Isn't Guild Trader collusion awesome?

Anyone notice that tempering alloy just went up in price at pretty much all traders at exact same time?

In real life, that's a crime.

    System, server and location?

    If you're on console what you're describing is basically impossible on a full scale basis. If you only shop in one location I could see this, but there are plenty of deals to be had in the wilderness.

    You are aware that the guild doesn't control the prices on listings, right?

    If we had a price history tab or global guild trader this wouldn't happen as bad.

    a few guilds went and bought out a bunch of alloys to raise up the prices. if you look around you'll find them cheaper. i got ten of them yesterday for 10k each.

    ps --- in real life we play games to escape real life.

    I did hop around, through all 3 alliances. That's why I noticed that they had gone up everywhere. Now, are there places where that may not be true, yes, but the "average" just rose dramatically due to collusion.

    I suppose we could take the Ostrich approach and just pretend is isn't happening.

    ....or, just going to throw this out there, you could go farm your own.

    I do farm my own.

    So, to be clear, you are FOR this system that allows this?

    You are AGAINST a better system that doesn't allow guilds to form monopolies in the "best" locations.

    It have nothing to do with guild vendors.

    New DLC brings up more players;
    More players brings up more demand;
    More demand inflates prices.

    Guild vendors are great.

    I would agree if the other materials had seen a similar jump. And the fact that my own guild trader sets minimum prices for members, in collusion with other trading guilds. Plus the fact that they literally went from 13k to 18k overnight.

    Of course ESO isn't meant to be a economy utopia. Players can easily try to create cartels and push up the prices. They post something high priced and ask friends to buy in order to increase the value on MM. Is this a bad thing? Of course not! You don't actually needs to buy from those guilds there are like +100 trading guild out there. There's players annoucing their goods on zone etc. I think its a great system because it offers opportunities to be real hard core Donalt Trump'ish capitalist, but also there is margin to go alternative sustaintable side markets to get what you need.

    Btw, the prices of reagents have also increased a lot.

    sigh.
    no one here said they were " for " this or against it. -- but the very idea youre peddling is the only one that could possibly create a monopoly.

    Um, no, actually there are much better systems than this. Even the one they had in the precursor to this game :DAoC.

    For instance, why can't I search ALL trader inventory at once? Why do I need to even have a "spot" for my trader? The limited spots allows "normal" people to be priced out.

    im all for a search feature. but the game is spread out across many lands ---so of course it would have many traders. who plays an mmo and doesnt expect to travel ?

    Here was how it worked in DAoC (after player housing).

    There was a notice board where you could search the zone. If you found an item you wanted, you had to take down the coordinates and physically go to the vendor (usually on porch of house).

    Everyone could get a merchant, everyone could sell easily. People still moved around to search and ran into others doing the same.

    Maybe this is their plan when they implement housing, who knows.

    I tried to leave my reagents at the same price, they sell real fast to the same guys I can find selling on other traders for more.

    How about simply being able to search all vendors in a zone in one spot?

    For instance, search all Rift vendors in one spot.
