ZOS, Vampires need an update

No, not a nerf or anything. an upgrade.

Werewolves have up to 5 abilities which is nice
however Vampire has only 2 (not really counting the ultimate)
Blood Drain and Mist. Now I think vampire skill line could maybe use a few more abilities since there is the Vampire Lord set which increases vampire abilities spell damage

I don't have any ideas for any other vampire abilities that could be added but I would like to hear if anyone has anything in mind of a new vampire ability.

Sure WW has 5 abilities, too bad WW is absolute garbage outside of WW form, while Vamp actually has some benefit even when you have 0 of the 2 on your action bars.

    Vamp is fine.

WW NEEDS to have 5 skills, vampire does not. Vampire supports many different builds while WW is a build of its own and can only be that way.

Vampires need way more than just a few new skills. I've written up an entire post on a vamp upgrade about a year ago.

I think the design idea is that while both options have weaknesses, a large part of the strength in being a vampire is in your "always on" passives. Comparing the two baseed on one aspect (number of active abilities) gives an incomplete picture.

I would like for them to have actual fangs and what not and not look like they're drunk or drug addicts in the eyes.

Other then that i don't really use vampire skills, I like the Regen and stealth but not so much the skills, I just wished vampires didn't look so physically awful looking in-game.

Plus when a character has even war-paint on, not tattoo's, they are almost invisible to the eyes. If it was tattoos or body markings, then yeah I would hope they would be lighter due to a vamps skin but war-paint? No it shouldn't get lighter.

The 5(5) on 2(3) argument fails.

Wolves have ONLY those five abilities and light/heavy to use when wolfen.
Vamps have basically three additional abilitiers they can work into their normal build.

So when it comes to fighting, its ww have 5+L/h and vamps have 12-17 (+l/h) abilities at their fingertips.

thats a big diff but it doesn't scream for more vamp stuff.

That said, i run five vamps and they seem fine to me.

more stuff, more content, sure... but not more power.

I would like to see their first passive changed. Let it inc healing from the drain ability by 5-10%

I actually play a vampire on all my magicka chars, I think they really increase your strength through passives and the ultimate + 2 abilities are fine (at least when elusive mist works like before the 1T patch again, this is a bug probably). Vampire needs no additional skills as it would make vampire too powerful, especially compared to a werewolf I think. Leave them as they are, they are balanced quite well in my opinion.

Actually I agree there is a lot more thing that could be done for the Vampire.

First change the ultimate, if this is Elder Scrolls cannon, Vampire should be able to transform into Vampire Lords, just like Skyrim - Dawnguard.

And as an ability for instance Vampire's Servant (also included in Dawnguard)

They also had Vampire sight, obviously that is not needed in this game, so something similar would suffice.

Edit: Actually Sight could work, since they are masters of shadows they should be able to see ppl in stealth,

NOW, since this would make them OP overall, maybe some kind of Nerf when its daylight? (I rememebr they took damage in daytime if you are under the sun light)

This is one of my biggest esthetic complaints. They also have problems with Khajiit fur and Argonian scales. I hate the way a Dark Green argonian becomes chalk white - it doesn't make sense. Khajiit beards and hair remain as dark as ever and the color mix looks very strange given their fur's pallor. I also agree I'd rather see fangs than eczema around the eyes, and I have no problem with the veiny appearance.

As an aside, I sill think there needs to be a mutually exclusive World skill line for monster hunters that runs counter to the power of being a monster. I hate the feeling that strength is lost by NOT being a monster. This wouldn't bother me in a solo play game, but this is a competitive MMO for goodness sake.

You do understand a vampire can use any ability. A WW can only use WW abilities while in form. Oh, and the WW ultimate cannot be counted.

Would be silly if a WW only had 2 abilities on their bar, 3 empty slots.

I currently have zero vampire abilities on my bar. I love my vampire the way she is, using just the passives (which I always have access to using). I don't PvP, just PvE, so I don't have a PvP perspective.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter to me whether or not more skills are added, I would try them but I probably wouldn't use them regularly.

Unless one allowed me to give stamina to people in my group. That one would have a really high chance of finding a permanent home on my bar.

    Vampires need more active abilities.

A teleport to give distance that's far superior to the sorc lighting one. Taking the form of bats.

Essence drain has a chance to spawn a blood thrall

    Vampire lord form finally.

    Vampiric grip.

    A claw attack.

And morphs for reducing the 7 day turn time....

...but they have to use their ultimate to turn into WW form to actually -use- any of those, which is not so nice.

Vampires have two abilities and their ulti, and can use them whenever. So, they truly are fine compared with werewolves...

Now, they could ose some more vampy stuff for flavor, certainly.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I'd love to see several things, both added abilities, and added drawbacks...

Mesmerize - an ability that allows you to feed from civilian NPCs without them calling the immortal city guards! (but any witnesses still would count so better do it where noone else sees you putting the bite on 'em... or whatever ESO vampires do instead... putting the, uh, suck on them? Sounds sonewhat... dirty...) Possibly even be usable as fragile crowd control also, stun people by giving them the ole evil eye, or in this case, vampire gaze. Hey, it worked for count dracula...
...and while talking about vampire feeding - make it hurt! Or more precisely, make it actually do some damage to the NPC you are feeding on, the blood loss oughta count for something, right? Say, have them at 50% HP and stunned after feeding, not really OP compared to the insta-kill Blade of Woe our assassin characters use all the time...
...and since we mentioned it - Blade of Woe; add an feature for dark brotherhood vampires to combine both effects into a "Bite of Woe" that has a "sneak up and savagely bite their throats" cutscene, and both vampire-feeds and contract-kills in one go. That way those assasssin vamps will no longer fumble their sneak attacks if the target moves at just the wrong moment and messes with the BoW/Bite distinction range...

Shadow Dash - bloodfiends have that "teleport to victim" ability, and its somewhat vexing that full grown PC vampires do not. Something to be remedied.

Running Water - a classic clichee, how vampires avoid any running water, and one I'd love to see included in some sort of game mechanic. Say... a "half swim speed" disadvantage for all vamps would nicely explain that one...

Masquerade - we know Verandis Ravenwatch can seem as mortal, a skill that allows player vampires to do the same would be a good idea... say, lower appereance by one stage, meaning as long as you remain well fed at stage 1, you can look mortal in every way...
... and then, have the city guard and various NPCs react to vampire "monsters" hiding in the crowd. Meaning, an "detection chance" depending on vampirism stage - 25% at stage 1, 50% at stage 2, 75% at stage 3, and 100% at stage 4... and if found out, guards will attack on sight, vendors will refuse to deal with you and call for the guard instead, etc. This one definitely needs to come as package deal with the "disguise" option, to make vamps need to -use- the disguise... hey, if you recall all the mortals reactions to vampires during the various questlines... rivenspire, grahtwood, eastmarch, coldharbour... they are more like "kill the abomination in arkays name!" then anything else...

Sunlight - while the powers that be at ZOS decided that vampires in ESO would not burn in the sun like in hammer horror films (or prior TES games), I personally dislike them foregoing the whole "creature of the night" thing that way... and would suggest an alternative from the works of bram stoker... like... vampire powers operating at greatly reduced strength during the daylight, but gaining a buff during game-nighttime (actually I would prefer they not work at all in the day, but I can see how that might be too limiting to a game world where daytime is twice as long as nighttime)

Wooden Stakes - taking extra damage from bow attacks would be a fun way to bring this clichee into ESO vampirism... but eh, everyone dies if you stake them through the heart, so... maybe not really needful.

Bloodthirst - Vampires who go too hungry are said to be in danger of loosing control in many stories, I for one would like to see that in ESO as well, in the form of unwanted random attacks on nearby NPCs if a vampire character stays at stage 4 too long without doing something about that thirst...
...of course, that would also require more ways to better control the feeding - like being able to bottle blood in alchemically prepared flasks to keep it fresh for "later"... either purchasable from a vampire only vendor, or craftable in some way... and the aforementioned "charm to feed" option... and maybe even an option to feed from willing player characters...

And while we're talking "Vampire Vendor", it -woulkd- be neat if there was one "Vampire sanctuary" per alliance, wher vampire PCs can gather withjout having to worry about masquerading as mortals, perhaps find a crafting station for vampy themed set items, and/or vendors for special vampy themed gear... the place you do your vampy initiation quest could easily be refurbished for that purpose...
