bad idea for this game. Everything looks so basic. Don't get me wrong, I like the game and its content, but when something as basic as capes can't be made, then there must be some kind of error.

i dont see all the fuss about having capes. So what if other games has it, ESO doesnt. make it unique imo, one of the few mmos without capes.

Got no issues if it comes later though just that, why ask for something that already had a lot of bad history (aka lag). Just dont see it at all really.

I like the idea of having capes, I always like the animation effects of clothing, especially capes fluttering everywhere.

I can see cutting issues with capes though when fighting, they could get in the way too but yep all for capes.
