In player housing, no home system for couples?

Hello,

Does anyone know if houses will all be individual? No houses for couples that play the game together?

Me and my gf play the game together since the very first day, we are even married by Mara's ritual, and so would really like to have our own house(s), not several individually.

Or will the system allow two players living in the same house some way?

Any insight about this? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert

Thanks in advance.

Yes just give your GF the status of Friend Access (within the Housing UI not the normal Friend List)............and don't forget to buy the Kingsize double bed.

I would have liked this also for me and my partner but to be honest I'm just thankful they will allow us to invite people into our houses. Could have been completely solo and that would have been awful. At least with this way we can technically own a house together :)

Yeap, I read about the friends access, but that's a "visit-my-house" feature.

I directly mean a house for two persons, for couples, were BOTH are able to live, add furniture, decorate, store stuff, etc.

    Thanks.

Man, you can finally live alone in your mancave ingame while being married IRL and you want your wife to come over?

My wife will be the first person on my houses ban-list.

I don't know if that's called "Friend" or something else but there is definitely a level of Access that allows other players the same privilege as the owner.
I remember Firor describing the mechanics in one interview, though I can't remember the right terminology.
It will work roughly like Guild Banks Access levels, so you will probably have the Visitor level the Friend level and maybe something else, the labeling is not set in stones yet, but the mechanics should be the one I just described.

PS: Of course if some ZOS staff mind to chip in the conversation that would be nice to have more clear information about the subject.

Honestly, I ONLY heard/read that friends can visit your home, but no other levels or system with different privileges.

So I hope there are different access levels to select (like husband/wife access level) and so couples can naturally use one of them. :)

And yeap, it would be great to have someone from ZOS share some light on the matter.

    Thanks again.

LOL! And yes. World is about family you know, and if I'm going to battle monsters and be wounded every day I then want to come back home to my wife, not to loneliness. Although I can do a stop on a tavern for some healing skooma first. :D

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert Can I get this thread answered please?

Is there any option for couples? Or one needs to buy the house and the other will be a "friend" visiting it? No system so both, husband and wife, can have the same exact privileges in the house?

You gave us a way to get married in the game (Mara ritual), please don't tell me you completely forgot about couples on the player housing system when is something very common that couples live together.

Friend, guild and rest of options are not the same, for dozens of reasons.

    Thank you.

Looks as though you can set permissions for anyone you choose to use the homes on your account and decorate them too if you so wish - that sounds like co-habitation, and with 2 accounts between you, you will as a couple have access to potentially twice as many homes :)

That doesn't sound like anything to complain about!

Bear in mind that these are instanced account unlocks. The best you're going to get is some level of 'invitation' system with permissions in order to facilitate the 'couple'.

Speaking from a security standpoint, that's also the best option. This way no one can hijack the house, steal decos, etc... Having full access for couples is only going to create a headache for ZOS to clean up later when things go sour.

There will be ways to visit freely, and also to set up decorator access, but I think at the moment only one person can own the house, and they have to be the one to add and remove items.

They also don't want to live with your tacky furniture and clutter.

It's not going to be so much different from IRL in terms of when you're in a couple, it's almost always the case that you don't have exact equal salaries - just manage it like you would IRL as a couple, and accept that you share it even if one of you earns more so pays more of the rent/mortgage (or in this case the house is on their account). Trust me, it's good practice for life.

Look at it this way. If they allowed you joint ownership when married then they'd have to code a system for selling the house when you divorced. This way, one of you buys the house and gives full access rights including decorating to the other, but can simply withdraw those rights when you split up. Simples!

Why some of you mention "give full access..." if the most similar thing I read in ZOS article was:

"You can grant trusted friends permission to decorate existing placed items in your home (they cannot add or remove items from your home)".

I didn't real any "full access" anywhere and the above friends permission IS NOT enough for a couple. That is a small feature to move items from here to there.

    ZOS, any responses please?

    Thanks agaiin.

I don't understand why you can't make decisions jointly about your in-game home, regardless of who actually has permissions within the limits determined by ZOS.

My husband does not have IRL permission from me to get a life-sized statue of Batman and put it in the middle of the sitting room. I do not have permission from him to keep a miniature horse in the kitchen. I put down a hefty deposit, he pays the mortgage.

If either of you ends up screaming "but it's my house" in game then it does not bode well. Just sort it out amongst yourselves!

    Think about the possibilities!

He can have 40 houses, she can have 40 houses!

Then you can tell each other 80 times what you did wrong in each room! Or maybe he get's lucky (no pun intended) once :D

I don't get your point. What if IRL the only thing you could do in your house was moving furniture from here to there? Would you be OK with that?

I mean, why I will be able to manage EVERYTHING editable in the house (meaning full access to all features) while she won't? Why she has to be my "friend" if she is my wife?
