Making a new character, what class do you recommend?

Hello everyone, I decided yesterday that I wanted to make a new character in the AD faction for general questing, PvE and PvP content. I already have 3 endgame DC toons (MagDK, MagPlar, StamBlade) and have a level 38 Magicka sorcerer on DC as well. So in your opinion which class should my next character be.

P.S. I didn't add StamDK to the list because I am not a fan of the play style.

Magika Templar is the most diverse class in the game, can be the best healers and at the same time can be one of the best DDs and if you want they can tank too Templar tanks are best with Magika builds and in PvP they are really good too

Because I just love this as a tank. Resource management is great, you don't even need regen. Just use Dark Deal.

It think it's the best class for doing different stuff. You can heal, dps and tank pretty easy. Or even mix heal/dps/tank.

I have every class, both magicka and stamina builds and I find magicka templar definitely the easiest to play at all levels. I began with hybrid DK (has since become full stamina build) but realized that was actually one of the hardest builds to play. Also stamina NB is pretty easy. Both flavors of sorcerer are easy too, once you get the power/critical surge skill. But magicka DK, magicka NB and stamina Templar are pretty hard IMO.

I say you should choose one you don't already have. Playing the exact same type of character again can get a little boring. So I'd recommend going for a magicka nightblade or a stamina sorcerer.

By far the most enjoyable tank to play. Hurricane, Critical Surge and Dark Deal is such an amazing combination. Add in Desert Rose and Redistributor Sets for even more fun

Unless you are playing Crypt of Hearts or Banished Cells for gold key, in which case that hurricane can be detrimental, since it bites a huge chunk of the adds health bar. I even failed the pledge as a DK once for failing to turn off the spiked armor, because the adds died from their own reflected damage, especially Nerien'eth's wraiths; I use immovable brute for the major ward/resolve instead, for the specific pledge. Rilis' daedroths are a bit less squishy, but almost failed this week because of Velidreth procs from one of the DDs - poison balls were hitting the adds because he was facing that way though he was pretty far.

Yeah but I can turn one into a healer, my DC one is a vampire .. I wouldn't mind another because I do enjoy the play style of templar

I've been having a lot of fun leveling up my MagBlade. I tried converting my StamBlade to Mag but it didn't perform so well, so choose the race accordingly

It looks like you already have 3/4 magic classes basically covered, and from a PVE standpoint, you arent missing anything without a Magic NB. From a PVE standpoint, Magic NB is basically a crappier version of Magic Sorc.

I have one of each. I am having tons of fun on my new Stam Sorc recently. Its probably fair to call them the recent FOTM. Great in VMA, great in 4 man stuff, great in PVP. They have high mitigation, great mobility, tons of self heals, and excellent damage (Prob 2nd or 3rd overall for PVE DPS). If you are in a trials group that is heavy on stam builds, sSorcs are the ideal debuff character. Now that we have sunderflame Jewelry (coming tomorrow), you can pair it with a set of night mothers and every sDK in tamriel will want to be your friend. Your Hurricane will ensure everything gets the debuff.

3 Months ago if you asked me my favorite overall class, I would have said DK. I have mained a magic DK in trials for a long time, and stam DK is the best DPS at the moment. But lately, Sorc has taken over. I have more fun on my Stam Sorc than Stam DK, and mSorc is pulling better single target DPS at the moment than mDK (DK is still winning on AOE). I run my mSorc in VMOL and my sSorc pretty much everywhere else.

Edit: your first goal should be to finish off your mSorc. If he is at level 38, you can have him to 50 in an hour.

Edit 2: If you dont like sDK playstyle, you might not like any stam playstyle. Stam Toons across the board are more alike than different, but Sorc stands out in my mind. Hurricane + Crit Surge is a game changer.

When you have 3 endgame characters plus one well on the way then I'd suggest you roll the next character the way you fancy it, after all you must have some grip on the basics of the game by now !

Magicka Templar has the best of all world's tanky with the best heals in game while still putting out crazy dps and it's almost impossible to build a bad templar.

Just got my stamina sorcerer to cp 170(first character and little play time) and needed to try something different than spinning death and purge so trying a magicka nightblade. So far it's great(but I do back stories on my characters so I get invested in them than some do)

I play all classes as magicka DDs, healers and my magicka NB even as tank, add to that another nightblade stamina and I have to say, that magicka sorc is at moment the least enjoyable class to play for me in PvE.

PS: My new stamina NB wearing full legendary TBS + Ophidian is a blast to play - in PvE and PvP...and I don't even have any mahlstrom weapons right now.

My heart says mag sorc, but brain says magplar. Mag sorc can be powerfull but magplar is better in each aspect.
