Magblade vs stamblade

Ardelli
Ardelli
Ive been playing my stamblade catman and its been nice. Ive started to wonder are magblades any good/better? Survivability is my biggest problem atm so would be nice to hear if staying alive with magblade is easier? Im a solo player.

Thanks :)

To be honest I do not think there is a mag blade that could challenge my tank 1v1 but on the other hand I find fighting evasion dodge rolling stamblades a challenge 1v1.

Do you like strawberry milk or chocolate? Right now Stamina is Chocolate Milk if you catch my drift. I run both.

Stamina does more damage in PvE.

Magicka has the best survivability in PvE and is the best at disengaging and escaping in PvP.

For solo PvE, magblades are arguably the strongest.

    .

I'd be interested in where I can find more information about builds, skills, etc. for this point of view.

I came back after a long hiatus and found that a StamSorc was far more versatile than my StamBlade.

So I switched to a MagBlade, using a couple of recent popular builds, and it just seemed underpowered and fragile as hell be comparison.

For pve stuff, check out Machinate's build guides to start. If I'm doing maelstrom, I'll use harness as a panic button and let my swallow soul fill me up on health (I don't run a resto staff). In dungeons and trials, I have healers around, and I just don't stand in red lol.

How do you use Swallow Soul as an effective heal? Does it require placing a significant amount of CP into the healing skill?

magblade can cloak almost infinitely, I love that!

and khajiits have bonus to sneaking, nevermind their crit bonus is only to weapon crit and not also to spell crit, I love the khajiit race, so I run my magblade as a khajiit!

Nope, in pve it ticks high enough that one harness/dampen covers my bar and in those six seconds my health is up. If for some reason I need more healing I'll just pop another harness. For a long time in maelstrom I didn't run harness and just relied on swallow soul and an occasional healing ward, but I found the lag made bar swapping to my heal a bit risky. Also this way I can back bar swords or another destro.

stam and magblade dps is comparable without vma weapons

OK then I must be something terribly wrong because Swallow Soul seemed to be nothing more than a band-aid on a sucking chest wound for me...

Can you point me to a build that's close to what you run?
