SRIBES - Overload Pet sorcerer build

Magic sorcerer builds are already extremely limited in terms of builds and play styles, I decided to post this build for that very reason. I started playing the class this update and I can already tell i'm not a big fan of the ranged play style but thought it would be good to post this in order to - hopefully - increase build diversity among magic sorcerers. I'm not claiming to be the best magic sorcerer but I understand the class and know this is a great build.

Build Strengths: Tanky due to big shields and hits super hard.
Build Weaknesses: Reflect is annoying.

SETS

Nectropotence - This set is amazing. It gives 3 max magic bonuses and the 5th piece increases our overall maximum magic which is what allows us to have a big shield and hit hard.
Elegance - Elegance is really expensive, on PC NA at least. It was 1mil gold for my sword but it was worth it. It allows me to hit up to 20k+ overloads so I can just tear through people like they're nothing.
Engine Guardian - I used to use molag kena here but because it increases ultimate costs I decided to drop it. Engine guardian is great due to the stats it gives back, this combined with a tri pot allows me to stay at full magic and stamina in most fights.

SKILLS

Crystal Fragments - A must for all magic sorcerer builds
Structured Entropy - Used to proc Might of the Guild, 20% spell damage buff
Curse - Keep this on enemies as often as you can, it's great burst if you line it up with frags and mages wrath.
Endless Fury - Apply this before use a frag proc so they instantly vaporize when you land your combo
Summon Twilight Matriarch - This is our main heal and gives us our necropotence buff. Try not to let this pet die by using the heal often. I use it to LOS and *** people off.
U: Energy Overload - This is the bread and butter of the build, I often build ultimate before I PvP and it will always stay up because combat frenzy keeps it full.
1: Crystal Fragments - With overload I often try to proc this with entropy and CC them with the frag then overload and it will typically kill most players before they can even CC break.
2: Structured Entropy - Used to proc might of the guild, frags, and 20% spell damage buff
3:Endless Fury - I apply this before I overload to guarantee the kill before I use it.
4:Hardened Ward - Due to our magic pool being so large i'm able to have a really large ward which prevents me from being burst down easily.
5: Twilight Matriarch: This is our main heal and gives us our necropotence buff. Try not to let this pet die by using the heal often. I use it to LOS and *** people off.

Daedric Minefield - This should be self explanatory.
Streak - This should also be self explanatory.
Harness Magic - Stack this hardened ward, if you're getting zerged just spam this to keep your magic pool up.
Hardened Ward - Due to our magic pool being so large i'm able to have a really large ward which prevents me from being burst down easily.

The Lady - 31 elemental Defender, 36 hardy, 10 thick skinned

The Apprentice - 100 elemental expert, 10 blessed, 47 spell erosion

The only thing I don't like is the DW... I use a similar build with Elegance and Seducer and 1 piece Kena. Sure I lose that crazy Engine Guardian sustain, but I gain more options with my good ol' destro staff. Otherwise great build!

I adore necropotence.

I do a more range build; I use both pets and the Maw of the Infernal (and RNGjesus loves me 'cause the Daedroth shows up like twice a fight).

I never run out of overload due to combat frenzy and I just put my keyboard on top of my mouse and perma block on mobs before I play and have 1k ult. It literally is never down, but I know what you mean.

New Sorc here - I had been toying around with the idea for a pet build recently - was curious what your thoughts on the Clanfear was?

How do the pet heal's work? And is pet-tank a serious problem - i.e. can another player just wreck it off the bat and then I'm ***?

Clanfear is a terrible source of healing in PvP and not a good source of damage compared to the Volatile morph. Its best use is as a damage sponge in PvE.

Okay so the clanfear is pretty bad; the heal isn't terrible but its cut in half in cyrodiil so it's like 16% of your max health and the damage is meh. However, twilight is amazing. Pets can be killed easily so that's why its great twilight heals itself and you should always keep ward up on you and the pet.

You don't need swords. The passives from duel wield do not apply to overload. So any two sharpened one hander will do.

for pure overload damage. for spells cast from that bar while not overloading... you want swords.

i've toyed with this build on pts for a short time (only difference was that i wasn't using the execute but on the cfrags bar but deadric prey and had my pet set to active). imho it's (one of) the best sorc vs sorc builds and probably alos great to kill noobs / zergssurf and "gank" unaware people. however, reflect (wings and everyone with def stance) and careful opponentes with enough evasion / dodge stamina are a real pain.

not only because of overload but also because of the lack of light attacks while not overloading. even with my variant with curse i had problems keeping good nb's busy. but maybe i was just lacking damage. i went for much more sustain (regen glyphs).

a fun niche build nevertheless, though - and very strong for what it does, which just happens to be not everything

PS: i see you use 100 bastion and it always feels well to me too. however, mathematically, shouldn't more in hardy/elemental be better siche it's supposed to work on damage absorbed by shields? but 100 bastions always "feels nice", i have to admit
