Anyone know how to JOIN the MAGES Guild now ?

There used to be a note posted on a tree in Vulkhel Guard, but it's not there anymore!

I know it's supposed to start with "Curinure's Invitation quest", but Curinure doesn't have the option to say "join the guild". You are supposed to find a note first, correct??

No...just head to a mages guild and register with a Magister

Go the Mages Guild and talk to the NPCs there. That's the way I always did it.

You need to talk to a Magister first, who will then lead you to the next person.

Curinure wont invite you to Join the guild. He just talks then you say goodbye.

Daniel Telano will "Certify" you to roast a pig. Is that entry into the Guild ??

No, there is someone else to talk to in the Mages Guild area. It's not the consumable writs certification guy.

I went across to the Fighters guild and talked to Aeicessar. It said I found a handbill and he invited me to join the Fighters guild!!

I don't want to join the fighters guild, I am a MAGE. . .

Daniel Telano will certify for provisioning. That's making food. WTF does that have to do with being a mage? Is this a first quest in the mages guild? I'm so confused..

All the quest posts online say to find a "handbill" on a tree outside.. I've been looking for hours and hours and see no handbill.

You can and should join both the fighters and mages guild, in order to unlock their skill lines and quests. It does not matter if you are a mage or not

You can join the mages guild by talking to an NPC inside, they should have a quest arrow above their head. His name is Curinure, I believe, though I could be wrong

That's the HandBill on the wall I was talking about.. It's not there!

It's supposed to start the "Invitation to Curinure's " quest.

Without this Handbill I can't start the quest.... (right?)

With One Tamriel you have to join the guild in your home alliance, Valaste and Sees All Colors won't appear in the other alliance guilds. It's nothing to do with the handbill.

You will never have a good toon without having both fighters guild and mages guild leveled there are too many buff in each to not use them. Go to the first main cities and go into the mages guild and fighters guild and unlock those skill lines. Level them.

I don't think there's anything of value anymore for Magicka users in the Fighter's Guild.
OK, I forgot about Dawnbreaker which is still semi-useful I guess.

You need to join both guilds because the Intimidate and Persuade skills will save you a ton of gold in quests and Intimidate is a fighter's guild skill and persuade is a mage's guild skill.

The way I've always done it is talk to the person in the mages guild in your factions starting town (Vulkhel Guard, Davons Watch or Daggerfall). You click through some blah, blah, blah (top dialogue choices) until you get the option to join the guild...same goes for fighters guild and undaunted in the tavern.

Honestly the OP may have identified a need for clarity in One Tamriel.

I assumed you could go to any town but if it's limited to specific areas, throw the player a quest indicator and a quest log or something to help guide them early on.

I went back to the Mages guild, and they didn't have any option, DIDNT ask if I wanted to join.

Did you possibly already join on that character? Check your skills. If you have the Mage's Guild skill tree unlocked then you might have already joined it. Also, check your quests. See if you have any Guild Quests, such as for the Mage's Guild. That will indicate that you did indeed already join on that character.

Open up your skills (default K) under Guilds category what does it say? You might have gone through the conversation and not realized it. All you have to do is talk to them to become a member, you don't get sent anywhere to do anything to be a member.

If you are in Vukhel Guard (and you were meant to start there -- as in you aren't actually a Covenant player but then ported to Dominion lands in order to quest with a friend) you can just ask them in each guild house to join. In each guild house there are 2 quests from two different npcs. One is for crafting certification, the other is to join the guild.

The "Roast Pig" line will introduce you into Provisioning and lead to Crafting Certification in that line. It opens up the daily Crafting Writ Board quests.

Obviously Shalidor despises you. He put the word out there to ignore your inquiries. Let that uptight mage have his way... Have you tried Shad Astula? They are more exclusive & know how to handle invitations properly. Shad Astula features gourmet cheeses from around the Pact.

The mage's guild will ultimately force you to choose moral high ground or a skill point. The mages guild will drive you mad searching for books for the next few months or more. I say just read one Elder Scroll and get it over with all at once.

You should be able to join by directly talking to Curinure (or, in any other Mages Guild hall, anyone who is a Magister). The Handbill you are referring to no longer exists - you have to talk to the Magisters directly.

As others have said though, it would be worth checking your skills, as it's possible you already joined and didn't notice (I did that once).

I joined by speaking with the lovely lady near the entrance to the mages guild hall inside. Joined,got the skill tree. But no further quests have opened up.
