As I started repair there was a message (on mouse over repair I think) that said something about launcher restarting itself as I recall! Maybe you are just experiencing that or maybe your launcher is stuck in a 'loop'.

It would be good if a mod dropped in here to comment.

My launcher is now at 29% and counting - not exactly a short DL.

Edit: addition after submitting instead of previewing!

so my when i go to my map (M) there are no quests listed for the zone im at even though i have multiple quests for that zone
no markers either

if i get close enough i can see markers on my compass but thats it.
before update 12 the markers would show up on my compass regardless of distance now i suddenly have to be quite close for it to show.

ive scoured the entire settings menu without any success btw

I can not even do the quests or the dungeons or anything lol without the skill animation and quets,is unplayable

Uninstalling would defo help.

Or failing that, seemingly its all our rigs and net connections that are to blame for everything, so resetting the router solves all

My launcher was stuck in the loading screen for hours, as attached.

FYI, this is a fresh installation from Steam, done on a fresh Windows installation (with all the updates, redists, graphic drivers and other related stuffs already installed) on a new hard disk. So this is pretty much an installation done from scratch.

We've been working hard to get these issues fixed as quickly as possible, and we'll have some fixes in next Monday's incremental patch.

We'll be fixing the issue where changing realms isn't immediately taking effect, ultimately logging you into the wrong server and making it appear as though your characters have been deleted. We'll also be fixing the issue where your default server selection keeps getting reset to NA upon each log in.

We also have a fix in the works for the launcher displaying "The Elder Scrolls Online (NA)", which is currently being tested.

Thanks for coming in to the thread to update us. No mention of how to fix continually having to DL patch(es) or what to do when the game simply will not allow a player to ..... play - not even able to get to log in screen.

I'll wait for the repair to finish, see which folder game tries to use and hope to be able to play. That's all I can do until Monday.

Thanks for nothing. If that reads as bitter then that's how it reads - should never have had these issues in first place.

Edit(rather than new post): It's ten to ten (fixed that ) here so I'm going to log off the forum. My DL is at 64% and is likely to take at least a few more hours to complete. I'll try to come back to forum over the weekend and let you guys know game status - playable or not.

Thank you GinaBruno for the update regarding the game problems.

( Here is my Recommendation )
Pull out the Dev Team Whip and snap it at all the Dev Team members and tell them to get... "Cracking", fix that game code.

I know they are working hard to get it fixed and ready for Monday's release. We just all have to be patient.

So! The DL finished at around 02:00 - yawn!

First attempt to play - same problem. So I switched of PC.

I switched PC back on to recheck. Got into login.

After a couple restarts of game (via launcher) I got the switch server trick to work and, though it seemed to take ages to actually get there, got to the correct (EU) character select. Selected character and got in game.

I'm really not impressed that what should have been a simple update procedure ended up with what seems to have been a complete re-download of game or with the whole switch server trick. At least I can get in game now though - that's good. Well! It will be over the weekend - it's 03:45 here and my bed is calling.

Entire game (40GB) is being downloaded instead of just the patch (2.3GB)
EU players may find this is happening after the Launcher update is complete. Close the launcher. Navigate to where you have ESO installed on your machine, and open the “Launcher” directory. Open “launcher.settings” in Notepad (or any preferred document editor) and look for the “region”:”EU” entry. Change this to read “region”:”US”, and save the launcher.settings file. The launcher can now be reopened and the patch continued. - DONE

If “region” is already set to “US” in settings, then navigate to where you have ESO installed on your machine. If you see a newly-created folder titled “Elder Scrolls Online”, delete that. Then, rename your original folder titled to just “Elder Scrolls Online.” When you re-open the launcher, you will download the 2.3GB patch rather than the entire game. - WRONG!!!

Old Folder name is “Elder Scrolls Online” - without EU!!
NEW Folder where Launcher trying to install all 39+++ GB is =>“Elder Scrolls Online EU” !!
But you in Your message messed up all of this
Renaming and/or deleting doesn't help! Please do something!

maybe someone has been lucky, maybe someone else is okay to switch NA and again go back to EU to let work the loader

I've tried all suggestions above, one by one, I end-up that my install folder is now totally gone for every change I do, its starts downloading 40gb

by the way I understand all developer efforts seriously but is not acceptable that if you install the game from the scratch it works as expected as EU loader, instead doesn't exist a correctiveness fix that will amend the loader reverting back from AN to EU

I followed this thread the whole page long. I'm on a Mac and I play on the EU server. The experience became quite a bit frustrating now. Each time I have to login I have to do this:

- Clicking SERVER (LIVE-EU)
- Live-EU is checked, I have to check Live and Accept
- Clicking SERVER (LIVE)
- Checking again Live-EU and Accept
- Finally I can type my password and login

Please fix the launcher, doesn't keep my preferences!

My directory was also outside of Applications folder. At first, was telling me I didn't have space enough (was not true, though). Was solved with doing anything after a few hours.
The second trouble was the 39 GB download, and going really slow. I stopped the download and closed the launcher. I did put whole Zenimax Online folder (I think it's better to keep the original name) in the Apps folder, and I copied all the files in the Depot folder by the Time Machine most recent backup. I pasted all in the new folder Zenimax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online/Depot.

Surprise, my download was 1.9 GB! I wish you can have the same. I have an iMac and macOS Sierra installed.

Maybe we should just find something better to do until ZOS can update and fix a host of problems.

For me when I execute the Launcher, It finds my account and displays the list of characters. At this screen I normally choose one and enter the game. Though now my load times have more than doubled. Once I choose a character, the load screen for the area appears and here I sit.
Used to be only 45 seconds to a little over a minute to get into the game. Now its like 3-5 minutes. Sometimes I get in, but more often than not I get an "Error 303 (6.3.1470.2) " code and get kicked all the way out to the password screen.

This is becoming a frustrating nuisance and annoyance to me. I work 7 days a week most of the time and this game is something I have enjoyed sitting down at the end of the day to become immersed in. Though I'm not going to continue spending an hour a day trying to log in when the frustration gets a little overwhelming. Gonna take a break. Maybe they'll get it fixed, hope so.

Hmm I log in many times a day every day this way without any issues. The only thing I can imagine you might be doing differently is that I don't type in my password until after I've done both of the server switches. I don't know why that would make a difference, but hey, just making sure to be exact.

I am in North America and with patch 2.6.4 and the game server game code they made, my game folder is just...

Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online

My characters were created on the North American Server, but last night I logged into the game and chose... EU and it automatically switched to it and I was playing on the EU server. I could also switch back.

The previous patch, if u wanted to play on the EU Game Server, u actually had to download and install the EU files. With the new patch, u don't have too. But being that patch 2.6.4 has so many problems, we all have to wait till an update is released to fix it and and I am thinking that it will be in more then 1 update release.

Monday we should see an incremental update to fix several problems though.

Yesterday I tried resetting the server multiple times, as described here, but always ended up on the NA server without characters. I edited C:\Users\xyz\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\UserSettings.txt and changed the following two lines to say "EU" instead of "NA" and saved it:
SET LastPlatform "Live-EU"
SET LastRealm "EU Megaserver"
I have to edit it every time I log on, because it keeps getting reset. Mess with this file at your own risk, but at least I can reach my chars on the EU server this way. (Setting the UserSettings to read-only did not prevent it from replaying the cutscene and sending me to NA, by the way...)

You played with newly created characters, or your old ones? Does this mean we can have (a different set of, or the same set of) characters on either server in the future...?

PS: OF COURSE the Surilie Syrah tastes WAY better on the EU server, and our girl NPCs are WAY hotter, and our stale bread is WAY staler than yours! I'm sure you will want to stay here!! ;-)

The issue that I am having is not addressed here on the forum. I will give you an example, but this applies to everything except gold. If I have 100 lockpicks in the bank and I want to only take 50 it wont let me. It makes me take ALL of them. Before the update 12 this would work just fine. The same is true of depositing items in the bank. If you have say 2 of anything and want to save 1 in the bank, it wont let you. It automatically puts both from your inventory in the bank.
Definate bug from this update.

Me trying the EU server, u start with new characters. Any characters u create on the North American server are NOT transferable to the EU server.

Everyone, I know how frustrating it is, especially being an ESO Plus Member like I am, but we all have to be patient. Monday they will release an Incremental Update that hopefully should fix the problem(s). After Mondays update, we will see Update 13 which will have several to a lot of fixes.

Just be a little more patient, till Monday. They are hard at work on getting it fixed.

unbelievable.... I started to install the game since this morning at 10:34
now at 23:46 it was almost close, left just to download 6.5gb, suddendly client crashed, launching again started to download 39gb...

is this a joke ?

I do know I’m stuck in all of my solo characters and cannot progress forward and as I used to love the game and now think its boss monster level difficulty outrageous as i got killed by the thane in everfall flagon without being near him when his tools are just a two handed blade a bit over the top.

When you have three monsters or more than coming at you, there is no time to regenerate or anything, you also have no chance and the amount of soul stones I waisted in two days was over the top and lots of the skills are not working in all four of my classes. I dont mind the proportional levelling concept but the bosses must be reduced to realistic levels for progression outcomes and the amount of enemies attacking should also be considered reducible.

The technical difficulties in the graphics are not being looked at and the technical issue with a quest tracker is not working and I feel ignored irrelevant and struggling and not able to progress in anything. I’ve stopped playing today and just thought I’d leave this message to say after the two and a bit years I have loved the game I now will look for other games to enjoy to relax and chill too.

I hope you fix it but I don’t feel anyone is listening and my subscription is pending on the outcome. People are talking on face book how bad the game is playing for single players.

In fact how can anyone enjoy the new aspects when you can’t progress as the more popular single player just a thought.
