Because they did try to add capes in the beginning but due to game engine limitations (and the severe lag), they couldn't be added nor will they ever
Either you have no clue how things work or you are trolling. The boss fight you describe has 4 players and a few NPCs, while capes for everybody means hundreds of people at once in PvE or PvP.AsteriaStarfall wrote: »Because they did try to add capes in the beginning but due to game engine limitations (and the severe lag), they couldn't be added nor will they ever
So we can get the exploding "glass" on the last boss of Vaults of Madness (which btw is my most favorite graphic effect in any boss fight of any game)
Entire lightning storms from Destro staff ultimate
Spear shards that blaze down in glory or the mage guild Meteor that slams down from the heavens and sends everything up in the air only to be slammed back down.
Majestic landscapes that feel almost like you are really there complete with owls, birds, and butterflies all moving about.
But
Is to much for the engine and causes lag? How crappy is this engine?

Uncomparable.
Your comparison between a boss fight and capes for everybody is broken. Your assessment about the crappy state of ESO's antiquated, hacky and therefore buggy renderer is not.AsteriaStarfall wrote: »Lava_Croft wrote: »Either you have no clue how things work or you are trolling. Apparently i do since every other major MMO is able to handle simple clothing physics. Find it hard to believe this game's engine cannot.
I can't find any video about them.

@Neverysak I'm sorry bru but it appears all video's of early Alpha ESO footage with capes is now gone, I also couldn't find them anymore on youtube, reddit or dailymotion.
Ill give a shoutout to @Dominoid and see if he has a link to an active video of the pre alpha cape footage.

They looked pretty bad, too. They didn't have a natural flow but did that "out and down" deal to be compatible with a lot of armor types which tends to look pretty bad because it's a single design that has to work for every style of armor.Capes from early footage:
Spider Battle at 2:27, Left Argonian at 2:55, Solo Imperial? at 3:05

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if Zenimax online would be able to add capes into ESO. The point of why this game does not have capes aldready from what I heard is that they caused server lag. It has been two years since then and the techonology got some improvement. I think it would be awesome for this game to have capes. As almost in every ESO wallpaper people have capes in there. What do you guys think?
