Why would you change NORMAL dungeons?

I second this. I remember my first run through normal Spindleclutch. I just got the game, and was playing with some long time PSN friends. It was really tough for us being new to the game. Lots of complaining took place, but in the end we succeeded. I really like challenging games. I play every game on its highest difficulty possible. However, my friends don't share that feeling.

All 3 of them no longer play ESO, and stopped playing shortly after this. We were not under-leveled, we were inexperienced, and the game was not forgiving to newer players even then. Hearing that things are going to be even tougher for new players with 1T makes me wonder how many other, more casual newcomers, will drop the game like my friends did due to brick walls in their progression.

I hope this gets adjusted sooner rather than later.

This weekend I queued for a normal random (as a cp cap tank) and got placed in Fungal II with 3 level 20-ish players. We eventually quit al the boss that summons 4 adds that chain a player, because even if the lowbies were doing their best and trying to follow mechanics, their dps was not enough to unchain me: then I'd die and the whole group wiped. Naturally the boss' health was decreasing very slowly so there were a lot of cycles of chaining.

I felt really sorry for them, if this was anyone's first dungeon run it must have been a terrible experience.

l2p. if people want to do group content they should have not-*** builds. that means item sets and a skill bar that makes any sense. the scaling is super freaking generous too for low-level characters.

New players barely have time to learn all this stuff and their skills are pretty lame when they start, like NO AOE in most toons until way up there in levels. Clearly you don't know jack about playing as a new player or you would have considered those factors like minimal passives, limited skills and skills that don't do much damage, no aoe, etc. All of which are fair to consider. You speak about builds from the stance of someone who is high cp. I am speaking of my lower level guildies who are having very difficult times in normal dungeons when they used to have a challenge.

you get steel tornado before you even hit level10. a templar can heal at lvl1. mag classes have elemental blockade. temp also has a aoe at or before lvl10 if you dont choose dark flare, dks also have breath and talons for aoe. Endless hail also exists....Dungeons are set so that you need a tank, healer and 2 dps, not solo it without a brain like it was before. By now, there are tons of videos out, but if the player chooses not to look at them in order to make their "own" builds, then that is on them.

Would be interesting to hear from some regular veteran dungeon players if they are too effected. Im not playing veterans but went there to test the damage and felt they were somehow easier than i expected (soloed fungal grotto I for that bis mask)

I have run more vet dungeons than I can count and today I was throttled more in normal than I had been in ANY vet in a while. I mean, I kid you not. I got a 28k hit from a freaking mob in Ruins of Mazz. My team and I were wiping in spindle II due to massive damage being taken from crappy mobs and it was taking forever to kill them. We usually roll through the easier vet dungeons. We have not done the vet ones because we are horrified at what might have changed there. My friend was having to do full armor repairs at about 1-2k after a NORMAL. This only happened to us when we were low level toons. Something here is very off.

That 28k hit from a mob in ruins is a 1 shot mechanic if ur not a tank. There are indicators saying to "block" or "dodge" a attack. Do you have them on? Ik exactly what mob you are talking about. The ones that go berserk and turn all red doing a charge skill. Block its attack and it wont kill you.

Maybe a bit less knee jerk, a bit more investigation.

I'm lvl33 and i tanked Elden Hollow II succesfully, we finished it in about 2.30hs with a group of lvl30-40ish.
Maybe people need to learn how to play before trying Dungeon II.
And there needs to be some understanding on the difference, as in force people to revise the diference with a tutorial of some sort, ingame tips at least.

    Not this!!!

    Hey Folks,

A bit of a mea culpa here. We did erroneously adjusted the damage of normal dungeons higher than intended and will be bringing them back in line with the next incremental. They should be adjusted back to the health and power levels from OneTamriel Launch.

Thanks for all the feedback and we apologize for the unexpected spike in difficulty.

@ZOS_Finn Please tell me you are talking about Dungeons I.. because i LOVE Dungeons II just the way they are right now!!
Am lvl33 no CP, and i'm cool with it, and i know others around my lvl are too!
I just think there's a lot of confusion around and most dont understand the diference between I and II

I think you are a bit confused how the system works. All dungeons now have a normal and veteran mode. Version i and version II just differentiates between what used to be normal and veteran dungeons. So they are just part one and two of the quest line now. The problem was that trash mobs in the normal versions were too tough. In some cases they were tougher than the bosses and tougher than the trash in the veteran version of the same dungeon.

And if you love the version II dungeons (which are just the old vet dungeons), you should try the others in vet mode. In vet mode many of them are even harder than the old vet dungeons.
