Vet City of Ash 2 harder???

I did city of ash 2 on vet today since it was the daily and it was very hard. I ran it twice and it seems harder than it's ever been. The other people in the group agreed that it seemed harder. Did they increase the difficulty?

My group yesterday definitely noticed this as well. Things were much tougher with the higher health pools. Some adds now have as much health as the bosses used to.

Not that I am complaining, yesterday's dungeon runs were actually fun and challenging. Even the normals were actually fun, Selene has like 7 million total health now between her two phases.

The changes just don't seem to jive with the patch notes. There's nothing in the patch notes (from my reading, if its in there someone posting the details would be awesome) that suggests these changes. Fun for my group of end game players means that I am sure there are going to be a ton of complaints about difficulty and demands for nerfs.

Yeah im 561 and was healing, had 2 more 561 players (tank and dps) and 1 300 dps with us.

Got to the second boss, the guy who spawns adds from himself, and we didn't have enough dps to take him down.

We got him to 50% but somehow dps lost their rythym and couldn't take the adds down fast enough, so he healed all the way back to 90%. This was a pug so two others parted ways. Couldn't find a group after.

Going to try with guildies later.

Ok. I couldn't tell if it was the group or not but it was crazy. Got it done twice though.

I believe some health was added, and trash mobs have increased armor. Can think of my source atm tho...

They increased boss hp. So depending on your dps you might now see mechanics that you could skip before the patch. But it's still possible to burst down all bosses without killing the adds they spawn.

Of the old vet dungeons...

• The DLC dungeons (WGT/ICP/RoM/CoS) were unchanged in the One Tamriel update.
• The non-DLC dungeons (the storyline-2 dungeons) were all substantially buffed. For example, the Fire Maw's health in vCoA2 was increased from 1.1mln to over 2.4mln, to discourage the stack-and-burn strategy (though this approach is still viable--just messier than before). Skoria's health has more than doubled as well. I was in a run today where our DPS would've been enough for a 1-platform burn pre-update, but instead we killed him as he was transitioning off of the 2nd platform, and in a run that I had tanked earlier, a group that would've downed Skoria in 2 platforms had to finish him off with me kiting him along the bridges after all the platforms broke.
  • This isn't limited to just CoA2; for example, the non-boss enemies in Spindle2 have approximately 2x the health as what they had pre-OT, and Blood Spawn has a lot more health than before as well (people on console using Blood Spawn times to test their DPS will need to recalibrate).
• The normal versions are closer to what the original difficulty was. I tried soloing nCoA2 earlier, and noticed that things were more difficult than the old vCoA. A part of that was the damage bug from last week, but the recalibrated health levels also played a role--the health of the Fire Maw in nCoA2 (1.4mln) was higher than that of the Fire Maw in the pre-OT vCoA (1.1mln). The Ash Titan also has higher health in normal than what it used to have in vet. On the other hand, Skoria's health in normal is much less than what it used to be.

There's been a general rebalancing of the storyline-2 dungeons in OT that has not been documented in the patch notes. (An oversight? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Finn) In general, though, I think the changes are fine, even though they are an unpleasant surprise for the people who PUG vet dungeons. There is now a normal version of these storyline-2 dungeons that's slightly easier than their original vet counterparts (despite the higher health on some bosses), and that's intended for people who are there for the story, skill point, or a quick pledge. The vet versions are noticeably tougher, and vCoA2 in particular feels it's shrugged off a lot of the power creep that had consumed it.

@code65536 , DLC dungeons also got buffed. The HP of everything went up, as well as resistance. Even the damage is increased substantially. This caused the second last ICP boss fight to have a total of 21k HP. They decreased that boss HP to slightly above its previous value, but all other boss fights still have the higher HP, resistance, damage.

The Warden's Council was a bug and was fixed in the 2.6.5 incremental. The increased incoming damage only affected normal mode (not vet mode) and was fixed in the 2.6.6 incremental.

And according to @ZOS_Finn, resistances in dungeons/trials/arenas remain unchanged in One Tamriel. That they increased the resistances is a common myth stemming from a misreading of the patch notes.

Although I don't have before-and-after screenshots to prove it (unlike the case of CoA2), I've done the DLC dungeons enough times before and after to be virtually certain that nothing had changed. The DLC dungeons actually feel slightly easier now, thanks to the power creep from new sets and CP.

Just ran it today... yes much harder. Even mini bosses are harder. I have a literally maxed DK I am not sure how less geared people can do it. ZOS logic for my sturdy helm.

Bosses in Vet City of Ash 2 got a health buff.

It's actually nice. I got to see mechanics again. My PUG group managed to still burn through the Fire Maw's mechanics though

Noticed that yesterday as well, mobs have slightly more health, bosses significantly more.
Still, if you have an average 20k dps group you might not be able to do the HM, but you can kill Skoria comfortably on the five platforms. With the changes to pledges this is ok for me. Still a fun dungeon.
