ESO PC/Mac Launcher Issues – Update 12

    Just want to put a word in for the Server Status indicator on the Launcher. This is really helpful on update days. I don't want to have to keep logging in or checking the forum to see if the servers are up. It is really convenient to just look over to the launcher to see what status they are.

    I don't find again your post about such an issue, but I think it was for NA users, and you told to check something in launchersettings, and to rename the folder 'the elders crolls online EU' in 'the elder scroll online'

    I think my issue is the contrary as I'm on the EU server. First I don't have 'launchersettings' file in the launcher folder, and then my game folder is named 'the elder scrolls online ' after the update 12.
    And now the launcher is creating me a new folder 'the elders scolls online EU' besides the other.
    I tried to stop the launcher, and to rename my game folder in 'EU' but it didn't work.
    I got an error message 'can't determine the game version'.

    So currently I let the launcher reload the entire game, but I don't know yet if I will be able to play after thet. Moreover, supposing it will work, do I have to delete the older 'elder scorlls online' folder and keep only the new EU version ?

    My stuck launcher issue was resolved by using the following steps provided by the support team:

    Step 1: Delete the ESO Launcher Folder
    PC: Go to the Launcher folder. You can find this by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher. Delete the Launcher folder.
    Mac: Open Finder, go to Applications, and then look for the Zenimax Online folder. The Launcher folder will be under the main ZOS folder. Delete Launcher folder.

    Step 2: Download new ESO Launcher
    Once you have deleted the folder, download the ESO Launcher from your account management page to reinstall it. You can do this by logging in to your account on our website and clicking the Download Game button on the page for your appropriate platform.
    If this allows you to access Launcher options:

    Step 3: Repair the ESO Launcher
    Open The Elder Scrolls OnlineLauncher by right-clicking on the icon on the desktop and selecting Run as Administrator.
    Wait for the launcher to open completely.
    If multiple ESO clients are installed and available through the Launcher, make sure you have the correct version highlighted by clicking on it once.
    Open the Game Options dropdown menu and click on the option for Repair.
    Allow the launcher to examine all the files for the game. This may take some time.
    If any files are found to have problems, the launcher will re-download those files.

    So I guess the root cause was a faulty launcher.
    In my case, since I used the Steam version, all I have to do was to copy the Launcher folder created by the official installer in the ESO account site after the initial installation finished, and copy it to the Launcher subfolder in the Steam version's respective app folder. This was done between Step 2 and 3. It would save some time if you already have downloaded everything.

    Those of you who have similar issues as me, can try these steps and save those support team the headaches. I'm trying out the game and see if there are weird glitches further ahead.

    So - today, after been playing all morning, I had to log off.

    When I tried to log back in, I was met with an empty character screen.

    I tried switching forth and back on the servers as the posts on the forums suggests - nothing helped. STILL missing characters.

    I even got a message saying that my PC wasn't authorized..WHAT THE....serious?

    Same problem, and there's also some guys in reddit talking about it. ZOS, we need help here, this is a major issue.

    Good job with the hotfix. Before the 'fix' I crashed frequently while playing. Since the 'fix' I crash trying to enter my password.

    But hey, at least I'm not crashing while I'm playing any more, right?

    Server selection on launcher only says “The Elder Scrolls Online (NA)”
    This is a known display error associated with the Update 12 patch that results in the ESO Launcher displaying "The Elder Scrolls Online (NA)" as your only server option. Please note that the launcher no longer indicates which Megaserver you are connecting to, and the option to choose your server is now found within the in-game login screen.

    This display error is still confusing even though the server selection is within the in-game login screen.
    The server selection on launcher should be "The Elder Scrolls Online" without the (NA).
    Also, the server selection within the in-game login screen should be "Live-NA" and "Live-EU", since there is no prime or favorite server and thus "Live" isn't appropriate.
    It makes the NA server as default.
    Please fix it.

    So for today's patch, my ESO launcher has randomly decided to try to redownload the whole game. The fixes on page 1 for this issue are not applicable. I am not on the EU client and the "new" folder did not appear. I have also tried to repair the launcher but all that did was set my "patch" back to 0%. I'm on a wireless connection...this is painfully slow and just plain painful especially considering I had just made the decision to finally try out the game and I'm locked out 2 days later. (Yes this was a new install that this happened to, I installed on Friday or Saturday and today this happens)

    So after what? 4 or 5 hours of it downloading, it finally finishes and I get a glorious crash to desktop. I am now repairing but in all honesty, I don't know if I should be putting up with this. This is hours upon hours of troubleshooting for a game I just installed. This is not acceptable.

    What I meant is that at least the Launcher shows a confusing behavior (showing "NA", always asking for server selection). I know I only have one more shot to "sell" the game to a friend of mine, for whom the whole computer crashed when trying to patch the game, and i definitely want to know that everything as severe as such starting issues is actually fixed. You know, there are people who play the game mainly for relaxation, and they simply won't invest hours into trouble shooting, but play another game.

    ZOS owes me a whole month because of this update i can't play the game at all it keeps crashing each time i click on play. i checked with my graphics driver and it is fine. this sucks that i can't play the game when i want to. You guys owe me 30 days now of gameplay.
