BiS Gear Sets for 1T [Community Project]

With all the new gear sets available in One Tamriel, many players new and old are trying to figure out which sets will be most beneficial for them. There are some notable build creators such as @Alcast and @Deltia who post in-depth build videos on Youtube that are definitely worth looking into, but what I would like to do in this thread is simply compile community opinions about what gear is generally considered to be BiS (Best in Slot) for all standard classes and play styles. Differences of opinion are welcome! People can use the "agree" button to upvote gear sets that are mentioned. You can also mention sets that you don't consider BiS but are still very good and worth having for certain circumstances. Although other factors like skill choices, traits, and enchantments are important features to a build, I would like to keep this thread strictly focused on the gear sets themselves. My hope is to help people feel more confident about what sets they choose to keep and what they choose to decon. Even if you don't have a DK tank yet, maybe you will want to make one later. Why not know what gear would be good for that now and avoid deconing something you'd wish you still had?

You can submit a single gear set (like Ilambris or Twice-Born Star) or a full gear setup. Please indicate which category you are submitting for. I will update the OP to reflect feedback received. Also, if you are pulling your info from someone else's build, please do give them credit when mentioning it! You can also provide the link to a build page or video if there is one. For myself, I main a PVE Mag Sorc and am totally on the "Mystic" bandwagon from @Alcast. My knowledge of most of the other classes and specs is not large, which is one of the main reasons I'd like this to be a community project. So let me hear from you!

EDIT: Added a Maelstrom category. This gear set will be considered BiS for Solo play, while the DPS, Tank, and Heal categories envision participation in Trials groups. 4-player content could potentially be completed with either type of set.

GENERAL THOUGHTS
PVE TRAITS - Divines is best for all DPS and Heals, Tanks benefit from a mix of Reinforced, Sturdy, and Infused.
PVP TRAITS - Impenetrable is most important if you don't always have shields up. Otherwise, use PVE traits.
STAM BUILDS - Velidreth performs better in AOE and mobile play, Kragh performs better in stationary single target play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4BfDAO5di0
CRIT SETS VS TBS - @Asayre disputes @Alcast in the use of Mother's Sorrow (and by implication Leviathan). You must have at least 66 points in Elfborn to make Mother's Sorrow out-perform TBS, and the cost of so many CP points plus the loss of additional Health and Stamina make TBS seem more optimal.

Stam dk seems to work well with red mountain.

Like I'm feeling the BIS stam dk pve would be:
5 red mountain, 3 vicious ophidian, 2 x valedreth and 2 maelstorm

OP Updated. Thanks @Deltia and @Barlthump. I am assuming that both of you were providing PVE DPS gear choices. Let me know if that is incorrect.

For those submitting gear sets, listing them in the following way would be most helpful to me:
[Class] [Stam/Mag] [PVE/PVP] [DPS/Tank/Heal]
[Monster Set (if applicable)] [Body] [Jewelry] [Weapons]

An example:
Dragonknight (Stam) PVE DPS

Best in slot for tanks does not exist. Good tanks have different sets for different fights. Tanks that wear the same gear in every instance/fight have no clue what they are doing.

You'd have to add lots of sets there.

For dps PvE MagBlade is now the worst dps because this class has just old sets like TBS or Scathing mage to be powerful. However, MagBlade is very nice for casting and healing others, maglars and magdk need to go melee, magsorc' has less useful skills.

@Woeler I'm fairly new to tanking and I'm currently running 5 tava 5 akaviri dragonguard and whatever monster set but mostly bloodspawn on my sorc. I definitely feel there are fights where my set up is poor like when I need to kite or don't get hit often enough to sustain resources. What's a good alternate setup?

Haven't personally tested Burning Spell Weave, but you're better off replacing the main bar staff by an Infallible Aether one with a Weapon damage / Spell power enchant, especially considering how little mDKs remain on their back bar. It's basically either a constant 60 or so spell damage, versus a 350~ ish buff, which, while unreliable, needs very minor uptime to prove better.

And not only for Tanks, healers swap around their gear accordingly to trial group composition, and DDs also have setups that outperform others in a single target scenario, while others perform better with in an AoE situation (e.g Grothdarr vs Kena, or Velidreth vs Kra'gh).

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that there may be a variety of very good sets for tanks and healers. As I stated in the OP, I am happy for people to suggest sets that are good situationally as well. Certainly there are some tanking or healing sets in the game that are less optimal than others. My goal here is just to help the community have a better idea which sets generally perform really well. If you have 10 tank or healer sets you'd like to mention as all being equally good in particular circumstances, post them and list those circumstances.

I'll update the Stam DK build to Alcast's Venom set, since yeah. I didn't notice the staff choice for a stam char.

Tanking has came a long way since the beginning of this game. There was a time when you just kept the aggro of boss and kept him facing away from the group to now where you support and buff the whole group DPS and other things. Also it has to be considered the instance you are tanking because in some trials now you need two tanks.
So the gear choice is also different depending if you are main or off tank.
I take it @woeler has a very informative video about the on tube. You might wanna search it.
For the sake of this thread, there are a couple of standard setups -

1. 5x Tava + 5 Ebon + 2 BS- it's a good mix of craft able and farmed sets and provides good support to group with extra health and more WH uptime. You can run this setup in pretty much every instance of this game.
2. 5x Lunar Bastion + 5 Alkosh + 2 BS/ Lord warden- it's a fairly good support set for off tanks as they can concentrate more on taking synergies and keeping the Both buff uptime as much as they can while guarding the main tank as well off tanking the adds.
3. 5x Classic Hist Bark + 5x Tava+ 2 BS- a very decent setup for starter tanks with most gear craft able.

Regarding resource sustain, I can not comment as yours is a sorc tank and I've no clue about it but on DK tanks it's all about knowing the different fights and a mix use of skills/ Pots and Ultimates is the basic resources management.

There a a few more set options which can be played around with-
1. Plague Doctor- Look at that health bonus.
2. Mephala Hand- interesting effects.
3. Akaviri Dragon gaurd- not bad for more WH uptime.

You know? I actually got kicked out of one of my guilds for this. Some newer player was asking about "talons" and I told him that, depending on how he wants to tank, Burning Talons is fun to slot if you're a mDK tank. Suddenly, the guild chat "elites" went batsh*t on me because it wasn't what they used.

I then said that when I tank, I like to use 5 Leeching, 5 Bahraha, 2 Valkyn on my Argonian DK. It works well with everything except vet Trials.

The Argonian gets 5% healing received/given, Leeching adds 8% extra healing, Leeching & Bahraha adds to group dps and self heals, AND Valkyn/Leeching's flame/poison AOE synergizes well with a DK's "World in Ruin" passive.

Next thing I know, I've got the GM whispering me- telling me to never give advice to newer people... and that I'm holding my group back when I tank like that. It's not "real tanking". WHAT?!?!

Anyway, I told the GM that he was "ate up" and that the "meta" build for tanks (BS, Tava, non-stop warhorn) is great for vet Trials- but for the other 99% of the game, you can enjoy yourself with different builds while tanking. Poof! I was kicked.

Solo = Spriggan
Group = NMG

NMG supports and works for the whole group given that you have other stamboys in your group ofcourse.

This category will serve as recommended gear for completing Vet Maelstrom Arena, and consequently BiS for any other Solo content in the game. The other categories are specified more for group play, such as Trials.

I appreciate this thread, I'm sure others do as well. It's great to see some of the names here as well. Like a meeting of the minds! Bookmarked this page to follow as it builds.

Sadly, I'm running the wrong class for U12 (on xbox) and I've yet to read any info on MagNB. Seems were stuck and not really moving forward like other classes in the new patch.

I don't need or want anything from the new patch which is AWESOME. NOTE: If you have elegant staff sharpen you can also gain the 900 Magicka extra when switching to staff for a bit more OMMPH to your damage.
Obviously to completely disregard the new sets without proper testing is (silly) but I see no grant magicka sets coming not 1.

Most add significant damage to one thing or another... damage to destro skills, damage to shock only...
Quite frankly they need to nerf 20% additional damage on light hits for elegant to make me think about anythingggg else.

Because 4.5k SP is less damage then elegant on 2.4k SP... weird...

Can you please show me the calculations?

Because I got more dps with Mothers Sorrow on a Magicka Templar than with TBS. My bud and me might have found some other cool stuff tho that could outdps both TBS and MothersS

Doesn't German use what all sorcs use? Seducer+Engine Guardian+Willpower+Maelstrom Staves?

Fun build but not BiS by any means, good for PVE/PVP.

Now with 1T out I want 5x Strenth of the Automaton and 5x Hundings or Spriggan's Thorns. This should be fun for PVE/PVP.
